First time at Casa de Papi despite knowing about it, and its reputation, for a long time. Im glad I finally did! This is a small restaurant that seems to be run with 2 guys, Marco and a cook. Everything cooked to order. Nice touch, complimentary chips while waiting even for to-go orders. I did not but everyone else did. The Milenesa Torta was not only well-constructed but yummy too. Everything was in the bag to make eating it enjoyable: red and green salsas and napkins. Marco works hard to fill the orders fast. Almost frenetic. My blood pressure went up just watching him. I gave up on this place awhile ago but my workplace used them for catering for years. They had the best breakfast burritos but they also catered our T-day potluck and other events in years-gone-by. But this year we literally could not reach anyone at the store. Nobody answered the phone or other communication attempts. So, we were forced to go with another vendor. In light of my many times going there and their store being closed despite the hours posted on the door saying they would be open...well, I can't say I'm surprised. Greeted with a "hello" and smile by the staff as soon as I walk in. As a customer, I'm already feeling welcomed and happy to be here. The guy behind the counter who takes my order is polite and offers me chips while I wait (salsa, cheese and sour cream). Offering me chips while I wait made me worried that the order would take a long time but I sat down for maybe 2-3 minutes before my food was ready. They recognized that it was my first time there which tells me they have quite a bit of regulars. The staff here was very engaging and I can tell they are big on customer service -- A+ in my book. I had the asada burrito and loved it. Made with black beans instead of pinto beans and the rice/beans weren't overpowering. The ratio of meat to rice/beans was perfect. It's very hard sometimes to find a good Mexican restaurant around here and this was such a surprise interior is small but it's done so nicely and it's so cute. I had a I had a carnea asada burrito which was so delicious, my fiancé had the California burrito and let me tell you there's something that they do with the meat They just made it so unbelievably juicy and delicious. And while we were waiting, we had chips with this unbelievable sauce. I mean it wasn't spicy, but it was so delicious and it had such a rich taste. Staff: friendly & helpful everyone was very nice Price: prices are good $2.50 a taco probably one of the cheaper tacos in the area. Food we ordered: Chips: a smaller batch of chips covered in what i expect is a mole possibly and some cheese. This was pretty good nice crunch on the chips. came with two salsas a green and red both had a nice strong flavor and a bit of a kick. 3 Tacos Combo - Carnitas Taco - The best of the 3 tacos we got, strong lime flavor which i liked add some of both salsas and this is the thing to get. However my one pet-peeve with carnitas... If while you are adding carnitas to the taco and you see a LARGE piece of inedible fat DON'T PUT IT IN the taco... El Pastor Taco - The one recommended by the staff, strong flavor decent taste not my thing but also not bad. Chicken taco - this might possibly be one of the worst chicken tacos I have ever had.. No seasoning whatsoever the color was off i'm not sure they even put this on the grill.. absolutely avoid this at all costs. I wish I had photographed this one, it was that bad.. Rice & Beans - overall soggy and not very good, flavorless. Overall the food was not great. We went on a Friday after lunch so it wasn't busy. Im unsure if the food is just pre-made but nothing was really hot.. The food and the reviews on this place just dont match up... Not sure what people are eating but it isn't the food here.. Onay, found IT. Here we go, the real deal, but with fresh ingredients. The owner is really nice and cares about his food, establishment, and customers. Plus, the food is AMAZING! This is now one of my top five places for authentic flavor and good quality in the Valley. I do have to take a moment and talk about the quality. Because the meat is exquisite, and everything that comes around it is like straight from the market. Free beans and cheese and sour cream when you show up on location is a fantastic addition to an already phenomenal place. PS they cater! I've probably been here a couple dozen times now. I originally came for the tacos, burritos and the occasional torta which are all good but now I always make sure to get some empanadas too as the empanadas are excellent. The staff is always very kind, welcoming and appreciative of my business too. I don't know if the cashiers are owners or family of the owner etc. but that is the vibe they give off based on how genuinely appreciative they always are of my business which is a different feeling than usually get from an hourly employee even if that employee is kind and welcoming. My party of 3 all enjoyed our lunch at Casa de Papi. Delicious food for reasonable prices. We came on a Wednesday for a late lunch around 2, and there wasn't anyone else there. The menu is pretty straightforward, with tacos, burritos, plates, quesadillas, and tortas offered with your choice of meat. They have beef, chicken, and spinach and cheese empanadas as well. There's also an all day breakfast menu. The other two went with tortas ($7.99 for vegetarian, $8.99 for meat), but I got the asada plate ($12.99). They gave us some complimentary nachos with two types of salsa right after ordering and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes. I thought everything on the asada plate was delicious, especially the rice which had a really nice flavor. If I had to nitpick, I'd say the carne asada that day was a tiny bit on the dry side, but that didn't take away from my enjoyment of the meal. Portions were huge especially for my asada plate too; we were all shocked by how much meat they included. After eating 3 of the 5 flour tortillas, I still had over half my carne asada left. My friend enjoyed his veggie torta but found it a bit bland. He easily resolved this by adding some of the salsa to his torta. read more

Food: Came to eat here with my friend and we loved it. The Chilaquiles Rojos are spicy so if you're not into spicy, try the green ones. They were delicious! The eggs were made to perfection. I didn't even finish half I was so full, but it was so good. The rice was perfect, not dry at all. The black beans could've used a little more flavor. I wasn't the biggest fan. The empanada was okay. It needed a little something extra that I was hoping the dip would give, but it didn't. Parking: Plenty of parking. It is in a plaza with many other shops. Staff: The staff was wonderful!
