Postpartum I've also been adjusted for low back and hip pain, and "mommy shoulder" tightness from breastfeeding. I work in IT sitting in front of monitors all day, and I just thought I had tight muscles in my shoulders and neck and that the tension was causing it all. I'd gone to an ear doctor, neurologist, and several regular doctors wondering what caused the headaches, and even had my head scanned at the hospital (costing thousands). Of course none of these professionals could give me any clear answer, and I don't think they could have anyway to be fair. I ran into Dr. Outten while at my work. My company holds an annual health fair, (they give out flu shots, have a skin doctor, check blood sugar etc.) and Dr. Outten was checking out peoples spines as part of it. When I saw he was doing this, it clicked in my mind, "It's gotta be my neck." He checked me out, and I immediately setup an appointment as quickly as I could be there. I went in for an evaluation, and sure enough, I needed some chiropractic attention. I had my first adjustment a week later, and the very first one (first one in my life in fact), brought me to tears just through relief alone! There was ZERO pain, and 100% relief. Each adjustment (follow up visit) after that just kept my spine in order. During that time, I got to know his staff a bit, did stretches at home (given to me by Dr. Outten), and just started feeling better. By the way, that head ache is LONG gone. I asked Dr. Outten how long he'd been doing this during one of my visits. He simply said, "28 years." I can't think of anyone else to recommend. Durham VA Care in Community reached out with approval of approval and how many visits covered. Once scheduled I had in depth comprehensive with Dr Nathani for my initial assessment and then she came up with comprehensive plan which not only included adjustments but massage TENS and physical therapy to help me improve. Its has been part of my life over 2 yrs awaiting my newest approval to return because when rules of pain management changed people weren't offered a step down providers vanished to afraid to give medicine and most MDs have no knowledge of chiro or alternative measures when dealing with pain. The doctor isn't even a real MD, just a chiropractor.
