The work they did was amazingly poor, the framing was terrible, the drywall work was extremely substandard, the plumbing was also poorly done, and some had to be removed and re-worked. In addition the general communication and follow up from Chris and his team left a lot to be desired. The drywall and framing were done so poorly that I've had to pay thousands of dollars to another contractor to work around the terrible job that was done. The walls are not straight, flat, or plumb and there are huge divots on the wall that cause the baseboard trim to look terrible. This is on top of paying top dollar for the work that took far too long. To properly be a client of their you need to be an expert general contractor yourself, and an expert in all trades so that you can have them redo everything.

We had our air conditioning unit replaced and it revealed a large area(rotting wood) on the deck that needed immediate care. We went through Home Depot and received a bid from R Miranda Renovations. The replacement was just completed and I now have a beautiful new deck. Working with Roberta was seamless and the care she took to make sure no debris was left behind was a testament to her continuous craftsmanship and character. Brandon was a great help on this project. I will be using them again when we replace the exterior door that goes out to the deck.

Frank Snider came along just as the city finished their work and let me believe that he was from the company that did the city project and that they were going to be gone in a few days. If I wanted to have my driveway poured along with my neighbors I needed to act. I said " well I guess if the city trusts you so can I." I said this and a number of other things like that and assumed he was with the contractors that the City had hired. Frank never corrected me once and allowed me to believe that. So I hired them. When they came to do the work, they damaged the end of the driveway , stained my new concrete, and left garbage and debris all over the yard. I had questions about streaks and things all over the driveway, but Frank assured me that there was a one year warranty and that those streaks would not be there the following Spring. To make a long story short , it took a complaint with a Better Business Bureau to get him to return and fix the end of the driveway, which was not done well, and I finally signed off with the exception that I was signing off only because I felt this was the best I was going to get from this company. Fast forward to this Spring. We noticed an area of the driveway that was totally sunken in as well as vegetation growing in numerous places throughout the driveway. I first contacted Midwest Construction in May 2024 to bring it to their attention and ask them to come out and repair it. They have never made an attempt to come out and make any repair. Frank recently called and left a voicemail stating that we were out of warranty. If we are, it is only because he avoided taking care of the issue for months. This is not a company with integrity. If you are considering working with this company, don't walk away, RUN as fast as you can. Had he not misrepresented himself, I would have certainly gotten several estimates but I was pressured into signing up quickly while they were still in the neighborhood. I have now filed a complaint with the attorney general and I hope that this gets us some resolution to either get the work done or refund to hire the work done.

We'd already had plans drawn…read moreup by an architect friend and the point of the remodel was to remove the original brick and concrete entry, that was falling in due to ice heaving, and replace it with a wooden deck with storage underneath. We'd taken care of the demo and landscaping to prep the site. Chad and his crew took it from there and did a really fabulous job. We have a challenging site because of heavy clay soil and large tree roots. They carefully set the posts and quickly got to work - late in the fall - on putting up the structure. The deck went up quickly and they did everything - including the horizontal privacy cladding, a custom bumpout to integrate the new deck into the 70s house, a custom double swing door to access the storage space, and a custom railing using wire panel - exactly to spec and with a high degree of craftsmanship. Chad and his crew were always timely, courteous, and did a great job cleaning up the worksite each day. We really appreciate the great work they did and have already been so thankful to finally be able to store some unsightly items out of the way and can't wait until spring when we paint the house and stain the deck. Finally, as a female homeowner, I really appreciated that they recognized that I was the person in the equation who cared most about the outcome of the project, who had the strongest viewpoints on the design decisions, and who needed to be consulted as the project went along. This is not always the case and it's refreshing to work with a crew who doesn't ignore "the wife."
