Visited Casa Frida and tequila tasted at 10:15 in the morning. We know how to have fun. This was a great experience that paired 4 tequilas with flavored enhanced citrus that took each tequila to another level. Our server Angel was a wealth of knowledge and provided good pours along with bottled water accompanied with a glass with ice. We pretty much had the place to ourselves and the sofa area was indeed comfortable. We are not that knowledgeable when it comes to tequila but left with a better understanding of the spirit. The location is gorgeous and has a world class restaurant on the premises. Tequila tasting runs $32 per person and worth every penny. We had so much fun and will for sure return for another visit.
THE BIG: Located in the Valle de Guadalupe wine region of Baja California. This place is super vibey with Frida Kahlo plastered everywhere. Beautiful property as well. Plenty of parking in the lot and right off the road. THE BLACK AND WHITE: This was our last winery stop before we head to our Airbnb and it did not disappoint. The grounds are beautiful with so many instagrammable spots. You got the blue houses, the grapevines, the butterfly garden. You name it, you could probably grab a pretty sick photo. We went down into the tasting room to grab a tasting. It's super informal and it shares the tasting room with the bar and a store. Weird but I guess it works. For wines, we tried a red blend, a GSM, syrah and nebbiolo. My favorite was the syrah. The fruit tasted very nice and well balanced on a hot summer day. THE FINAL BAMBOO: The wine tasting here was around 550 MXN for a tasting of four wines but the last wine you got to revisit was a full pour. Great time here for the vibes.
My husband and I stopped here for a wine tasting! I came here a number of years ago and remembering having such an amazing experience. Some things have changed but overall the quality and service is still 10 out of 10. We ordered the wine tasting that is also company with a chocolate pairing. Which was such an amazing and unique pairing experience! This stop is definitely a must if you're visiting via, that is a ton of picture worthy spots and amazing tasting wines.
Love Frida's, Corazon D'Petras is one of my favorite restaurants to go to in Valle. Food here is soo good. I recommend on doing their fixed menu to get a good experience of their top foods. Their tortilla soup is a must. Service is definitely above and beyond and the ambiance is more on the chill side. There are two other restaurants on the property along with a rooftop area. Would definitely recommend on putting this place on your list of wineries to visit.
Casa Frida may be one of the best of the 4 winery's we visited. Can't wait to visit this place again next time I'm in the area. There is private wine tasting, but we did the regular wine tasting and tequila tasting. There is a club up stairs in one of the buildings. There is a very nice restaurant. A whole shop is there so you can get jewelry, trinkets, clothing, hats, and more. This is the perfect time to grab gifts if you planned on it! Going in they have security and metal detectors so definitely feels like a safe secure spot to visit. We came at night and there are tons of very nice lights on a lot of trees. Great spots for pictures. A lot of space to walk through and enjoy the space. The wine tasting & tequila tasting was different from the other places. They give you specific chocolates to pair up with specific wine as they present each bottle and tell you when to eat the chocolate with each round of wine. They did the same for the tequila tasting, except with different things to pair up like tamarindo with orange slices, cinnamon with orange slices, chocolate, and more. You can choose different tequila tastings that pair up with different sides. The waiter knew what he was talking about and presented everything nicely. I purchased a Frida wine glass for $5, not bad at all. Can't wait to try the club next time I go, it was poppin.
Went here for a birthday lunch for one of my friends with a group of 11 girls. The lunch was super delicious and reasonably priced. I got the pork tacos and they were super filling, make sure you get their chili/hot sauce because it made it so much tastier! We were sat outside on the patio and the ambiance was cute, it was defintely more of a party vibe versus an elegant winery, and more geared towards a younger crowd. They honestly didn't have a huge selection of wine on the patio, and seemed to serve liquor over wine. There are a ton of cute photo ops around the building which is a bonus. The service was friendly, but know they only take one card if you have a bigger group/cash.
Absolutely gorgeous interior and property with a fanatic tequila tasting! We went right when it opened around lunch time which ended up working out perfectly (no crowds). It looks to open up as a rooftop deck in the afternoon. Fun spot for large groups and friends.
Came to Casa Frida on a Monday at around 10:30am. We did the secreto tequila tasting and had Angel as our server! He was great, spoke english & spanish. The tequila and pairings were really good, definitely recommend. Their cat Diego was also really cute haha
This was another stop on the wine tour I went on when I was in Ensenada. I loved the decor and everything about the bar, but the service was not what I expected. Since we had a large party we sat downstairs where it was a little quieter (upstairs there was a DJ). I opted for the wine tasting and the server brought each wine out one at a time and I'm pretty sure I didn't get my 4th tasting. On top of that, he almost forgot to charge me. We had to track him down to pay. Other than that, I loved the wine and I loved the winery itself.
We visited Casa Frida for dinner and whoa! The whole venue is beautiful. Each section has its own vibe. We showed up for a late afternoon dinner so we couldn't venture out much. But the food was good and the service was awesome. Can't wait to come back and explore all the tasting rooms.
Came here on a Wednesday afternoon, and did the wine tasting so we were escorted down around the corner to the beautiful wine tasting bar. I had the chocolate + wine combination tasting and it was so amazing 10/10 recommend. Our service was awesome and the outdoor seating was beautiful and covered with trees for shade. The wines were great (I bought a bottle of the Syrah and the Stephany). The chocolate pairings were so yummy. The tasting pours here were big (half a glass of wine pour, making the tastings so well worth it here and more). The tasting consisted of 4 wines with 4 chocolate pairings for $37usd.
Casa Frida was a 1-hour drive from Rosarito and well worth the trip! Loved every minute of our visit! A perfect place to accommodate a Bachelorette party consisting of 10 girls with personalities ranging from shy & quiet to wild 'n crazy (I'm a happy medium hehe!). The venue is fabulous!! Reservations are highly recommended, which we didn't have. But, we somehow got lucky. After waiting on the 3rd floor for 30-minutes, a large table became available for wine and chocolate tasting on the 2nd floor. This tasting area sits just above the art gallery and was gorgeous. The only downside was that it was a quiet area. It wasn't very long until a few of us became loud and obnoxious, so back upstairs we went to enjoy a round of tequila tasting and dancing! Magdalena Carmen Frida Kahlo y Calderón was a groundbreaking figure in Mexican art. She was genuine and true to her beliefs. There are quite a few murals of her, so have your cameras ready! Salud!!
Lots to do and to enjoy at this location; plenty of photo ops, restaurants, bars, shops, and a few Air BnBs. You can easily spend a few hours here. We only came to grab a quick drink and then explored the area. Would like to try the restaurants the next time we visit. read more

