I have worked at my good job for the last 20 years, needed some cash for an emergency so I thought I would give this a try. I provided my pay stubs and over 60 days of banking yet the 2 people behind the counter wanted 90 days of banking which makes no difference it shows my pays, worked at the same place for 20 years and really because I didn't have 2 more weeks of banking they couldn't help out. I originally went into this shop last week and purchased two rings; the first was appraised…read more($1800+) and the second didn't come with an appraisal. I was shown the appraisal and did think the ring was beautiful. I tried the ring on and while it was big, it did fit. That afternoon, I brought the ring into People's to have it sized. After shipped out, I was informed that the quality of ring I purchased was NOT as promised. The prongs and the support -- were complete garbage (with NO indication of this at time of purchase). To make matters worse, they stated they couldn't complete the sizing as it would sacrifice the integrity of the ring (which would cause me to lose my diamond.) I called the manager and spoke to him; he accused People's of lying -- stating there was nothing wrong with the ring. I told him that they lost out on a sale because they couldn't size it. He then told me that I should have told the customer service rep and SHE could have had it resized (which again, would STILL compromise the QUALITY of the ring and I would lose my diamond). I told him again that I just wanted my money back as OBVIOUSLY there would have been no way of knowing this prior to purchase without disclosure. He told me no. I told him that legally, I purchased something under a certain specification. One would EXPECT that an appraised ring (done by HIS jeweler) would have noticed such damage... but he told me that their jeweler doesn't check that? Um pardon? His solution was to simply bring the ring into HIS shop and HIS jeweler (the same one who didn't know to check the prongs and support) would resize it for a "small fee". Like I'd trust a company who LIED about the quality to resize it without further damaging it. Now I am left with a broken ring. This place OBVIOUSLY doesn't care about the quality of their products NOR their customers. It's a shame because what was once a wonderful experience, turned into complete crap. BUYER BEWARE!! I will be sharing this with the various Facebook groups I am in, my social media feeds, eBay (which they are apart of) and all review websites so no one else gets burned like I did. I just want a refund of the one appraised ring as it was NOT the quality promised... I suppose they have until March 19th, 2016 to comply or I will be seeking legal action.
