As much as I like to be a "Big Picture" type of guy, sometimes life's minutiae drives you crazy. One example in point is my really cool looking Casio EX-G1 All Weather Camera in Red. You can add optional "bumpers" that makes this camera look even cooler. However, when I bought the camera, the long screws that are needed were not included in the original packaging. So I called up Casio and all that I've received after 2 shipments are the short screws and at 50 cents each (plus shipping). The Casio agents are helpful enough (in an East Coast sort of way), but the hours (9-5 EST) are limited, and one might suggest that I have too much time on my hands to sweating this kind of minor detail. I have had Timex Triathlon watches since they first came out. My last Timex lasted 10 years without any repairs. I have even been diving with the Timex watch down to 150 feet. My friend talked me into getting a Casio G-shock watch. I just wished I had not bought this looser of a watch. I had to have the entire watch guts replaced after owning it for just 5 months. It costs $8 to send it in. Incidentally, they wanted to charge me full price for the repairs until I faxed them a copy of my warranty. Here it is at 11 months and again it stopped working. So, I sent it back in. They sent me a repair estimate for $40 (the band was cracked, it wasn't when I sent it in, and again the battery was not working). The battery would have been covered under warranty, except the crystal was corroded. Somebody tell me how the crystal got corroded when I only wore the watch for 7 of the 11 months, I owned it and they are the ones that last repaired the crystal. The watch says it is water resistant. It must not be. Casio is the absolute WORST watch I have ever worn and would not have another if you paid me to wear it. Stay clear of the company. Their watches are trash and their warranties are worthless. I gave Casio 1 star just so I could tell you guys how bad this company really is. read more

Bought an inexpensive (approx. #175) Casio sport watch for when I don't want to wreck a good timepiece. It worked fine until the battery died. Two very good local watch repair shops were unable to open the case. It seems to have been over-tightened when the watch was being assembled. Shipped it to Casio for a batter and received a really odd form letter with multiple choices. It states the following: "Regrettably your product cannot be repaired at this time because of one of the following reasons: 1. Spare parts are not currently in our stock and have a long delivery time. 2. Spare parts are no longer being manufactured 3. Your product is a replace only model as spare parts are not manufactured." Apparently I get to pick my favorite reason for why I can't replace the battery in a crappy watch. They didn't bother to specify. For $70.63, including shipping and taxes, I could select a replacement watch from among three options offered. Figured what the heck and selected a model similar to the one that they couldn't open. It'll be the last time Casio sees any revenue from me. read more

HORRIBLE customer service. I sent in my watch that I'd had for 2-months because water was getting into the face. They refused to repair under warranty and wanted to charge me $8 just to send the watch back and it would have been $28 to fix it! Now, the watch cost me $35 new. Absolutely disgusting customer service. Evidently some Casio G-Shock watches are cased over seas in humid conditions, trapping moisture inside. This means when the watch is introduced to cooler temperatures it will fog up to where you can't even read it. Casio is aware of the problem but refuses to fix it and instead tries to charge you $90 for a new case. I paid almost $300 for one of the "toughest" watches on the market and it fogs up when it gets a little chilly out and you won't fix it? On top of that the lady who answers the phone sounds like she's missing a couple of chromosomes. No matter what you try to explain to her she can't/ won't help you. Paid money to ship my watch to this place for repair, they didn't touch it then tried to charge me to ship it back. The long time history of the Casio brand being associated with quality has definitely been tossed out. read more

