After a slightly creepy night in an ever so slightly creepy B&B, we decided to ditch the flowery duvet and get ourselves to a hotel instead.
It turned out that Casey's cost us nearly the same price as the B&B, but what a helluva difference it made.
For €40 pp, we got a really lovely room, with one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in, looaads of room, and two walls of windows overlooking the sea and the picturesque ship wreck that still sticks half out of the water. Breakfast was also included which was HUGE. I honestly couldn't manage it all - this alone would have been worth the forty. A fairly big continental spread, as well as a huuuge cooked breakfast with the ultra tasty Clonakilty pudding, and Casey's own brown bread. It was so good, I took a loaf home for myself.
The staff were all very nice - perhaps a little casual / laid back, but I don't see that as a bad thing in a little country hotel like this.
I would highly recommend Casey's for anyone who's going to visit this beautiful part of the world. read more
