That said, while the food and atmosphere were enjoyable, in my opinion you can find better deals elsewhere in Rio for a similar dining experience. It's a good spot if you're looking for friendly service and a comfortable setting, but if value for money is your priority, it might be worth exploring other options as well.

Came here with reservations and was immediately taken back by the bright colors and decor. We were immediately greeted and seated by hostess. Once walking in, you are IMMEDIATELY mesmerized by the elaborate and yes, over the top decorations in this restaurant. I mean a full car just on the side of a wall, ships every where, many Louis Vuitton bags hanging from the ceiling. IT was the MOST unique restaurants Ive ever been in and I was in an underwater restaurant in Dubai. The ladies bathroom is covered with coffee beans on the floor with a very big and unique Lips on the wall Service - 100 out 10!!! I hardly ever touched my plate. As I ventured out to the buffet, the second I was heading to my table, a server took my plate and walked it to my table for me, all while pulling out my seat. I noticed that each table had a different flag on it and realized that the server took note of where each patron was from and placed a flag on their table so servers can know what language they speak. My bag was zipped tied to my chair seconds after i sat down. Food - Food was in abundance of everything!! Lobsters, filet mignon, calamari, mussels...EVERYTHING! Food was pretty good. Very unique restaurant, A+ service. If in Rio, TRY IT!

It is VERY popular and I'm sure being recommended by Bourdain has a lot to do with it. The first time we tried to eat there the wait was over an hour long. We went sometime after 1AM and there was still a decent wait, maybe close to 30 minutes. The place is pretty small and cramped, but that gives it some charm. Somehow that makes the food taste even better. We ordered a little bit of everything and it was all amazing. Chicken, steak, fries, garlic bread, polenta. It was all cooked and seasoned to perfection. Everything we ordered was delicious Service was fair and prices are reasonable. Do yourself a favor and visit Galeto Sat's!

It's a solid restaurant that serves up pretty good chicken. In fact I ate here twice in a week, the first time to try it out and the second time because it was late at night and they are open until 5AM. Both times I was here it was timed right and I didn't have to wait for a table. The employees were accommodating to a tourist like myself who has a limited Portuguese vocabulary. They also have English language menus although I do like to navigate a menu in another language just to see what I can recognize. Both times I had the chicken with the garlic and pepper sauce as well as pão de alho. The chicken was perfect, juicy and very flavorful. And plenty of garlic. The garlic bread was delicious and had plenty of garlic. I love garlic so it was great for me but I can see some people saying it may be too much garlic. Batatas fritas were good as well. There was more I wanted to try but I will definitely be back the next time I am in Rio de Janeiro. This place has been around for decades so it should still be around on my next visit.

Fogo has its service down to a science and seating as well as waiter service is pretty seamless. I was surprised that attentiveness to refilling water and anything other than meat was not up to the standard that I have experienced at other Brazilian steakhouses. The meat itself was plentiful, however, more inconsistent than I would have liked. One serving of Filet Mignon was delicious, flavorful and perfectly cooked, while the next was surprisingly overly cooked (to the point of not being tasty or even chewable). Salad bar is impressive and offerings were fresh and varied. I would have liked a few more protein options in the salad bar (such as fish or shrimp). Overall, a beautiful restaurant - but consistency of food could be improved.

The options were vast, the flavor was unlike others that I've tried, and I absolutely liked the other locations. Besides the meats they brought out other rodizio options I've never had before and I genuinely enjoyed it. They also had good bottles of red wines that couldn't be resisted. The tres leches was arguably the best I've ever had. And it all turned out to be relatively inexpensive after the currency conversion.