I promised myself to write this since last Xmas. Now that I found the time to draft something: My CASIO XJ-M150 projector (Signature model) was purchased brand new a few months back, then I started noticing some white dots on the display, which kept mushrooming and increasing in size and number and I was pretty sure it wasn't dust. I then googled the problem and realized these were dead pixels and that the lamp was probably defective and needed to be replaced. The unit's MSRP was $1,399.00, and had a 3 year warranty on it, so I contacted their service and they asked me to ship it to their center in Dover. I wrapped up the projector, included my receipt and a polite letter to the manager explaining my misfortune with this unit. In less than 4 days and right before Xmas, the projector was back home and working like a charm, with a ZERO Dollar invoice enclosed. I'm writing this particularly because I thought it was funny how negative reviews could affect your whole judgement towards someone. I did check the reviews on CASIO here even before shipping the unit and they were not very encouraging, but I knew that yelp is based on a faulty concept to begin with, and the reason is quite simple: When your'e satisfied about some product or service, you don't [USUALLY] bother to rush to your PC the same night and write something positive, because a good service is what people naturally expect. You don't scout around giving kudos left and right to people simply for doing their job.. It's the least you'd expect of them, right? However, when things go wrong, the first thing people think is: YELP!! I'm gonna bankrupt those mofos! which has unfortunately become, in many ways, a means for retaliation by leaving negative comments out of spite.. Most NEGATIVE reviews I've seen here were about some cheap watch and whatnot. Guys.. for God's sake, like what the heck are you even doing in NYC if you can't afford to pay the repair cost of a $36 rubber watch? Are you even serious? CASIO have honored their warranty terms and provided me with excellent service. The unit was repaired at no charge and shipped back to me in light speed. I couldn't be more happy. When my Casio Edifice watch stopped working some time after the warranty period, I searched for an authorized repair center. I sent Casio Repair an e-mail requesting assistance. They asked that I ship my watch to Casio Repair. Upon receipt of my watch, a Casio technician would evaluate it, and generate an estimate for the cost of the work that was needed. They stated that Casio America would not begin any repair work without my approval. I decided to send the watch in for repair, the estimate was quite reasonable so I approved the work, provided payment, and the repair was begun. Casio Support kept me well informed as to the progress of the repair, for instance, letting me know when a special part had to be sourced from Japan. Ultimately, the repair was accomplished in good time, actually sooner than promised. My watch was securely shipped back to me, looking great and running well. I am quite pleased with the entire service experience. I found all involved to be responsive, courteous and expedient. I would not hesitate to recommend Casio Repair. read more

Customer Service, two words that Casio shouldn't use together. My son got a watch as a present from out of state friends that was not working. It's so obviously new - pristine, on it's little plastic stand, all the manuals and docs. Called Casio and was told if I didn't have a receipt, I had to write a letter stating I received it as a gift and have it NOTARIZED. That of course only verifies my signature, nothing else - not the content , the address or even the date. So why notarized?- "It's Casio policy". So I have to take an hour to go to a bank in the middle of the day, pay a notary fee, pay for a trackable service (like UPS) to send it back - all for a new watch that's like what $40. Sounds like one of those things a company does to discourage returns - people just say forget it. Forget Casio. read more

Bought a Gshock watch for my son for Christmas. By March 2014 I had to replace the battery. My jeweler told me I should return it but thought it was maybe just a fluke. My jeweler is a Rolex repair man. He replaced the battery. Then it died again so I sent it Casio. They told me it was damaged and that the battery was installed incorrectly. The point is that there was a problem since March. Worked with new flattery until June. The problem is the watch. But no go. You have to pay to have to send it back and then pay to get it back. Really one of the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I have owned 2 G-shocks and really loved them, thought they were durable and long lasting. the G-Shock I had just received had a manufacturers problem. The watch was a couple months old when it suddenly died, which I thought was very strange . After some research I thought the solution was to replace the battery. However upon opening the back I found rust over the rubber layer. I emailed Casio and they asked me to send the G-shock over to Dover NJ. About a week later they mailed and responded saying the warranty had expired. I called saying it's only been 4 months the latest not a year. They said since I opened the watch my warranty was voided. However if I didn't open the watch, how was I to know there was a leak? Honestly liked the brand but the service they provide just is too much of a deterrent. The man I was talking to just said " I can scrap it or send it back" 1 the watch doesn't work anymore, 2 is have to pay another 8.99 for shipping... read more

