I called but did not get an answer but when I did, he was very rude and condescending about it being an honor system. I had no idea how it worked and nothing was posted at the stand how it worked. He was so rude that I'll continue searching for raw honey elsewhere.

Regretfully, there are strong indications of potential product adulteration in the two honey…read morevarieties I purchased, and there's nobody more disappointed than I am. The initial presale response and recommendations were of the highest quality, and I had high hopes the honey would match that standard. I ordered 3 lbs each of Buckwheat and Carrot honey. I was told these were from different geographic regions (NE vs. Central Oregon), yet both batches arrived with identical viscosity, density, and flow patterns. Physically, it is highly improbable for two distinct raw varietals from separate microclimates to exhibit identical physical behavior. Unless the bees from both regions coordinated their production metrics, this uniform thickness strongly points to a shared commercial base syrup. In addition, both shared a medicinal "cough syrup" background flavor and caused an immediate blood sugar spike in a sugar-sensitive family member who routinely consumes genuine raw honey safely. My family eats raw honey straight and unmixed daily - and I have consumed mostly dark crystallized varietals like buckwheat for over 40 years - making us highly attuned to atypical textures and glycemic profiles. I appreciate that the seller promptly accepted a return and processed a full refund, although I covered return shipping. To summarize: a responsive, knowledgeable seller - yet the product didn't meet my criteria for raw unadulterated honey.

Me and my parents did a side-by-side test with the Cornelius, the Dayton and the Hillsboro and we could not believe how different they are! They're all amazing but it blew us away how different the tastes are just from what the bees are harvesting. As you know I'm still kind of new to this honey game but the unique flavors that each hive has is unbelievable! It's almost like wine where different nuances come from different grapes whereas with the honey it's all about what they're harvesting, I was blown away! They're all fantastic and just wanted to let you know that we love them. So cool how you get the different flavors from the area that the bees are living. Thanks again, John. - - to anyone that wants to know what "REAL RAW HONEY" is then Gene is your guy. I just tasted some of this honey from a spoon I was putting into my tea.. and I had a Yelp tab…read moreopen, so I'm obligated to tell you how good this honey is. It's very sweet (like clover honey from anywhere) and has a freshness that is hard to find in store-bought honey. It's bottled raw, but the consistency is smooth and barely runs. Upon opening, there is a pretty white film at the top. I just ran out of my usual large jar of Harmony Honey from the Portland Saturday market and was devastated that my honey man won't be around till spring (ok, the address IS on the jar, so I could crash his farm. if only he'd get a website. that honey is floral and light). Alternatively, I searched New Seasons and after scoffing at the honeys from Iowa and New Zealand, and I found some down home local honey from Forest Grove, OR ($5.99/24oz)! It comes in the same jar as local Chonga's Salsa, so I presume they are some sort of deal for a small business. I'll have to keep my eye out for more of these hidden jems with black lids in the future. I love Oregon food!

I've been a loyal Wessel's honey consumer for many years now. It all started when a friend tipped…read moreme off that there were some people in the medical community that thought you could ward off annual allergy problems by eating locally produced honey on a regular basis. Something about accustomizing yourself to pollen year round. He claimed that it had worked wonders for him, and he puts it in his tea on a daily basis. While I'm not a tea drinker, I thought... why not try it in my morning coffee? It's a simple matter to squeeze some honey into your drink as opposed to a packet of sugar, so I thought... why not. Coffee purists are probably grating their teeth right now, but I don't care. Last summer was the first full summer I'd been able to tangibly test results and... there was seemingly some improvement. Now, I'm not crippled by allergies, only inconvenienced. I can tell you with certainty that I was less inconvenienced last summer than in any summer in recent memory. Enough of my plight with allergies. This honey tastes GREAT! I buy it in bulk, which translates to a 5 lb. jar (~$17, give or take) every other month or so. This honey has also become a component of my mustard based BBQ sauce, and I can tell you with confidence that I would consider no other brand. It's that good. Sweet, dark, complex, savory... it's really fantastic. The product itself deserves 5 stars, but the packaging earns 3 stars. I'm not going to tell you what my specific beef with the packaging is, but I can tell you that I'm going to contact them directly with a simple request. If that materializes, I will definitely update to 5 stars.
