Attended a wedding here. The grounds are beautiful. A waterfall and flowers and many areas to sit outside. The ambience was lovely. The cocktail hour was inside. They served many different cheeses, dips, bruschetta, crackers and fresh veggies. They also had waitresses walking around serving crab cakes, sesame chicken and other delights. There was also a pasta station. The tomato alfredo sauce was scrumptious. Dinner was strip steak or chicken Marsala. I tasted both. Their presentation of the salad and dinner was exceptional. I had my daughter's baby shower at Cascade and it was absolutely amazing. The cocktail hour was held outside. The grounds were beautifully prepped with flowers which was a beautiful backdrop for our family photos. We moved inside for the meal and gifts. The food was so incredibly delicious and the presentation was spectacular. Rosa and her staff were so professional, accommodating and very easy to work with. Every detail was planned and well executed. The whole day flowed so effortlessly. I received so many compliments from the majority of the guests stating that this was by far the most beautiful shower that they had attended. I highly recommend Cascade for any event. read more

I've had a few events at Cascade's Fine Catering but the most recent experience was absolutely superb and prompted me to write a review. Let me begin by saying Dominic is incredible. From his flexibility, eye for detail, attentive communication skills to the out of this world accommodation followed by the perfect execution... I couldn't have asked for more. I had a birthday party there for my kids with a very specific idea and hoped for a menu conducive with a "vintage carnival" theme. It was perfection! They made us homemade corn dogs- they rented us a popcorn machine which the bartender tended to without being asked and threw in lots of extras! Just fabulous! I would recommend Dominic and cascades to anyone looking for anything from a shower, to birthday party to an elegant high end wedding! They are simply hard to beat! read more

60 plus people in the basement for a Holiday Season Party! EVERYONE at my table received RARE UNDERCOOKED FILET MIGNON. Knives can't cut. Meat tastes of butter & salt and you chew ten minutes to be able to swallow. My spouse had Baked Stuffed Shrimp OVERCOOKED. UNFORTUNATELY floor above above had another event and the Music was loud as heck. Felt like were teenagers partying in the basement. read more

We came from out of town for a wedding here in February 2018, and I'm happy to say it was an excellent experience from beginning to end. The building is beautiful and tastefully appointed without being ornate or intimidating. The event started in the downstairs area where they had several high top and small 3-4 person tables arranged around a large table in the middle for hors d'oeuvres. This is a great touch because it enables older folks or those who just want to sit, while others can stand around the high-tops. The servers came around offering different platters, and all were friendly and polite without being stuffy. Once we were called upstairs for the dinner hour we entered a large formal dining area with tables arranged on either side and a dance floor in the middle. Behind us was a large double grand staircase, and the entire venue was still tastefully decorated for Christmas, with green garland and white lights arranged on the bannisters, and a large, impressive display of faux flowers in the wedding colors on the wall behind the bride and groom table. Again, the waitstaff (the same from downstairs and the coatcheck) were impressively friendly and accommodating without being rude or stuffy. Food was above average (This is my fourth wedding in the past 8 months), with a nicely done salad and tortellini being the highlights. My only less than positive feedback about the entire experience would be around the dinner service - the food came out inconsistently, so some people were finished eating while others continued; I was also surprised they had no vegetarian offering (to be fair, this could've been the responsibility of the wedding party/planners). The lighting was used expertly to highlight the great-looking wood dance floor as the ceremony progressed and the staff continued to be attentive during the desert and coffee service. I noticed the manager standing out of the way but nearby at each stage of the event, and wish I had taken a second to acknowledge the excellence of the experience to him. This was for an out-of-state cousin's wedding so I doubt we'll have the chance to return to this place again though if I lived nearby I'd strongly recommend it to anyone with a wedding or other special event that they want to get right. read more

When my (then, future) husband pulled up to Cascade, we walked into the ballroom and I immediately told him "this will be where we have our wedding". From the beautiful chandeliers to the gorgeous double staircase, my fairytale wedding dreams were coming true before my eyes. Rosa and her team made sure our wedding day would be the most perfect day, ever. The food was delicious, the service was on-point, and the drinks were flowing all night long for everyone. The Mac and cheese bar and beef Wellington puffs during cocktail hour are a MUST! Delicious. Last minute we requested to rent beautiful "king and queen" style chairs with a silver tablecloth, and Rosa was able to assist us immediately to finalize all of our details! I'm a newly engaged and new to planning a wedding and to be honest Cascades customer service has been horrible. I had to reach out to Domenic MULTIPLE TIMES and he still has not reached out to me in return. I heard from my Other brides who are looking around and who have looked at Cascade and said that they are very rude to deal with. Thank you Cascade for making my decision to go with The WoodWinds in Branford just that much easier. I will be letting other brides know how poor you are with communication. read more