Horrible Customer Service I have a defect in my watch that apparently was not covered under warranty. I called 3 or 4 times and received disparate answers from multiple inexperienced representatives. To have your watch (or any casio product) repaired, you must ship it (~10$) to this Dover address and have it evaluated. If they determine that your product should not to be covered under warranty, you'd have to have to pay for it to be shipped back to you (~10$) AND/OR cover the exorbitant cost of repair (up to 50 $ for a water leak as another customer stated). With this dilemma, I felt it was not worth the risk since many reviewers complained about having their product "held hostage." Additionally, their customer service spoke in a condescending manner that felt very intimidating because I asked so many questions regarding my risks. I received a G Shock watch a few months ago as a gift. I haven't had a watch in years but the last one I had was a G Shock. They are pretty sturdy watches. A few weeks into having the watch, I noticed the date and the digital time would reset on its own. The time on the hands were correct though. After resetting it a few times I finally email Casio and I received a prompt reply stating that the circuit board was not working and I could send it in for repairs. It was still covered in the warranty so it didn't cost me anything except sending it back. They suggested sending it where it can be tracked so I chose UPS. I got the watch back less than a week later. I'm torn in a way because the customer service was quick and seamless but the watch shouldn't have broken so quickly. I would buy another G Shock though. Digital time, World Time, Stop Watch, Alarm, etc. the only thing that could be better is the light. The hands glow in the dark too. read more

Really? I purchase a $400.00+ Privia piano that is mde by your company, and you can't include a usb cable for it in the box. If ANYBODY at Casio believes this review is worth the price of a USB cable to your company please do respond back. The G-Shock watches that Casio makes states the batteries last 10 years. The first one I bought, the battery lasted a little over one year and went dead. I called up Casio and the lady was very rude and told me to send it in and they would replace the battery for $12 plus S & Handling fees. I made a mistake thinking the watch may have bad and bought another one. Guess what, the same thing is happening and the battery on it is slowly dying. I think Casio should replace the battery for free. This is false advertising!!! read more

Warranty is Worthless. I purchased the Casio AW-80-1AV watch 6 months ago for the 10 year battery life and the ability to swim with it (rated to 50 meters). My first time in the pool the watch showed condensation behind the crystal. The condensation made it impossible to read the face of the watch. Since I purchased the watch less than 6 months prior I sent it to Casio in Dover NJ with the receipt and requested they honor the warranty. They wrote back that the case was cracked so the warranty did not apply. I called them back and told them they were mistaken the case is in perfect shape and that no seals had been broken. They refused to honor the warranty and mailed the watch back to me. So I took it to a watch specialist who told me there are no signs of any cracks or seals broken. The watch specialist told me Casio was lying and just trying to avoid honoring their 1 year warranty. read more

They send out form letters that watch is out of warranty or parts can't be found. All they have to do is honor their warranty. Stay far, far away! I've always loved the idea behind the so called ultra-durable GSHOCK watches! I requested a GA1000-1A for Christmas, about 2-3 years ago and was very happy when I received it. I have worn this watch almost every day of my life since then, only taking it off to shower. A few days ago, my heart broke. A few days ago, the first very cold day here in New York, I came in from the outside and noticed the INSIDE of my GSHOCK face was now totally covered with water condensation. The face is almost unreadable because of the tiny dew like, water droplets inside of the face. What happened to your ultra-durable watches?! I don't deep sea dive, I don't fly planes at high altitude... The most rigorous activity that you watch has been through is a trip to the super market. I'm very disappointed in GSHOCK... I sent in my watch for repair, based on email text directions to hand write a note of what was wrong. When it got to the service center in NJ it was initially "lost" by Casio for a few days. And now they're asking for $200+ to repair their "Rugged. Tough. Unbreakable." watch... Nowadays that same watch retails for under that. I purchased a Casio G Zone Ravin 2 phone in September 2013 because it claimed it was waterproof up to 1.5 meters for 30 min. my husband slipped into the river when climbing on his boat. He was in the water maybe 30 seconds with the phone in his pocket. When he tried the phone it did not work. I called Casio they would do NOTHING about it. Casio, Inc refuses to honor the warranty for my 4 month old Waveceptor Atomic. The metal case fractured where the band pin fits. This is my second Casio watch to fracture in the same place. Junk product, junk customer service. "Not a manufacturing defect" is their claim. Can you get more bogus? Good 4 Nothing Customer Service at Casio. I am a US military soldier. My Pathfinder watch does not retain charge so when I want to check time in the night the watch is sadly dead.