Freezing restaurant called corazón group of 20 with reservations. No heat, waiters dressed in parkas. Drinks took forever. Could not break up checks in groups of 4. Food was overcooked, and my meal was too salty. Casa Frida wine tasting was excellent and will be covered in a separate review. read more

Ehhhhh, this place was so so, I think I had higher expectations. So we went in on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty empty still. We accidentally tried to enter through the exit and a security guard told us to go around to the other side because we needed to go through the metal detectors. So we did, and we all beeped as we went through but the employee let us go in anyway because she said the guy who checked wasn't available.. so I'm not sure what the point of us going around was for. Once in, we sat in the patio to eat. The menu isn't very large, with only a handful of options as actual entrees and a lot of seafood. The service was really good though. Our server was attentive and friendly and all the other wait staff were constantly passing by all the tables to pick up empty plates and glasses. Once finished eating we went into their tasting room just to look at their Frida paintings which were amazing. And they even have a little couch for their kitty Diego, who's so cute!! He was sleeping though so we didn't get to see him up and around. Overall, it's an ok place but with so many other options in Valle for wine, this unfortunately is not a "must stop" for me. read more

I'd say a solid 3- pretty average all around. When you walk in you are consumed with all of the pretty art and cool spots to take pictures. The staff at the front were welcoming and explained the different areas to seat/eat/drink in. We chose the Lagos area because it was hot and this area provided the most shade. Our waiter was decent. Mostly attentive. I think I had higher expectations of the drinks. The sangria was ok, and the mojito was whack. We also ordered the cheese board. I think the bees enjoyed it more than we did, as they we eating off it the whole time we sad. There were so many bees at our table it was uncomfortable. We mentioned it to the waiter, and even pointed out that they we on the food, and it was dismissed. Overall it was a cool experience. If we do go back, we will definitely make a reservation. read more

