    COVID piñata!
    Holly H.

Francisco is very talented! Enjoyed shopping and visiting casa de piñata! I found this shop on Facebook. How clever to make a COVID piñata! Looking forward to hitting it!

Talented humble custom pinata maker who does a fantastic job. Come in a month before you need your pinata and he'll do what he can to make you whatever you want and will be a more than fair price - I say tip him because he doesn't charge enough. He also has started to make pinatas and stock them so that you are able to just come in and buy one of his creations without waiting for it, as long as you don't need anything custom-made anyway.

A dia de los muertos pinata. Casa de Pinata made this. Seriously. AMAZING.

Unfortunately, the owner of this shop may never see this review. One of his first admissions to me during our transaction was that he didn't "know computers". This is the fault of his sons, who never taught him how to use one. Don't get him going on that tangent, though - stick to pinatas. This little hole-in-the-mall has been around since I moved to ABQ, probably years before hand, and I finally had an opportunity to check it out. Initially I was absolutely floored by the size of these pinatas, they stretch three to five feet in height and length. They're all hand-made. They easily handle some five pounds of candy/stuffing. Popular characters, cervesa bottles, iconic figures... an amazing selection. And you can special order ANYTHING you want, they'll make your creation. The proof was in the whacking, though. A group of grown, generally sober adults went at the pinata I bought for a good 20 minutes before a samurai swipe managed to decapitate it. Industrial and artisan, these are seriously great pinatas. The store has a bevy of Mexican and American candy, including chile-spiced sweets that add some authenticity to an event. They also sell the swatters (don't know the official term for them) that are festively wrapped and last a lifetime. Oh, and did I mention prices? Most pinatas go for $35, the more unique run another $10, but compare that to the major Marts and you're looking at a marvelous local deal.

Came twice. Closed at 2:30 and 4:15. Called but goes to mailbox. Not cool to waist someone's time and post that you are open. Sad, I try to keep my business local.

Cookie monster piñata $25 great deal holds about 2lbs of candy!!!!

Went by during business hours (that are posted on the front door) and the place was shut down. Must not like making money.

He showed me other piñatas that he has made and I was amazed at the craftsmanship and detail that he puts into each piñata.

No idea who is paying that for vintage clothes outside of ebay. The person minding the shop seemed annoyed I came in. I promptly did them a favor and left.

These are the type of items that you will never find in a Halloween store. Some things are like walking into your great grandparents closet, that is they were really cool people. Virtually stepping back into time. Give yourself time to really explore this place. They didn't have what I wanted, but the young lady was able to point me into the right direction on what would work for me. Don't go in here expecting everything to be orderly, but that is the charm. They know where everything is so not chaos really, but you may need help finding that certain item. if you want to really impress someone with a costume this is the place to find it. Now if you want WalMart or Spirit Halloween cheap stuff don't expect it here. There are things here at low prices, but the vintage items cost more. They have gone out to find these hard to find items. So unless you plan to spend days searching thrift stores or antique shops just pull out the money & support this great place. You will not find a more unique costume place in Albuquerque.
