I had heard about this place a long time ago from friends and, despite being at Elisabethmarkt regularly, never managed to get here. Finally three years on, I decided to drop in for lunch and, was slightly disappointed.
It's a small cafe / deli that is located at one end of the market and makes fresh pasta and sandwiches etc. They have takeaway food, as well as, a few tables inside and out for dining at the cafe. It's usually packed during lunch hour and they serve different items daily.
I decided to opt for the vegetarian pasta with mozzarella and fresh tomato, for lunch. It took a while to get the dish, as the chef was busy preparing a number of orders. The pasta unfortunately lacked flavour and, the pasta was really sticky, a sign of old pasta or not cooked and cut well. I can only assume the chef was rushed and did not pay enough attention to the dish.
I will try this place one more time before making up my mind. It's a nice little shop with friendly staff, however, the food was lacking in flavour. It's about €10 for a plate of pasta and a drink which is ok. They make their own pasta and perhaps trying something different might yield a different result. read more
