I wouldn't recommend this place. The food was not good. I had this potato tacos, which I thought they couldn't mess those up but they had no flavor and the tortilla was soggy on the bottom. It's been awhile since I ate so thought I would see if any improvements have been implemented. Unfortunately, NO! Hostess was at the front desk when I arrived, but on the phone. I know she saw me since we were facing each other. I waited a couple of min for her to complete her call, when it became apparent that was not going to happen anytime soon I started drumming my fingers on the counter and tried to flag down a waiter, waitress or bar tender. That is when she handed me a menu and gestured toward some tables. I took the menu then sat at a table where I could observe her to see how long she was going to remain on the phone. My waitress, Nicole greeted me soon after I sat down and took my drink order. My drink was delivered fairly quickly and my meal order was taken. I had to ask for the "complimentary" chips and salsa. Y entre was delivered in a timely manner. Rice and beans cold, meat and zucchini over cooked to the point of onions and some of the meat burned. Still eatable otherwise I would have sent it back. The best part of this visit was Nicole. Very friendly and checked on me multiple times. Hostess was on the phone during my whole visit and treated other customers much the same way she treated me. I believe this is one of the best Mexican restaurants in Laughlin. We had an amazing experience and our server was super engaging and took very good care of all of our requests. Although I can't remember his name, I know he was a huge Star Wars fan. The chips and salsa were delicious. The chips were freshly made and the salsa was also very fresh. The salsa had a little spice but wasn't too spicy. I wasn't super hungry so I just had a taco. The tortilla was freshly fried and very crispy. My husband had the enchilada plates which was also very good. The ingredients were of good quality and the flavor had a slight new Mexican taste. We love the ambience in this restaurant. It was very festive and you could tell they took pride in the decor. Was like we were transported into a wonderful fiesta! I went to Casa Serrano inside the Don Laughlin casino in Laughlin, Nevada, and overall it was okay. The food was pretty basic not bad, but not really good either, if that makes sense. It didn't really stand out or feel like memorable meal. What really made the experience better though was the staff. The server and employees were amazing super friendly, attentive, and welcoming to our big loud Mexican family lol so over all the service definitely make up for the food. The view was really nice, and I loved the decor. It was cute, bright, and had a lively vibe. It wasn't busy at all when I went, but I'm sure it probably gets packed during the summer since it's in Laughlin. I'd say it's a decent spot for the atmosphere and service. read more

This is the worst Mexican restaurant I have tried in years. We are from San Diego which has many fine Mexican restaurants and there are a lot more just south of us in Tijuana, but Cafe Serrano was truly a memorable bad experience, the worst restaurant of any kind we have experienced in Laughlin or Bullhead City. The waiter kept forgetting about us, forgetting straws, sauce, and dressing. The frijoles refritos tasted like salt. The carne asada I had with my verde salad tasted like it was made from the hide of a horse headed to the glue factory. It was overpriced as well. It seems like the food quality has gone down. My food was cold. My taco had very little in it. I was not offered refills on my drink. when we arrived We waited at least five minutes to be seen and someone finally came and made the comment of we can't block the entry way cause people go in and out was said to us, which I found to be very rude. Maybe instead of letting people pile up at the front waiting to be seated maybe you should have somebody standing there at all times to make sure it doesn't get backed up. We went out for our annual Super Bowl trip, and we'd been going 1,000 MPH for a couple of days by the time we decided to have a good dinner at Casa Serrano. We really hoped for good service by a food server that didn't rush us and made sure everything was just right. We had a perfect meal and our server, Marissa, was ideal. She gave us time to wind down and talk and relax and recover a bit. Marissa knew when it was time to refill our drinks, when it was time to bring our meals and when it was time to check on us. Few servers really know how to pace themselves like that. Marissa was wonderful, professional and personable. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We, happily, took care of her as she took care of us. We headed back to San Diego with a smile on our faces thanks to this important break time at Casa Serrano! read more