Frida was the last spot on our winery tour and is definitely more of a party scene. We started with a wine tasting, which was inside in a tasting room with decent wines but nothing that stuck out. After the tasting we were able to go upstairs to the rooftop for the dj that comes on a sunset. Super fun on the rooftop, but you should definitely try to get a reservation because there was a super long line and we just got lucky that our group was allowed up. Once up there you need to be at a table but people started to congregate by the dj at certain points. They have some great drinks - the Carajillo was a fan favorite and I also tried to order a mezcal cocktail and ended up with a champagne flute of mezcal with an orange slice (which ended up being amazing mezcal that I loved). We didn't order any food but saw others with it so they have some options. read more

Made reservations for a friend's birthday on a Friday night. Group of six.We ordered a cheese board which was pretty good! Few of us did wine for our tasting and a few of us did tequila tasting. Our server explained everything very nice throughout, very friendly and attentive. We also had reservations for dinner in the Culinary Terrace, very small but delicious menu! We ordered a few drinks, then our server recommended we get a bottle of tequila or whatever alcoholic bottle of preference. We ordered a Patron bottle and he mixed our drinks at our table. Ambiance was great! Beautiful place for pics! Hicimos reservación para celebrar el Cumpleaños de una amiga en un viernes por la noche. Éramos un grupo de 6 personas. Ordenamos un plato de quesos, estuvo riquísimo. Algunos de nosotros probamos tequila y otros probaron vino. Nuestro servidor fue muy amable, explicó todo muy bien y estuvo atento a nosotros. Igual teníamos reservación para cenar en la Terraza Culinaria, cual adquiere un menú pequeño pero todo estuvo riquísimo. Ordenamos algunas bebidas , después de algunos tragos nuestro servidor sugirió ordenáramos una botella de nuestra preferencia, cual ordenamos Tequila Patrón. Nos preparo bebidas en nuestra mes. He estado en este restaurante varias veces en el pasado y estaba feliz hasta hoy. Yo, mi novio y sus dos hijos pedimos comida. Una de las hamburguesas de los niños salió 45 minutos después de haber terminado nuestra comida. Gastamos mucho dinero en este lugar y la gerente, una mujer, se negó a darnos ningún tipo de descuento cuando me quejé y dije que es un servicio terrible y no la forma en que tratas a tus clientes. Dijo que no me importa. Tenemos muchos otros clientes entrando y saliendo de aquí todo el tiempo. Nunca recomendaría este lugar nuevamente, ni volveré, no merecen mi dinero o negocio. Estaba tan disgustado con el pésimo servicio brindado. Y la calidad de la comida hoy también fue horrible. Total Tourist trap! Will never return nor recommend after the horrible service today! Disguised by the way we were treated. Plenty of other, more quality, and hospitality available places to go! read more

Decided to switch it up from the wine tasting and did some beer tastings at casa Frida. We loved the beers, especially the ones paired with chocolates. A very unique experience. Nice gift shop. Friendly service and the location is beautiful. Would have loved to stay longer and experience the other tasting rooms. Will be back to explore more of what casa Frida has to offer. read more

Casa Frida was an incredible experience. The service was on point the food was delicious the scenery was unbelievably beautiful. We had 3 appetizers 6 glasses of wine (Chavela) two deserts for $150. Dollars. Not bad at all. Will definitely be back. read more
Y'all. This is probably the best decision I ever made coming here. The food, the vibe, the decor, and the staff were all amazing. It's so insane to travel to Mexico and feel like you're almost in Napa. I am a self proclaimed wino. I love going to wineries and I've been to several throughout all of CA. From the bay down to so cal. But NONE beat casa frida. The margarita flight was so good. I was shocked how the Serrano Chile margarita ended up being my favorite one and I thought I'd hate it. Burger was juicy and I appreciated the staff not being annoyed with me for asking for chiles every 5 minutes lol. I would come back here solely for this place. read more

Wine service was what the doctor would've ordered, instead of an apple. ;P The few times I have been here, I have yet to be disappointed. Each time we are escorted to the locations that best fit our needs and each person working here, provides great customer service! I'd suggest the chocolate wine pairing and the tequila pairing- great experience for your palette! This review is a four, because I have yet to experience the restaurant side, but excited to. Overall this location is very unique! Lots of locations to experience and relax in. read more

