If you want to get into the upstairs bar, it's a 2 week reservation notice, especially during the season. The place is somewhat cool, the service was terrible and the food and drinks were the worst. Yet they over charged us for 3 drinks an appetizer and a dish my husband and I shared we paid $120 we calculated and the bill was not even $80 bucks and on top of that tip was suggested wth! Stay away from this dirty place Valle De Guadalupe has better places. I wish I could give this place a zero. We stayed in one of their Air BnB casas this last weekend. It was a fun property and cute place to stay right across from the restaurants and rooftop bar. The problem is that there was a shooting in the upstairs bar the night we stayed there!!!!!! We heard shots and looked outside only to see the entire place running for their lives. We locked up and hid in our bedroom behind a second locked door. Once we saw police were on the scene we opened up and my friend who is a nurse in TJ went and triaged the victim in the parking lot until the ambulance came. It was a frightening experience to say the least. Once things settled, the place was cleared out and closed up as a crime scene. Except for us. No one came and spoke to us and we went to sleep. When we woke up the place was a ghost town paired with the blood trail, shattered glasses, clothing, the remnants of utter chaos. We packed up and got out, unable to enjoy the amenities that we paid for. I'm sure this is an isolated incident (I hope?) but when I wrote to them to see if I could get a refund for my obviously ruined if not traumatic, incredibly disappointing experience, they will not return my email. I have written twice. I never ask for refunds but I feel like this is a pretty fair refund request. Other than that, two thumbs up! read more

This review is for their kitchen Granada... we ordered the flights and burgers. The flights were good, the guava flavor is amazing! However the burger tasted like complete rubber and hot dog. It got to the point that we had to take the meat out to make it digestible. Would not recommend this place for food. read more

Beautiful place to just get a drink , chill , dance, take pictures and bounce cause the food was overprice and honestly not worth AT ALL too much luxury to what really is. Been to many wineries and even though the views are great you might want to skip this place as the food is prepackaged and the tasting are the most expensive in the valle. Stop in for a quick pic and leave is my advise. read more

Entrance fee was outrageous for a Friday night an hour before they closed. Hardly anyone there but they claimed they were limited in capacity. Not even worth coming back for their wine tasting. It's only worth it of you want nice Instagram photos. Peace. read more

We got really lucky with this place! We originally made plans for la cocina de doña estela but with a 2 hour wait we decided to try the next spot and landed here! The service was awesome and the vibes and views were stunning! It is VERY expensive but the food is worth the price. read more

First off we rented and Airbnb at casa Frida the rooms were nice can't complain. And we made several reservations. Granda Terrance was ok the black Agua chiles we're good. We also went to cava by far the best experience our host Sidney was knowledgeable and made the experience great highly recommend. We also did tequila tasting Carlos was very knowledgeable and was great he was very friendly and Anna was also good the only thing was it was very hot no AC in secreto. We also went to the Blue velvet room it was good our host Kevin was very knowledgeable and friendly.Now for the bad lake deck (Lago Frida)was by far the worst experience when I reserved I had to make a deposit the food was horrible it took a long time to get and to top it off I was charged for something I never received. We ordered 3 dozen oysters 1st order came in 10min 2nd came 40min and 3rd never came.The waitress Natalia didn't even bring us the receipt she send someone else to give it to us and gave herself a 40.00 dollar tip which she did not deserve. And last was the culinary Terrance we were seated and asked if we can get a different table the lady was so rude and told us NO, it was very hot. They had a DJ was ok and the waiter was good. We were only there for a couple of hours it was to hot and with my asthma I couldn't get enough air. Not the typical "winery" experience. This is essentially a day club that happens to also have a winery and restaurant at the same location. Live talented DJ spinning great mix of danceable music with primarily Mexican and occasional American mixes. You will not be talking about the tannins or the aromas. You should go here to finish the party with a style after a day of tasting in the Valle if your group still has the ability to hang. Their was a $500 peso per person minimum to get a table upstairs. Reasonable to cover the DJ cost and since a good bottle of red is $800 didn't take much to reach the threshold. People are stylish, mix of young and older groups all instagramable and great vibe. Selection of mixed drinks was available with a hosted gin and tonic cart working the room. Trendy and hip, fun club style venue in the middle of a winery if your ready for it. read more

It was disappointing that they seem to only cater to larger parties. Apparently smaller parties were assigned only to certain areas of the winery. We were seated in the section by the water which was nice, but the music was too loud where we you couldn't hear what the person next to you was saying. The DJ was only playing house music which is fine for a club but not when you're trying to have dinner in a somewhat romantic setting. I am sad to say I had a horrible experience last weekend. It was my aunt's birthday so we did a tour and planned our day around dinner at this winery. We made plans and pre ordered meals for about 30 people and when we arrived were told the kitchen was closed. Mind you, we had been in communication with the vendor for days. No attempt was made to notify our party and dinner was set for 5 since the very beginning so it's completely unacceptable to make any excuses for not serving us or letting us know of any issues. We just left, hungry and disappointed. There was no effort to make amends nor explanation given. I was looking forward to this place the most and we were all extremely let down. I would not recommend this place unless all you've looking for is a photo op with some Frida pop art. Lame! read more

