We have had nothing but good experiences here. The food is pretty decent, and they have a great meat department.

Even after asking a worker to assist, he kindly did so but also missed it. He probably didn't realize that the container had changed either but just as we gave up, I noticed it on a lower shelf. Hopefully, this "new" pepper performs as anticipated. It is a small stored with a reasonable variety of cultural finds. I have no idea why I was surprised to find a restaurant in the back - a pleasant surprise no less. Perhaps I may order when I next pass through. The ok review is only because I have yet to try anything from the store, however, they were willing to assist, checkout was fast and easy, and I was able to purchase what I was looking for.

DO NOT BELIEVE THE LOW RATING!…read more This place has by far the largest selection of Nigerian groceries and the BEST Jollof in the city! I went there yesterday after not knowing that this location was here! My boyfriend and i are from Houston so we are very familiar with the locations there. But when we heard it was here and has been here for YEARS, we felt robbed because we could have been eating good Nigerian food all along! The jollof is so flavorful and has that classic smoky party jollof taste we like! Plus a plate of jollof comes with your choice of beef, chicken, or fish on top. The cherry on top it is only $7.99!!!! Best deal in Austin for sure. We also like the suya at the Houston locations but we missed it here (they tend to run out fast because they are sooo good) Do not go anywhere else for affordable delicious Nigerian food!

Guests stroll the gorgeous grounds of Barr Mansion while enjoying live music, nibbling on locally sourced cuisine and sipping adult beverages. This year it was great seeing so many local beverages provided by Argus Cidery, Glazers, Hops & Grain, Independence Brewing Co., Saint Arnold Brewing Company, Tipsy Texan, and Zhi Tea. From savory to sweet the chefs prepared creative cuisine to share with guests. The portions are small enough to sample many of what the restaurants are serving yet large enough that one's appetite is satisfied as the event comes to an end. Some of my favorites dishes were: Italic - walnut olive oil cake with mascarpone and blackberry. I loved that this dessert was more savory vs sweet. Lick Ice Cream - Roasted beet & mint Ice cream with honey cream, goat cheese and chocolate waffle. Delysia Chocolate - Raspberry truffle; potato, smoked cheese, bacon and chive truffle. I don't know how chocolatier Nicole Pitel comes up with these flavors but she's a genius! The Bribery Bakery - strawberry lime brown butter blondie. This was my first time trying Jodi Elliot's sweets and I was incredibly impressed. Eden East - Hay smoked red fish with pickled garlic chip, lemon confit, dill kennebec potato pancake and crispy fish skin. Bonneville - savory Korean style braised lamb steamed buns. The company I work for purchases a table to this event every year through a co-op partner as they believe in SFC's mission and services they provide our community. SFC empowers adults and children to grow their own food by providing education and resources. Their nationally recognized Happy Kitchen program is a cooking and nutrition education program that helps grows skills in food selection and preparation. SFC also has a Farm Direct program which brings together local growers, schools, urban residents, and institutional food service operations worksites in demand of fresh produce through weekly SFC Farmers' Markets and direct marketing projects, such as farm-to-cafeteria, farm-to-school, and farm-to-work. Events like the Farm to Plate put money back into this wonderful organization.

We're talking ten years folks and just a couple of interactions. Still, super sweet lady. Her kiddos Max and Cosmo even spent some time with then little Rooster back in the day. My review is purely based on her creations. Been wanting to try A.K.A Mixology forever. Thing is the farmers market locations she chose to sell at were far away from my ranch in Driftwood. Enter recently founded Desert Door Distillery that's actually on my street in Driftwood. After a couple of weeks of visiting and sampling the drinks I went ahead and suggested AKA without ever trying the mixers. Alicia dropped by the distillery and picked up a bottle of sotol to match flavors. When she returned...OMG...I can't even imagine the thought process in creating what she produced. Immediate fave being the tamarind which was introduced to our continent in the 16th century. Heavily popular in Mexico and South America it was a perfect match. Next fave would be the hurricane mixer eventually called "Desert Storm" at the distillery. Heck, all of her offerings were top notch! Austin bars and restaurants take notice! Just like y'all head to the farmers market for local veggies; take a moment and stop by AKA's booth and consider her for the front of house libations. Personally, glad my tenure in Yelp land could make this happen. I combined a business that I'd always wanted to try with a new neighborhood venture that I'm a regular at. I'll drive wherever AKA is selling it's wares!
