It was in perfect condition, the car was clean, had no odor, and most importantly it drove well. Literally no complaints. I immediately notified them And my insurance. They offered no help or substitute vehicle. They took my deductible payment and my insurance repaired their vehicle at the place they chose. They initially told me that was good and thanks for early reporting as it helped them in all ways. Months later they wanted me to pay an additional $2400 for loss of use in addition to the repairs For something I had no control over. They are definitely trying to take advantage of their customers. Yes they talked a nice game but ultimately they are not trying neither helpful like a real rental care agency or fair. My insurance company says they have paid claims all over and never had any agency try to make this claim.

Despite lacking in inventory the ladies were very nice and gave me a list of other rental car businesses near by. She really recommended Black Hills car rental. I asked her if it was walkable and then she offered to drive me over there! I thought that was so kind of her. It definitely saved me another uber ride. A month or so after the rental, I received a letter with a $1k+ bill for full windshield replacement for a rock chip, with pictures that were inconclusive. The way I was responded to leads me to believe this may be a common activity for this particular location to overcharge and replace over fix, resulting in unreasonable charges. No one would help us over the phone on the Budget phone numbers printed on the receipts. I called Budget at Rapid City Airport and Janice was quick to listen and find a solution. She got the approval from her manager and we were good to go! They greeted us at the front door and exchanged our car for one on the lot. The front desk guy kept pressuring me to add hail insurance during the check out, which I declined. He said (paraphrasing) "These hail storms really pop up around here. You may regret not getting it". Of course, we experienced no hail (middle of July), and returned the car undamaged. To my surprise, I received a claim notice for hail damage from this company 2 months later (via Purco Fleet Services)! My insurance company will handle the claim, but it will likely cause my rates to go up. These people are scammers!! Avoid!!

That company "guaranteed" our reservation; we made plans based on their guarantee and two days prior to the move day we were contacted and told that our guaranteed truck may or may not be available. We contacted the Budget Truck Rental company and were greeted warmly and reassured that we would have a vehicle available for our use on the day we needed.