My wedding was the absolute most amazing experience ever because of Cascade. Not only did they go out of their way to make sure my day was perfect, they went above and beyond to ensure it was more than that. Domenic planned everything with us from beginning to end. 10+ stars. Had my wedding here this past weekend. Throughout the months of planning, Alexa was so helpful during the WHOLE process. On our wedding day Alexa (and Rosa) were there making sure everything ran smoothly before and after the ceremony and during the reception. Everything was perfect and beautiful. Food was delicious and there was a lot of it! Our guests told us that it was one of the best weddings they've been to in a long time! We wouldn't have changed a thing! I went to a party here yesterday, and it was wonderful. Now I can't comment on how they were to work with in terms of planning the event, or how their prices are, because I was a guest. But the party they put on was a blast. This is a lovely venue with outside and inside facilities. We were downstairs for the start and upstairs for the main event, and both were roomy and well decorated. The food was excellent, from apps through dinner stations, to dessert. The bathrooms were very clean. The service staff polite and helpful. All in all, it was lovely. If I lived in the area and had a wedding or a function to make I would definetely go talk to these people. They know what they are doing. read more

This venue is amazing. Not only did they meet all the Covid -19 requirements they exceeded all expectations. From the moment we brought all the decorations and supplies to the clean up at the end -Rosa and her staff were kind, helpful and efficient. Just attended an outdoor bridal shower, it was perfect. Socially distant and very organized. There were about 50 guest on the patio, plenty of space with the extra tables needed to properly distance . Manicured grounds just beautiful. Food was outstanding as well as the service! Highly recommend this venue. We held our high school reunion here and it was wonderful. First of all, we worked with Dominic and he was so competent and accommodating that it made the planning very easy. We needed lots of advice and flexibility, and he was the right person. That night everything went fabulously. Marissa from their staff was amazing. She orchestrated the flow efficiently and professionally even though she had to adjust for us a few times. No matter what we wanted, she accommodated us. The entire serving staff was great. It is a "no-worries" service place. The staff helps you with everything. Even suggestions for decorations though we did not need much. It is already gorgeous. Upscale and well laid out. Landscaping is beautiful. Plenty of parking and Cascade is very easy to find (right off a major road/91). The big highlight was the food. Amazing presentation and so yummy. Everything was perfect, We received countless compliments on the quality and quantity. Long time members of our planning committee said that this is the first time that there was not one compliant about the food. And this was our 45th and we have one every 5 years! Impressive job by the chef and staff here for sure. We already decided to go back here for our next event and many people are going there for the holiday parties Cascade does each year that are put on for/open to the public at large . read more

Every father wants the best for their daughter. And Cascade delivered the best atmosphere, service, food and ambiance for my daughter's wedding at Cascade on the 21st of September 2019. Cascade delivered a top notch service. The "all in one place" facility is an excellent venue and exuberates excellence everywhere. The wedding ceremony was held on the property in the flower garden, a very picturesque setting. The reception was in a spacious foyer adjoining the cascading waterfalls outside, just beautiful! Dinner was held in the ballroom that can seat 500 + people; we had 160 people and the tables were laid out in such a way that the ball room felt full with plenty of room for dancing. The food was of excellent quality and taste. The open bar was very well stocked. The sound system was amazing. The wait staff was very polite, efficient and always there and available. We received many compliments from our guests thanking us for a wonderful time of celebration. Big kudos to you Alexa for all your help. You are the best!! read more

Cascade has become one of my favorite catering facilities in the Greater New Haven area. I have attended several events at Cascade from brunches to luncheons to galas and the ambiance is always lovely, service is prompt and the food is always quite good. I will say though, that there is not a great deal of variety in the menu offerings. I feel I have had the same meal every time I have attended an event here, so that is definitely an area for improvement. Beyond that, there isn't much to complain about. I can only speak to the experience of someone attending an event at the facility. I am not sure what the behind the scenes experience is like for those planning an event at Cascade. read more

I've been to many venues and I think I'd rather get catering from subway then here. The food doesn't look or taste appealing at all. After two weddings I dread being booked there again. This is the best wedding hall possible. Stick with Rosa and she will make any occasion a great experience! My brothers' wedding was this past August and Rosa took charge and was exactly like a wedding planner! She is so sweet, helping with anything necessary to make the occasion a success! The venue is phenomenal! We catered from outside, so I do not know how their food tastes however the staff is really great and professional. The owner of the hall is usually at every event sitting by the fountain as it is deep and he wants to make sure the kids are safe. Overall, very professional staff and a breathtaking hall. I can not believe that there could be any better place to have your reception than Cascade. My daughter's wedding was on April 11th and I can't even begin to say how truly incredible the day was. Their guests can not stop talking about the way the room looked, the appetizers, the carving stations, the dinners, and, of course, the top notch liquor! Rosa - you are AMAZING!!! You made Tara and Nick feel so special and paid attention to every detail. You do this for a living, but they felt like they were the only ones you've ever done this for! We visited Cascade Fine Catering to attend a wedding reception. The parking lot has a selected amount of spaces available meaning any additional guests need to park on the grass, side of the road, or receive bus transport to the location. The building is beautiful with large areas indoors for a cocktail hour and dining. The cocktail/bar setup allows for multiple guests to acquire drinks in a timely manner. The dance floor area works well for weddings with less than 100 guests. Cascade is a lovely place for a special event; however, consider appropriate space for your guests when inviting and seating. read more

