Sharing my review from Google…read more.. We used Al and Ashley a few times over the years. Overall, they were really nice and friendly. Ignoring the cloud of weed they'd bring with them every visit, we really liked them and their work. Reasonably priced, usually good enough quality (or not enough problems for me to really care about). However, I think the true mark of a professional is how they respond to their failures or mistakes. We hired Wyoming Valley Painters to touch up trim on our main floor and some areas upstairs. During the walkthrough, my wife pointed out a few specific areas - clearly as examples. In the invoice, it was clearly laid out as "paint doors and baseboard and door trim throughout main floor and upstairs hall area." Fine. Main floor, specific areas of upstairs. After they left (with just a text saying "I think I heard you on a call"), I told them I'd Venmo them the remaining balance as soon as my wife was able to do a pass of the work - clearly telling them it would be later that night. Before my workday ended, I was getting messages asking about when I'd be sending them the final payment. It was weird. By later that evening, they were calling it crazy that I hadn't sent payment - and at this point I had already let them know that I was putting my kid to bed but my wife had found a lot of places where they missed. Long and short - they did a poor job, missed entire sections (of which I'll split into two categories, one that they acknowledged weren't done completely and others where they said "they weren't shown those rooms." At one point during the walkthrough, I ran into my wife showing them around and I said "anything that's painted white!" They missed 3 rooms (laundry, bathroom, and guest bedroom). Ashley was combative about this. Called me crazy, sheisty, and said it was crappy that I was "playing on her words." I don't really know what to say to this. It was unprofessional, rude, and I honestly don't need to be dealing with this. They offered to come fix the spots that they clearly missed, and I had originally offered to work something out because of potential misunderstanding. Who knows, maybe my wife wasn't crystal clear (I do believe she was). We did genuinely like them - they've been very nice in the past. I am a pretty trusting person and wanted to extend them the benefit of the doubt. My wife's insistence that she walked them through the guest bedroom specifically and asked for the entire floor to be painted, coupled with the very clear wording on the original invoice, and then some reflection on the way I was treated, the rudeness, the lack of accountability or even option to be wrong, it just felt like time to move on. If you choose to work with them, you'll probably be OK. This was I believe our 4th time working with them. Anything that might be even a little complex... insist on absolute clarity with them, because apparently when things don't go exactly as planned, they get real nasty, real quick. ------------------------ Editing to add: Wound up having to block them because I got unhinged messages from Ashley this morning calling me a piece of shit. There's a way to professionally respond to negative feedback (especially when you disagree), and I don't think this is it - both their public response and private. For context - the laundry room was absolutely expected to be in scope but as it wasn't walked through, and we expected it to get very beat up again shortly, we didn't press the issue when we first reached out. From our perspective (I understand it's not theirs), this was generosity and trying to meet in the middle. It is sad that after a bunch of good experiences (and trying to be fair about the positive experiences and what I'd recommend if you do hire them while expressing disappointment in the way they behaved during this contract) this is how they behaved. A friend of mine recently told me "you can't logic someone out of a position they didn't logic themselves into" and this feels very appropriate here.

Our church building is 125 years old, so you can well imagine the challenges! Our board was so thrilled with their expertise, time, and neatness - we have contracted them to repair and paint our chapel hallway and our Music Room. I was able to trust them enough to leave them alone in the building while I ran multiple errands even to secure the building when I wasn't able to be there. They are great conversationalists and always happy to be working while taking great pride in their workmanship. We have 4 floors of about 18 rooms. My dream is to have Al & Ashley do ALL of them. Absolutely the most rudest, most procrastinating, lousiest painter I ever knew…read more He took my money before the job staryed and then procrastinated starting, made this vague contract that had no start or finish date, even though claiming he would be 1 week, for my 748 sq ft home, and changed the scope of the work by dropping of 2 rooms, the kitchen and the bathroom, which he said hed donthe whole main floor, and he also only painted the ceiling in the bedroom, didn't touch the walls, and it took 3 weeks to start after saying he was ready to start prior to taking my money! Then he would walk off the job to go his dive bar The Two Wheel Tavern, to supposedly meet beer guy for deliveries and then canceled showing up 4x he said he'd be there at my job but texted with lame excuses again about the bar having stuff that needed to be done. He also drives with no license and insurance, and claims his company is fully insured but refuses to provide the info, probably bcz there isn't any. Look him up on the US Justice portal and you will see his record. Which also says how he knowing gives false info https://ujsportal.pacourts.us/Report/MdjCourtSummary?docketNumber=MJ-11309-TR-0000710-2020&dnh=ShUtMKbJN9%2FKU5Cym0jIRA%3D%3D He is not on the BBB website either! He left a mess. Paint on trim, spilled.paint on floor, didn't clean up, left all the old wallpaper piled up on the front porch! $2500 for this. He took out (after he cashed my sisters check Sheree Keiderling ) the bathroom, kitchen and back bedroom. Please people beware and check your contracters before hiring. Talk about getting robbed. Guess it's magistrate time. Ridiculous. Now we have to hire a REAL painter to redo all this. Anyone recommend someone who's licensed and insured? Just beware of Steve, Steven, Stephen, Zeske. What a crook. He has so many names for his company and now we see why. JUST PLEASE RESEARCH YOUR CONTRACTERS! WHAT A SHAME. He was a friend, someone said DONT HIRE FRIENDS!