The food has no seasoning. Everything is bland except the chips and salsa. They have a "hot" salsa that has a nice bite at the end. I had the carne asada plate and the carne asada had absolutely no seasoning on it, not even salt. My girlfriend had the Godfather burrito and the same thing. Very bland. Our waitress was horrible. After getting our drinks and taking our order, she never came back until she brought the food out. We wanted more chips and salsa and had to wave the busboy over and ask him to get us more. Once the food was brought to us, didn't see the waitress again. We sat for 10-15 minutes after finishing before she came over and checked on us. We asked for the check and after bringing it to us, she set it on the table and walked away. We didn't know if she was coming back to get payment or what. The food isn't exactly top tier Mexican but it's still good. The chips and salsa was good. They give about 3 different salsa, ranging from not spicy to real spicy. It was nice! I got the pick 3: shredded beef enchilada, crunchy chicken taco, and 2 taqutos. I likes all 3 but the taco was the best. Just needed some extra flavor via the salsa. Got the guacamole appetizer. It was gone in 5 minutes. My whole group got the pick three except one who got the street tacos. She was not impressed. The rest were happy with their order. The service was excellent. Not just to be sat but to be tended to for orders and drinks etc. Second time we did a turn around trip at the Don Laughlin's Riverside resort, but we were sat quickly bc we arrived for nearly dinner. Both times the food was meh! The first time my service was an awful. We had to remind them it was my brother birthday three times. They did a horrible rendition of birthday and the employees seemed to hate their jobs. The second time the man was nicer, but I could tell he was just trying to upsell us on the plates or drinks. The house sangria, not amazing. Subpar at best. The michelada, pretty basic. For the prices and the "authentic" sell they give you the food and drinks were not great. Over priced, under flavored, and over cooked. My carne asada was along the texture of jerky. The sauces felt very much like canned sauces and same with the beans. The Bandera was totally upsold to us but the sauces and meat were not fresh or tasty. Nothing tasted authentic. Or fresh. Except, the rice was good. I apologize for the review but I wasn't a fan. And both times we've gone, the service is just, not great. That's always a sign that management isn't great and probably treats their employees poorly. Other than that beautiful interior design and window seats aren't bad views of the streets or mountains. I did give it a second chance but won't be returning. Worst seating system ever.Will not return. Rather than seating parties or taking names on a list, you are directed to stand in a line outside the restaurant. A hostess will appear at random times, about every ten minutes or so, and ask the first party in line how many people they have. Then she disappears back inside and eventually returns to take them in. Then the process starts again. After 30 minutes, they'd only taken in three parties. We left. read more

Salsa wasn't spicy at all. Their "spicy" was not even spicy and had a weird taste to it as well. The taquitos were SO PLAIN. They had no lettuce, no cheese, no sour cream. Nothing on them. They said they could only do beef. So gross. They're like the frozen taquitos. Which I'm 100% sure they are the frozen kind. We also got a "taco" and I was thinking it was a street taco but WRONG it was a crispy taco with lettuce and yellow cheese. Honestly who puts yellow cheese on tacos ? Our bartender was nice and helpful with the drinks. We never got napkins until after we got our drinks. After eating, We were waiting for the check and she was talking with host. Came here with family and friends almost 10 years ago and now we have to eat here every time we're in town. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu but our favorites are anything with steak and of course their menudo. We came in here for a quick margarita and appetizer and had a great experience. At first the hostess was a little abrasive but once we got sat our server was awesome. Also a shout out to the employee who was refilling chips and salsa, she was so nice. We ended up getting the fajitas to share and it was good. We call this type of Mexican food "a plate of slop". Not in a derogatory manner at all. Just describing American Mexican food where you get a combo meal with 2 or 3 items, rice and beans. It is served on a huge plate that is about the temperature of the sun and all the food just kind of blends together. A pro move is to use chips as a form and just chow down. We both got a combo with cheese enchilada and chile releno. Not at all "authentic Mexican " but pretty darned good. And good service and salsa. $33 for 2. Not bad at all read more

Festive! Great atmosphere and décor! But wow is that line ridiculous at times. Way too long of a wait, in our opinion. If there's a line we tend to head on over to some other place to eat. I mean, it's good but not long-wait worthy. Decent Mexican food though, no real complaints, just average. They do offer a huge margarita, which seems like it would be super fun. Well, it is served with maybe a drop of tequila (we've tried asking for an additional shot, still couldn't tell). I think I've tried just about everything on the menu that was in my wheelhouse and although not disappointing, it just wasn't anything extra or special. Wet burritos and enchiladas are good and tacos are also pretty good. I mean, honestly, it is all about the ambiance here.