Attended a wedding here over the weekend. The food was great and the layout was nice. There is a foyer area by the bar with little bistro tables which is a nice lounge type area. This may seem like a strange comment but the bathrooms were very nice with a large area for fixing your hair etc. read more

Beautiful facility! I recently attended a wedding there and can say, with certainty, this is where my wedding will be next year! The atmosphere was beautiful and the gardens around the waterfall/fountain area are gorgeous. Our waitress did make a mistake but corrected it immediately and the food was awesome. They had this delicious sweet chicken dish that I had to force myself not to fill up on. The bar was well-stocked and the drinks were perfectly made. Absolutely no line at the bar, like most weddings have. The coordinator must have planned everything perfectly and you could tell that communication between staff (mainly bar staff) and guests was comfortable and enjoyable. I am a bride to be and I am so grateful that I have selected this venue for our wedding. My fiancé and I, along with my sister and her boyfriend went to the food tasting this past Nov in 2015 and we were all blown away with the incredible food they have served us. We have tried the prime rib, chicken Florentine and salmon, and samples! It was so delicious. I know our guests will love the food and I can not wait to get married in this beautiful place in 2016! I had my wedding at cascade almost 10 years ago this year ! It is a place I often think of. I couldn't of imagined a more perfect setting, elegance, or phenomenal staff tending to our every need. Cascade hosted our Sacred Heart Father/Daughter Liturgy Breakfast for 180 people and it was truly amazing. What a beautiful facility. Rosa assisted with the menu and did a great job letting me know how everything would work. Upon arrival you could smell the homemade Belgium waffles as you walked in the door. All the food was hot and tasted amazing. They were able to accommodate one of the girls who had an allergy. The day went flawless thanks to Rosa and her team. Thank you Cascade!!! read more

We had our wedding at Cascade on 10/22/17 and we couldn't be happier with how the day went. The venue itself is beautiful and well maintained and everything from the food, flowers at the ceremony sites and staff were wonderful. Rosa was our coordinator and she was Great!! honestly she made things simple, always smiling and even assisted with the invitations. You can tell that they enjoy the work they do. There are no words to say how wonderful my daughter's wedding was at the Cascade this past weekend. The process began over a year ago and from the start Rosa was the ultimate in professionalism and attention to detail. The venue itself is stunning... the light interior, the undefined wooden floor which allows large dancing space, the downstairs cocktail party area spilling out onto a lovely shaded patio and gardens, the staircase for very fun and dramatic introductions..everything is beautiful. Both the cocktail hour with plentiful pasta, raw bar, carvery, and passed treats and the main plated meal were beautifully presented and delicious..as was the ice cream bar for dessert! The staff was also very professional and we used Flowers by Danielle and Lights, Camera, DJ which are recommended vendors who also were excellent. It was just an amazing wedding.. so fun, friendly, organized, warm and wonderful in every way. The only problem was that the celebration went by too fast ! read more

Just attended a wedding here last night. Decor was impeccable, everything was super clean, including the bathrooms. Cocktail hour was just amazing, and the entree portions were extremely generous. By the time the wedding was over I wasn't sure I'd ever want to eat again! Cascade is a venue you must seriously consider for your next event! The venue itself is easy to find, with plenty of parking. The building and grounds are well maintained and there are pretty photo opportunities everywhere. There is plenty of space inside and you have options for different sized rooms to use. The food is terrific in both quality and presentation. Our guests raved about the food throughout our wedding. Guests actually posted photos on Facebook of their food! There are lots of choices for food and beverages, too. The staff is very friendly, experienced, and accommodating. They helped us solve bustle problems and mobility issues with incredible kindness and expertise. They gave us smart advice to help make our vision a reality, including recommendations for entertainment, photography, and the bakery. The prices are reasonable and there are so many packages and customizable options that you can work within your budget. I am so glad we had our wedding here! read more

They gave told us to arrive for 9am and someone would open the door and then no one arrived till 9:45am. Hair and make up were stalled. Domenic told us we could get champagne during getting ready and Rosa who was there that day said no we can not. They gave us a pitcher of water with no cups. We had to go down stairs to their offices to ask for assistance they were not available otherwise. They did not tell us ahead of time when showing us around that confetti, balloons, or real rose petels would not be allowed indoors. During the ceramony (indoors) they did not put the airconditioning on and i had to ask for water before I stated my vows. I almost fainted. Other bridesmaids felt the same and the guests later complained to me as well. Because of feeling over heated during the ceramony it took away from the actual moment of getting married. They were no where to be found during the reception. There was no communication between domenic and rosa so everything was confusing and a mess. It was awful. read more
