They say that "All mexican restaurant are the same", I royalty disagree !! CASA tequila is an authentic piece of Mexico in Algonquin. Service and their staff are incredible and just gives you that over all feeling that its going to be ok as we will provide that outstanding services that they know us for. Its flavor is authentic, and the environment well you need to visit to get the feeling. To start a Michelada, well sorry two. We ordered a plate to share and it's flavor, well I am not a fan of Nopales but they changed my mind. And to end our meal, a flan for those with a sweet tooth. The catrinas paintings, the music ( just a little to much mariachi but for those how want the experience you will love it), the seating and just the over all establishment gives you that feeling of warmth, care, and service that only true mexicans can give.

Update- Wife and I returned for a sit down dinner. Not what we experienced last time for our pickup order let me tell ya. Walk in hostess arguing with customer...? We wait patiently at the front bartender says it's a 40 minute wait. Restaurant doesn't look that full, wife and I walk out to figure out what to do. We go back in and ask the hostess girl to leave our number for a place in line to which she responded we can't do that? I asked her why she can't take my name or number and she replied that they probably could but she doesn't do that? 10 seconds later a man walks out says table for 2 and walks us to the back with plenty of open tables. Gets us chips and salsa and asks for our drinks. Returns with drinks and didn't come back to table for like 40 minutes. Finally he comes back we order the quesabirria tacos on flour get me a refill and only returned almost a hour later for simple quesabirria tacos. Now after this long wait we were hungry and the first bite my wife gets a huge piece of fat. Ok maybe a fluke is what we thought. Then I bit into mine and another huge piece of fat. After inspection all 6 tacos had some piece of fat in them. Disgusting. Very disappointed. 6 fat filled quesabirria tacos and one $3.50 fountain drink came out to $49 before tip. I was happy paying that price when I got quality food during out first experience at this restaurant for a pickup order but the actual dine-in experience and food was 3 star worthy at most. Still good portions and the waiter was nice he was actually the only one actively doing his job but I can't excuse the fat filled birria tacos for the price. 2 Stars

Decent food. Good prices. Portions are great. The chicken tortilla soup could feed 4.

    Picture $20 Burrito..Really?

I walked in to get a Burrito today. I placed my order for a "Mucho Grande Burrito". I was told it was Big and it came a side of Rice & Beans. I received my order, brought it home. I opened the bag to see what I paid over $20 Bucks for and this is what I got(Picture). Didn't seem "Big" and was missing the sides. I called to speak to the Manager due to it missing the rice & beans and after the Manager spoke to the cook, he was insistent that rice and beans were added. So I'm not seeing it? I hopped back into the car, headed back up there. Spoke to the Manager and the guy behind the counter now says that he had said the rice and beans were inside the burrito and that he didn't say that they were Sides. So now I'm a liar twice. So for a burrito that isn't the size of a Chipotle Burrito that I'm paying twice the cost for, I then got insulted...Twice! Wow! I won't be back. I'll stick with El Fuego, Taqueria El Tio Ramos or my favorite, El Faros.

The lovely owners instantly make you feel like family, offering fantastic recommendations as well as the history behind their family restaurant. If you are lucky, they will even create a special plate based on Juan's recommendation and your taste buds! Some of our favorites have included Camerones à la Diabla (or diabla crema), queso fundió con chorizo (!!!!), carne buena vista, and the fajitas mixtas. Perfectly seasoned meats, authentic sides, and delicious homemade sauces! We always have leftovers which somehow taste even more amazing the next day! Amazing! And don't get me started on the margaritas!! While the strawberry is my favorite, the mango, peach, and OG lime are all amazing! As a Los Angeles native, it is amazing to have finally found a spot that brings me a taste of home with such friendly warmth! I have recommended Buena Vista to all my friends and coworkers and you better believe I will keep preaching because it is THAT GOOD!

Also, they have Modelo on tap. That is great. I had the shrimp fajita, and my wife had the taco platter. Both were slightly missing. The shrimp seemed to be subpar tasting (I think they use a lower quality shrimp) and the whole platter was drowning in oil, and was highly underseasoned. My wife's tacos: the Cocinita was really salty! I like salt, don't get me wrong, but that is all you taste, then the cocinita taste finally comes in after a few minutes... that's really bad...The Carne was the opposite (totally bland) , and she had a chorizo which was a bad brand of a chorizo. (I'd say Supremo Chorizo is much better taste than this, and Supremo has nothing but filler in it). Very disappointing. Whatever vendor you're using, cancel them, they're doing you a huge disservice. All that for $73. Our server was very nice and she was very attentive. That's the reason why we did tip her 20%. When she asked about the food, he said it was great. We didn't want her to feel bad. She didn't cook it. & Why cause a scene? It was edible, but we're not coming back. Sorry, we arrived at 3 PM, before the rush scene at 5 PM. So there really was no excuse. You need to taste your food cooks... I am sure there are many who don't know the difference, but I've been to Many Mexican restaurants; including in Mexico. No not your vacation hotspots. I'm talking the real parts of Mexico. (Like Coyocan, (the outskirts in f Mexico City), Merida, Jalisco....etc... There's a huge difference.... ) So, we will still be driving far to find a great Mexican restaurant. The two that I still recommend are La Mera Mera in Libertyville and El Rodero in Streamwood. Both are small little places, but so well worth the trips.. So: They are the closest we can find to being authentic and care for the food they serve.... On to our next suburban hidden find if possible...Good luck!
