The Italian counterpart agent that CRC worked with stuck us in a hotel in a bad neighborhood in Rome. Further, we had no idea we were not near any attractions and several blocks from Termini station (the rail lines) so transit was a bit dangerous and far away. We were also put up at a villa in Chianti that was in the middle of nowhere and he knew we were without a car. We had nowhere to go and were forced to eat dinner there (which was not good). As travel agents, it is CTC's responsibility to check our itinerary and make sure this does not happen to its clients. After our return, our agent didn't check in to see how our trip was for three weeks. When we voiced our concerns we received a one-sentence response saying "Thanks, glad you enjoyed Italy and great feedback!" We loved Italy, but we spent thousands of dollars through CRC Travel and apparently it wasn't enough to merit the care of the agent.

My husband and I had the absolute pleasure of working with Rebecca Spina from CRC Travel over the…read morecourse of 9 months to plan our European honeymoon. From day one, Rebecca, who works for CRC out of New Jersey, was attentive, responsive, and extremely helpful, especially in planning out every detail of our very ambitious itinerary. For context, our 14-day honeymoon took us to Dubrovnik, Croatia for four days, followed by ten days in Venice, Florence, Rome, Sorrento, and Naples, Italy. That's a total of two countries (well three when you count our day trip to Montenegro, also planned by Rebecca), six hotels in six separate cities, a handful of flights, two trains, one rental car, and many excursions in between. Both countries--and all cities--were brand new destinations for both me and my husband. So with how many places we were hoping to visit, using a travel agent was a no-brainer, especially for such a special occasion. In the beginning phases of planning, Rebecca clearly laid out and articulated all of our different options, with recommendations on what cities to spend more time in and which ones to skip, and providing overall guidance on how she would map out the two-week trip if she was in our shoes. While I tend to be very picky and rarely let others plan things for me (I'll admit it!), having Rebecca weigh-in on all of these moving pieces was extremely comforting and relieving, especially when I was in the thick of planning a wedding. After providing her initial suggestions on the course of the trip, Rebecca quickly went ahead and reserved actual flights and hotels for us, so we could see the overall trip from start to finish before committing and booking anything. Once we confirmed that that itinerary worked, Rebecca continued to be extremely responsive (always responding the same day) and went on to book our rental car, trains, and even key excursions in each of our destinations. She truly served as a concierge when it came to our entire trip and no question of ours went unanswered. Once we were a few days out from the trip, Rebecca sent along a final detailed itinerary which included anything and everything that we would need while abroad. Now again, I'm usually one to disregard these templated documents and make my own, but for the first time ever, I didn't even have the urge to do so; she didn't skip a single beat and was extremely thorough and detailed in what she sent over. I printed multiple copies of the document and used it exactly as it was provided. The honeymoon itself was truly the best two weeks of our lives. We cannot thank Rebecca enough for her expertise and assistance in planning what was a dream come true trip of a lifetime. Every single hotel was stunning and conveniently located (in the best part of every city may I add), and each room had a gift waiting for us upon arrival - exactly what you envision when you think about your honeymoon. For any couple hoping to plan a honeymoon like ours--or any trip for that matter--we strongly suggest you reach out to Rebecca as you will certainly not regret it! Rebecca, we really cannot thank you enough and look forward to working with you again in the near future. Now the person who swore she'd never use a travel agent (me) swears by one - and you should too!

Usually I would plan our trips but I was having some issues planning because of Covid restrictions & multiple locations. We noticed that Mena Travel had a small advertisement on the back of the church bulletin w/a contact on the ad. Jon/Juan was our go to for Mena Travel. While we didn't book our entire trip through Mena Travel Juan was able to help us w/a number of things that proved to be very helpful. We were going to Spain for 9 days & decided to split our time between Madrid & Barcelona. Jon mentioned that Iberia flew directly from Chicago to Madrid. We did book the airfare through Mena. One of the problems I have w/looking for hotels is not knowing the geography of the cities we're going to. Juan was very helpful w/offering us a number of locations in both Madrid & Barcelona leaving it up to us to pick our choice. Both locations ended up being centrally located in the downtown areas of Madrid & Barcelona. Since Juan lived in Barcelona for 2 years his knowledge of the city proved to be very helpful. He gave me a couple of suggestions for our 25th Anniversary dinner on 12/01/2021. The restaurant I selected based on his recommendation was an awesome place in The Gothic Section of Barcelona called Brugarol. (See my review)

With such little time, we sheepishly asked Mena if they could help. We worked with Angel who, from my point of view, worked miracles. He helped us plan a twelve day trip, Milan, Florence, and Chianti. Our trip included a rental car, wonderful hotels, and tickets on the Frecciarosa. No private tours, or private restaurant/wine/cooking/art. Just an incredible, special, beautiful experience from start to end. Thank you, Angel.