We went in November, so it was drizzling. We made a reservation for dinner around 8pm that we had to pay for in advance, which was not an issue. Since we were at the top, we had to be moved to another section because it was starting to drizzle. That was fine. But once they saw we finished our first round of drinks, then the flights of tequila, food and were one our last drinks they told us we had to leave because they were closing... it was only 10pm. We looked around and everyone was still talking, laughing, and drinking. We mentioned that the website stated they were open until 11pm and the waitress said no we are closed now. And then we of course stalled trying to enjoy our first night there/Friday night, when the waitress just stood next to us to get us out. Alright the experience was not the greatest, but the food was alright really. You are going there because of the Frida aspect of it. SCAM ARTISTS. DONT MAKE A RESERVATION HERE. I've been her twice. They over booked the dining room the first time I went and suggested that I make a reservation. I did make a reservation and they charged $150. I drove all the way from Los Angeles and brought my friends who had never been to the Valle. I even hired a driver. At midnight the DAY OF my reservation they decided to close the entire restaurant and location down. THEY NEVER REFUNDED MY MONEY. It's been two weeks and these idiots copied everyone they pissed off. There are over 200 emails in the list that they're offering complimentary wine to on their next visit but they won't refund us. What a bunch of clowns. read more

Made a reservation for tequila tasting for my boyfriends birthday... amazing! The server was super informative and friendly, there was no one else there but us so it made it more private. You'd think you'd feel buzzed by the end of 4 different tequilas but surprisingly didn't feel a bad effect afterwards. read more

Neat spot with an outdoor seating area, indoors at the bar with great bathrooms or upstairs which is where we sat. Their menu is extensive and expensive but they're churning out very strong tequila drinks and wine. They have individual chimneys that they light in the evening, have a dj at night and also play great, loud music before the dj arrives. The property is great, lots of photo opportunities and different than your typical winery. read more
What's really cool spot. The place is open with a bunch of different concepts. The restaurant by the lake has oysters and tequila tasting. They have an open cocktail lounge. The upper deck area has a nice wine lounge area where got a bottle of wine and cheese plate. The cheese tasted like it was cut too early in the day and was hard/rubbery on the outside, but still good. Great service. Wine tasting room was really busy but we really enjoyed it. Came here for New Years Eve and it was so much fun! The place was super cute and had so many places that were great for pictures. Our host was Victor and he was very welcoming! He made our time there a blast! They offer all types of alcohol. I had wine and tequila. The red wine was my favorite. I would love to come back! Quick Tip: some days are busier than others, so try to make a reservation if you think it's during a busy season. read more

This place is a whole Instagram vibe! So many picture worthy things to see. The esthetics are on point, every little detail. But There aren't a lot of good food options as Menu is very limited. Great place for drinks and socializing but wouldn't recommend for dinner. I ended up going with a burger, not impressed and came with a corn on the side. My sister ordered the lechon tacos and she did not like them at all. I must say though, we also ordered a cheese platter as an appetizer, and it came With a pineapple habanero sauce that was delicious. Probably the only favorite item out of everything we got. read more

Visited 4.1.2023. Overall, the grounds and Instagram picture opportunities are awesome. Alot of seating and dining areas. We sat in the upper bar. It was comfortable in temperature because of the semi enclosed glass windows. The drinks were very pretty but weak. We were either shorted amount of alcohol used in the drinks or they were watered down. Bummer, actually. Reasonable prices. Avg $10.00 p.drink. We didn't eat here today. The music and vibe are very cool. read more

Just note that on Tuesday's the restaurant's are closed. However, they do have a basic daily menu that was still good. I have to say our waiter was great & no form of entertainment. Dog friendly too! That made this winery even better for my visit. read more

It took me a while to actually feel like I wanted to come visit this winery because I felt like they were using the name of the artist as a marketing tool. I do not like that idea but today I decided to go in to taste their wines because people have told me that they are very good. When i walked in, i was blown away by the beautiful decor and colors of bright elegance. I was impressed by the interior design and tasted the premium wines with an acompañamiento of chocolates. The wines are as follows. Diego" is a blend of two grapes. Nebbiolo 60% Barbera 40%. It is a strong wine with blackberry essence. The next wine is called "Latidos" 100% Syrah and is very good and very strong with pomegranate flavors. The next wine "Miradas" is 60% tempranillo and 40% malbec. It has never been in a barrel. It was feemented in aluminum tanks. It is definitely not worth $40. It would be great to make sangria. The last wine is "Pasion de Frida" 100% Nebbiolo. It is very easy to drink, not as bold as I had anticipated. I did not buy any wines but I bought a box of chocolates read more
