Dr. Keith B Johnson has been my family's personal physician for 20 years. He oversaw treatment, recommended specialists when necessary, and was always available to us through my husband's many serious illnesses and palliative care. We were able to reach him personally at all times, day or night, in emergencies. He continues as my family's physician, and we have never encountered anything but the utmost personal, kind and professional care in any event. I know that he undertook on his own time training with the US Army Rangers to learn of trauma and biochemical poisoning intervention in case of attacks on the public. He treated Tri Care patients, delivering babies and seeing families at the hospital at no charge for 8 years. He has offered to treat my own, active duty military family any time they are visiting if necessary. He is a staunch supporter of the US Military families. Dr. Johnson has been On Call, every other night, for 26 years. He has been at the hospital day and night for his patients. I have the highest regard for Dr. Johnson's experience and personal care. His staff has also always treated us with respect, efficiency and care. read more

We love Dr. Johnson! I met him in the hospital a few hours after my son was born. Right away I liked his candor and humor but I didn't fully appreciate his talent until he diagnosed my newborn with cranio synostosis (prematurely fused head bones). My son's brain was growing but his bones were not expanding to allow the growth. Dr. Johnson gently told me we would need to see a neurosurgeon ASAP. After 2 surgeries and a few years of monitoring, I can say my son is fine. But had it not been for Dr. Johnson's detection, my son could be severely impaired or worse. I can never thank him enough for that diagnosis but he humbly turns down any praise. We, (our whole family) are now patients as Dr. Johnson accepts adults as part of his internal medicine practice. I always feel safe in his care. He will err on the side of caution. He genuinely cares for people and wants us to be happy and healthy. How many physicians can you say that about these days? I was used to being just a folder with a number...Dr. Johnson never treats us that way. read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Johnson's for over 20 years and my children have been patients since birth and they are in now in college. He is double boarded in both internal medicine and pediatrics. Dr. Johnson provides evidence-based medicine and is extremely well versed in the latest developments in medical care. He has an excellent bed side manner and takes time with you during your exam. Most importantly he is passionate about being a doctor. Dr. Johnson was my children't pediatrician since birth and as they move into adulthood they still choose Dr. Johnson as their physician. They find him easy to talk to and interested in their healthy development. He takes time with each patient and during the exam you feel as if you are the only patient in the office. Finally, in this changing healthcare environment where there is an emphasis of quantity over quality, Dr. Johnson takes the time to be a quality healthcare provider. read more

I want to let everyone know about Dr. Keith B Johnson MD of Venice, Florida and the great and compassionate care I have received from him. I am an Alaskan resident and spend the winters in Florida and Dr. Johnson accepted me as a new Medicare patient when other providers turned me down. I have Muscular Dystrophy and COPD and Dr. Johnson has helped keep me alive for the past 10 years since I have been commuting to Florida. He treats me for whatever is wrong with me, whether it is bronchitis, fire ant bites, or eczema he always has the correct cure for me. Three years ago after a routine CAT scan for bronchitis he found out my liver was swollen and I had Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD). He helped me change my diet and lifestyle and that is probably the reason I'm still alive today. Again, I could not ask for a better doctor than Keith B. Johnson MD. Dr. Johnson is by far the most patient and friendly doctor. Me and my 2 daughters ages 8 and 10 see him. He is very thorough during our visits and we never feel rushed. I literally went to about 6 other doctors offices to find the best and especially the cleanest for my girls. Dr. Johnson and his staff are amazing. They fit us in right away if my kids are sick and they always respond to my emails on the portal timely. I am very thankful and highly recommend Dr. Johnson. He is amazing with kids because my daughter has adhd and is a ball of energy and can't sit still. He is very patient with her which makes me feel at ease. He understands what she is going through and for a mom, that makes me feel good. I won't take my girls anywhere else. -Dominique read more

I have been seeing Dr. Johnson for almost 20 yrs, he has always made me feel comfortable in knowing that his knowledge of my condition and subsequent orders are carefully made. His staff is very polite and friendly, the office and patient rooms are clean and comfortable. The time spent waiting in the office is minimal and sick and well areas are separated by adequate distance. If my condition warrants, Dr. Johnson will give me a sample of a new medication to try before spending a fortune on it. My experience with Dr. Keith B. Johnson has shown that he holds a high degree of professionalism as well as a sense of really "caring" about his patients. I recommend him to anyone who is looking for a high quality/dependable physician. read more

Dr. Johnson has been my Primary Care physician for twelve years. He has saved my life no less than three times and has consulted with my specialists repeatedly to insure my health and safety. His medical knowledge is endless. His care and concern for me has always been exceptional. He is kind, reassuring, and supportive. During many of my appointments I have seen him sitting on the floor talking with pre-school patients and conversing with "Special Needs" children as well. His patient list is diverse and spans age groups from infancy to geriatrics. As well, his office staff is precise, helpful, and personable. I highly recommend Dr. Keith Johnson. Alfred T. Beware. Dr. Johnson is full of himself and patients come last. He thinks he is a specialist in all areas, and won't refer you when you need it. Office staff is rude and will lie in order to cover up for their mistakes. Forget about getting test results in a reasonable periord of time. You call the office, speak to a voicemail, and they promise to get back to you in 48 hours (business days)!!! Dr. Johnson sold his practice to the same company that owns Venice Hosptial. This is the same hosptial group that has been under investigation on 60 minutes for questionable practices. Find yourself a real doctor, not this twerp! read more

Doctor Keith B. Johnson is an excellent physician. Please ignore the 2 reviews clearly Cheri K & Denise W are extremely inaccurate and misleading people. I would not be ALIVE today if it were not for Dr Johnson he truly saved my life. The staff are all very professional ,kind and friendly. I believe you should treat people like you would want to be treated. We are all human and we all have bad days, but to say such horrible comments about Dr Johnson that just wrong. I do recommend Dr Johnson, I will continue to do so. read more

Dr Johnson is a doctor in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. We have gone to him for many years and are constantly impressed by his medical knowledge. I have been told by nurses at Sarasota Memorial Hospital that he shares his knowledge with them and teaches them about new procedures and how to recognize different problems. One physician told me that Dr Johnson is a walking encyclopedia. He has identified problems and was able to refer us to the needed specialist. We would recommend him to anyone needing a doctor. read more

It is important for any individual to have a quality internist as your PCP. I have been fortunate to have been a patient of Keith Johnson since 1998.