She is absolutely AMAZING. Through the end of our trip, she provided the most detailed and updated information in such an organized manner at the right timing. And she was available before and during our trip; She responded to all our inquiries in a few hours, mostly within an hour. I remember asking her if she'd ever rest! We had a wonderful time in March right before the closure. Her created schedule could not have been better - She took into consideration various factors, such as my child's age and interests, our preference for different parts of Disney, length of trip, etc. We can't think of any other agent for our future trips because we know that she will provide her expertise in the most thorough, up-to-date, accurate, organized, and actually useful way for our needs. We just contacted her today to plan another trip, to have a safe family vacation. She is a true professional who loves what she does. They were so patient while we made up our minds to travel and made everything so easy, offering a lot of recommendations and staying within our budget. Geri Costello was a dream travel agent. Excellence riviera cancun was a dream resort, and the honeymoon suites at the excellence club were insane! We can't wait to book another vacation next year with Janus travel. The getting to/from the airport and excursions with lomas travel was a breeze and affordable. We had no issues with the timeshare stands in the airport. Leaving can in was a bit of a mess to check in, it took about 45 min to just get checked in to give them baggage, but that wasn't an issue as we got to the airport 3 hours before we flew home. We got a free honeymoon package that we booked and showed them our marriage certificate to use. You can view the types of options on the excellence website. The resort- it's like something you see in movies. We had a private concierge for the excellence club guests, and a pool and bar area exclusively to that part of the resort. Our room was fantastic, we loved it. We arrived to fresh flowers, champagne, fresh fruit, and towel swans with rose petals on the bed. The room was huge, all the amenities (bar, TV, shower, sitting area, hammock, our door tub, and outdoor bed ) were all exactly as described. We walked onto the patio and there was a two person tub on one side (the jets didn't work, but that's ok) a bed in the shade on the other side and a hammock directly in front. There was a bed in partial shade in from of that, and fresh towels set on it every morning for swimming. The pool was 4 feet from the outdoor bed, so we could lay out and then jump in. The pools closed at 8 which was odd, but it didn't bother us too much. The room was cleaned twice a day, and we had people come to give us fruit, refill the mini bar, and put petit fours in our room every day. Our bed and shower were so comfortable, the only weird thing was a not very private toilet, it just had a glass frosted door, and you could hear everything from there, haha. We could eat breakfast as early as 7am at the private concierge if we had to leave early for an excursion at 7:45 and didn't have time to go to the breakfast buffet. The concierge would also take our large peso bills and exchange them for smaller for us. The restaurants and bars were great, and we had no trouble getting drinks by the pool. The drinks were delicious, and so was the food. The weather was perfect every single day, cooler in the morning, very hot in the afternoon (so we'd swim and tan) and cooler but breezy and wonderful by 6-7 at night. The beach had some seaweed but they cleaned it up every day and honestly didn't bother us in the ocean. (Which is typical for that part of Mexico and Geri let us know about in advance). They had fun activities and shows every night, and we loved the Mayan show and the Mexican fiesta night. On our last night we went to an all white themed dinner buffet on the beach lit up by lanterns and with live music. We upgraded our honeymoon dinner on the beach from the honeymoon package for $200 for a private dinner on the pier, and the pier right next to it had a harp player on it throughout our private fancy dinner. The champagne and wine was plentiful and the service was amazing. He even took some pictures of us on the pier which was so nice. We used our honeymoon hydrotherapy and foot massage spa treatment and upgraded to add a 25 min couples back massage. It was so relaxing and the spa beautiful. The service everywhere on the resort was incredible. We took excursions with lomas travel (recommended by Geri) to akumal to swim/snorkel with sea turtles and see an a over ground/open cenote, a trip sailing on a catamaran to isla mujeres and snorkel at the underwater museum of art, and a trip to chichen itza and an ecopark with a cenote and lunch included. 3 trips in 7 days was plenty. We explored playa del Carmen on our own one afternoon. I always felt safe, the only annoyance was the vendors who could be a bit pushy and follow you around the store- but My husband was good at bartering and deflecting them. It was amazing and perfect.
