If you have dreamed of renovating your home into a Pinterest perfect wonderland, this is your store. A lot of their items are very old-fashioned...you can find handmade paper, stopwatches, Victorian era-esque books...some really cool finds. It's a large shop, and there is even a small children's section in the back with a table and coloring books. Home decor, knick knacks...This is a great place to shop for gifts too. Of course I was surrounded by my dear Yelp friends, so the conversation was lively and entertaining. In the background, music played. Barney Miller did an excellent job adding to the ambiance with tunes that added to, without overpowering, the socializing. The food.... oh the food!!!!!! Appetizers were exceptional! The grilled squash was a weight conscious girl's dream! And WHAT was the marinade on that steak?!?!? The burgers were yummy, salad was fresh and crisp, but in my opinion, the grilled Mac and cheese was the show stopper. The crust of Panko and seasoned parmesan was a flavorful, texture surprise. I almost liked it better than my grandmas..shhhh!!!! My list of "I Wants" now includes: a Green Egg grill, an outdoor sectional, and an outdoor sound system!!!!

World Market is one of my favorite stores. I've been in sort of mourning since moving to Kentucky…read morefive years ago that there was no World Market nearby. THEN. I found out last month that World Market was opening in Lexington. Upon hearing that, I just had to come here as soon as I could. Fortunately, I had a doctor appointment in Lexington the day before they had their Grand Opening and was able to stop in to poke around and pick up a few goodies. It was such a delight to walk through these doors. This location is clean, spacious, and pleasing to walk around. World Market offers tiny shopping carts with seats for kids which was the perfect size for browsing with my toddler. And since it was around opening day, there were many people available to help me. I swooned over the macrame plant holders, the woven rugs and baskets, the international foods & treats, the simple and affordable kitchenware, coffee mugs, candles, the Christmas decor (unlike anywhere else), the nostalgic toys, the throw pillows, the quirky gifts, and more. It's kind of an eclectic store -- with a mix of international and fun. When it comes to gifts, you can probably find something for everyone here. They also have dining tables, chairs, couches, lamps, and other such furniture and decor for homes. Think mid-century modern. These are all a bit on the pricier side. (Not everything is in store - you can look online and get a better idea of these offerings.) If my entire home could be decorated with World Market, that would be amazing. We left with about $60 worth of gifts, marzipan, ornaments, and other trinkets for the holidays. I wasn't even planning to spend any money. Oops. I'll have to space out my visits so my credit cards don't rack up too much debt...
