I just tasted some of this honey from a spoon I was putting into my tea.. and I had a Yelp tab…read moreopen, so I'm obligated to tell you how good this honey is. It's very sweet (like clover honey from anywhere) and has a freshness that is hard to find in store-bought honey. It's bottled raw, but the consistency is smooth and barely runs. Upon opening, there is a pretty white film at the top. I just ran out of my usual large jar of Harmony Honey from the Portland Saturday market and was devastated that my honey man won't be around till spring (ok, the address IS on the jar, so I could crash his farm. if only he'd get a website. that honey is floral and light). Alternatively, I searched New Seasons and after scoffing at the honeys from Iowa and New Zealand, and I found some down home local honey from Forest Grove, OR ($5.99/24oz)! It comes in the same jar as local Chonga's Salsa, so I presume they are some sort of deal for a small business. I'll have to keep my eye out for more of these hidden jems with black lids in the future. I love Oregon food!

I've been a loyal Wessel's honey consumer for many years now. It all started when a friend tipped…read moreme off that there were some people in the medical community that thought you could ward off annual allergy problems by eating locally produced honey on a regular basis. Something about accustomizing yourself to pollen year round. He claimed that it had worked wonders for him, and he puts it in his tea on a daily basis. While I'm not a tea drinker, I thought... why not try it in my morning coffee? It's a simple matter to squeeze some honey into your drink as opposed to a packet of sugar, so I thought... why not. Coffee purists are probably grating their teeth right now, but I don't care. Last summer was the first full summer I'd been able to tangibly test results and... there was seemingly some improvement. Now, I'm not crippled by allergies, only inconvenienced. I can tell you with certainty that I was less inconvenienced last summer than in any summer in recent memory. Enough of my plight with allergies. This honey tastes GREAT! I buy it in bulk, which translates to a 5 lb. jar (~$17, give or take) every other month or so. This honey has also become a component of my mustard based BBQ sauce, and I can tell you with confidence that I would consider no other brand. It's that good. Sweet, dark, complex, savory... it's really fantastic. The product itself deserves 5 stars, but the packaging earns 3 stars. I'm not going to tell you what my specific beef with the packaging is, but I can tell you that I'm going to contact them directly with a simple request. If that materializes, I will definitely update to 5 stars.

After watching a documentary about this mad honey that grows in the mountains of Nepal as a medicinal honey, the documentary made it seem like it gets you dramatically high or something. Still, it's not like that; it's more about relaxing your body. Still, it affects everybody differently, but overall, Bee Licious Honey has many different honeys, and the one that was new to me was the one that grows in Oregon. It tastes like marshmallows; that was the most unique honey and probably one of the best Honeys I ever had. Then we took a tour around a little garden; my son pretty much enjoyed it because he's into the gardening stuff right now. We got to see all the beehives around the garden and how they pollinate the flowers; it was a great experience, and I plan to order more honey from Bee Lucious Honey online.

And they had dozens of varieties of jerky, beef, turkey, bison, elk, wild boar, salmon, alligator, it was impressive. There were some local producers, and ones from other places like Colorado, too. I told the lady that I was looking for a present for a friend, and she helpfully recommended her favorite kinds and helped me decide what to buy. My experience couldn't have been more different from Deanna's below! And they don't just have jerky - there are lots of dried fruits, candies, nuts, jams...

I have been searching for a Farm in the Pacific Northwest that has a quality product. I found that…read moreFarm in Columbia Fruits. I had been paying top dollar for a 6oz container of Blueberries at my local supermarket paying anywhere between $2.99, $3.99 & $4.99 for a one serving container. I posted a message on Yelp Talk and was turned on to Frozen Blueberries at Costco. At Costco I found a 5 pound bag of frozen blueberries from Columbia Fruits for $13.99. I took them home and placed the entire contents into a Rubbermaid Tupperware bowl and froze them for my morning smoothies. I opened the Tupperware container this morning and got a look at these things in the day light. These blueberries were the size of marbles and so blue they were purple. I washed them off a bit and noticed it was draining a lot of the stuff I probably want in my body and not going down the drain. Columbia Fruits produce also grows & sells Raspberries, Blackberries, Strawberries & of course my favorite Blueberries. I figured what the heck why not shoot them off an email and ask about the washing that they do before packaging. I emailed them and got a response back within minutes. I am super careful as to what I put in my body. I checked the pollution & groundwater reports for Woodland, WA which surpassed the EPA standards by at least double in every category. This Farm has earned my business and is saving me tons of cash.

The brand we had been buying was to say the least becoming a very poor quality product. Buying the Columbia Mango chunks was unbelievable. This will be my second year with Love Farm Organics doing the CSA. I really have nothing but…read morepositive to say about it. I do a partial share, which is more than enough for my husband and I. It has saved us a tremendous amount on our grocery bill, to the point we don't go to the grocery store nearly as often as we used to. I was even able to freeze much of it, and able to use it over the course of the winter. We pick up our CSA near our home at a market style pickup - we get to pick our own produce out of the bins, make choices between certain vegetables, and even put unwanted produce in a trade bin for others or to trade. The quality is excellent, and so much better than anything you could get at a grocery store. I love that they send out a newsletter with the upcoming produce you will get - it gives you time to meal plan and buy ingredients for your upcoming share! If you're looking for a CSA in the Portland area, I can't recommend Love Farm Organics enough - I am actually finishing a winter CSA with another organic farm and it came nowhere near the quality of this, and I'm really looking forward to it starting up again soon!

They're a 4th-generation family farm and they're really lovely people. Their produce is excellent quality, they have pick-up spots all over the area and their site has lots of resources for nutritional info and recipes on preparing the things they grow. They've introduced me to things I've never seen and really widened my palate. Their produce is organic so it isn't polluted with poisonous pesticides and doesn't poison the soil or kill pollinators like bees and butterfiles, it's healthy and delicious and actually comes out to cost less than produce at the store by my house AND I know I'm supporting a local family farm and helping keep it there. You just really can't beat an organic family farm CSA membership and everyone should try one! They also offer some work exchange and take SNAP to make their produce available to as many people as possible.