Stopped here over Valentines Weekend to check this place out as it had been one of the recent hot spots in Valle. The main tasting room is pretty small my boyfriend and I were lucky enough to get a chair. Tasting costs about $18 and you get to try 4 wines which were pretty good. They have an upstairs patio which we did not get to see because it doesn't open till later on in the day. The place is very touristy and gets packed! They have a little restaurant down the hill near the water. We went to have our last tasting their next to the water which was way better than sitting inside the crowded tasting room. This place is located around the beginning when your getting into valle kinda far from other wineries. Overall don't see myself going back, but definitely worth checking out at least once read more

Came here for the first time with 3 other couples. The decor was great. Very colorful and chic. I am rating low because they literally ripped us off. Our bill for 5 drinks was $800 pesos. No biggy, the exchange rate is currently $18.50 to 1 us dollar. Our bill should of been $43 but instead they said it was $60, not including the tip. DON'T GO THERE WITHOUT PESOS! read more

As many other people have said this place is absolutely gorgeous! When you first arrive you aren't very impressed but once you step inside you are definitely wowed. We watched the sunset behind the mountains on the top floor and ordered drinks from there. The decor and the view of the sunset made our visit worthwhile, the drinks were just OK. Came here for a stop for my VDG wine tour and sat outside because I wanted to enjoy the view. You have to buy a food item to get alcohol. Ordered two wine glasses- 1st one was not good but decided to give another wine a try and it was bad. Left my wine at the table - which I never do! Service- had to get up and ask for my waiter several times, and other waiters had to take my order which I can tell they did not like because they were not assigned to our table but did so anyway to be nice which was appreciated. After wonderful visitis to three other wineries (Vena Cava, Decantos and Sol y Barro), Casa Frida started off pleasant but ended horribly. We did a truly enjoyable wine tasting at around 4:00 pm in an exquisite environment with great live music at Casa Frida. We spent nearly $150 for the tastings and two bottles. It was pricey bit to this point acceptable. Afterwards, we asked if we could bring some tacos we had not finished at a prior visit to the outdoor casual eating area and order some additional drinks. We were told that would be fine as long as we ordered drinks (after already spending $150 mind you). When I I grabbed the tacos and returned, the security guard very forcefully and combatively said I could not enter with the tacos. When I referred to the wait staff who approved it and appealed to the hostess as well, no one seemed to care. They had my money, and that was it. What a shame and an embarrassment to this establishment. It could have been so great. I'll never bring my money back here! read more

Terrible customer service! We booked reservations and paid in advance. When we go there they had a full house and did not want to honor out reservation. 2 months later and they still do not want to refund the money and they are claiming we did consume food and beverage. Aside from the terrible customer service and experience, this place has no regard for health. No temp checks, no hand sanitizer, 90% of people there were not wearing a mask etc. Don't waste your time here! Plenty of better places to go to. read more

I want to give this place 5 stars for creativity, quality of wine and ambiance but they lack better management that knows how to make exceptions to the rules when appropriate. We went there twice at night. The 1st night was understandably too packed to get in so we came back on a Sunday night after drinking wine wine all day and just want to get a drink each to check out the place upstairs. We waited for awhile just to be told we had to spend a certain amount to go up but yet there was hardly anyone there that night. We told them we didn't need a table and that we just wanted a drink and to go. We would have posted pictures to all our friends for great free advertisement and spent at least $70 dollars+, and of course you start with one drink and you'll probably end up getting another. Since it wasn't packed, it would have added more people to the party atmosphere which you want but instead they wouldn't compromise at all so we left I do recommend this place but I personally had a bad experience. I went to this place about 1 month ago with a group of friends and we were all very disappointed. We had travelled from California to try this place. We had made reservations in advance. Saturday night comes, the day of our reservation, we had two hours waiting! It was ridiculous. When we arrived it was extremely packed (no social distancing whatsoever), they told us to wait a "little" while they found a table for us. After one hour of waiting I spoke with their Manager, and she apologized and requested more time. The second hour waiting, we were already very upset and we were starving as we had made reservations for dinner there. They did ask that we give them more time, but by the second time we were already very frustrated. Honestly, I would not ever go back. My experience was too sour. Great atmosphere and decor but terrible policies! Went there on a Friday night and waited at the entrance for someone to finally come down. When they did they said it would be a 500 pesos entry fee for each person if they are to even have capacity for us the hostess said. There were 7 cars in the parking lot in total are you kidding me?!?! I want to give this place more than 3 stars. I really do. If it wasn't for the fact that we waited for 25 minutes at the front main bar while the bartenders walked back and forth serving other customers and literally IGNORING us as we politely (at first) said "excuse me" to try to get their attention. It culminated with me walking out the front door. I am a manager of a large volume venue and my patience and understanding with regards to service is very gracious. If it is busy I am not one to push. There were 4 other people at the bar however, with two bartenders. What? The art on the inside is better, more unique, and have more skill than Frida had ever created during her self portrait bout. This review is not about art though. The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is due to the staff down by the open seating outside area by the river. The bartender there was very nice to us despite me being grumpy and short tempered at that point. The food we had (the Aguachile and the Oysters) were delicious. The Oysters has great accents of habanero oil, pickled onions, and Black Sea salt. The aguachile had blackened seasoning with jalapeños, mango, onions, and cherry tomatoes. The wine was decent. The Rosè wasn't anything to write home about and the Nebbiolo blend was extremely light given the comparative results of other vineyards in the area such as Bodega F.Rubio (AMAZING btw). The server was extremely attentive and we tipped him very well because he deserved it. Overall the experience was the same as so many other "chic" and "trendy" spots. read more
