Call me a snooty elite, but I love some seafood before diving into a steak…read more We were excited to try Gatsbys (and not because of Fitzgerald's promise of a green light and a glitzy lifestyle). The space had a very "old fashioned" steakhouse vibe from the 80s or Early NY before a family friendly Times Square, but the service was top tier. We received crazy hot (400 degrees) plates on which our steaks were served and delicious sides along with lovely reds to accompany the experience. It was a little dark for me in the inside, but would be happy to revisit if guests were interested in an authentic steak house experience.

The bartender was super busy as the restaurant was packed, so I tried not to rush her to get my order in. The HRW menu was pretty decent so I got the Caesar salad, the salmon and the chocolate cake for dessert. Paired all this with a lemon drop and tried to take in the experience. The salad was so good and they provide you with a chilled fork to eat with. The salmon was huge and definitely didn't need any sides, but the chocolate cake was bleh. Seems like many restaurants can't get it right when it comes to rich and flavorful chocolate cakes. While the food was great (forgot to get the shrimp devil eggs smh), the ambiance left a lot to be desired. I'm surprised by all the rave reviews about it. I thought the decor was tacky, the place looked dusty and like it needed a deep cleaning, and sitting by the bar was the worst because it smelled so bad because the kitchen was right there. Maybe I'll come back at dine in to truly see what everyone else saw but as of now, wasn't impressed.

Despite being one of the more anticipated fall openings of Fall 2022, Gatsby's Prime Seafood was a…read moreshort-lived experiment that practically ended just as after it began. The potential was there, but it's never fun to see a place that never lives up to it. Less than a year in operation, Gatsby's Hospitality Group decided to shut it down. The atmosphere of the restaurant had old school vibes with a faux scintillating flair, complete with lounge-like seating and a very sexy bar. It was a date night type establishment exuding the kind of ambiance that gets lost in most places in the neighborhood. The food also had potential. Overpriced seafood was to be expected, but a healthy mix of shellfish creations and culinary flair should have been well received. The offerings were fancy, but the execution was never quite what they were hoping for. There were a lot of inconsistencies with basic things such as their shrimp cocktail, various lobster dishes, and seared ahi tuna. However, some of their crazy, poached fish, and caviar selection warranted a big thumbs up. Something tells me the staffing turnover was enormous and a lot got lost along the way. Even when I was enjoying my meals, the service snafus sullied the experience somewhat and it became hard to take the place seriously given its price point and slight pretension. The valet parking has their issues as did the hostesses. I suppose the writing was on the wall. I'm not sure what the Gatsby hospitality folks are doing, but I'm hoping the sudden closures of Gatsby's Grill and Gatsby's Seafood don't mean there are more places closing on the horizon.

Almost every single dish that I had there was absolutely phenomenal! Especially the filet! I do not like key lime pies but omg they made a convert out of me with their amazing take on it! Creme brûlée. What else can I say?! Just get it!!! Things that I was not a fan of: $10 for valet and no self parking options. The mac and cheese was a little grainy :/ Our server was also the bartender and running around for at least 1/4 of the restaurant taking orders and making drinks. Honestly, it's quite an accomplishment how well she did everything but I felt really bad for her! Overall, amazing vibe, great food, and an elevated yet relaxed atmosphere!

This restaurant is not incredible but it also is not terrible. It was an okay American cuisine "looks like and feels like fine dining but not actually fine dining quality" restaurant. APPETIZER: 6/10 Campechana - I'm not a fan of spiciness, so I barely touched this dish. It was delicious though and the chips were the perfect salty combo. I do still recommend ordering this dish, since it was a delightful and shareable concoction. MAIN COURSE: 7/10 Prime Burger - The meat was cooked to absolute tenderness and every bite was juicy! The server and kitchen were attentive to my dairy allergies (which I expected nothing less in such fine dining). I rated only 7/10 because I felt like there was something missing to the taste... This burger probably tastes better with the sauce and everything on it. NOTE: Due to my dairy and nut allergies, this restaurant does not have a wide selection that cater to my dietary restrictions. A lot of items on the menu have either dairy or nuts and I was told that the items aren't modifiable. SERVICE: 10/10 Attentive and we were seated immediately on a Wednesday evening. Would I return? Probably, since I work nearby, and I want to try their happy hour menu. Would I recommend this restaurant to others? Honestly, this restaurant was just... okay. Not bad or terrible. Just okay to me. Subpar. I think it would be a cute place to take photos though for a brunch outing.

Let's get into the specifics: Service was friendly. Kitchen was slow. I suspect this will improve in coming months. It has a throwback Bennigan's, rustic bar and grill type feel to the decor. There was very loud traditional country music playing, which I'm not a fan of and I don't think will be appreciated by most clientele. I would suggest changing the genre or at least turning it down. East coast oysters (4/5)- They were good, but there's only 4. I've never been to a place that didn't serve oysters by the half, dozen, or a la carte. So I'm not sure why 4 was chosen. The waiter even had to warn us before ordering so I suspect others have complained. I think they should at least put 6 even if it means upping the price a bit just to avoid confusion. Poblano soup with lump crab (5/5)- Delicious soup du jour! Flavorful had a good amount of crab. Almost had a gumbo like taste. I enjoyed it very much. Gatsby's Chicken- Great portion size. Two full breasts. The chicken is breaded and topped with tomato and a sauce. The mashed potatoes were good but could use a bit of salt. The broccolini was also tasty. Crab Cake Sandwich- Bread was nice and hot. Crispy on the edges yet moist. It was served open face so I decided to only eat half of the bun to reduce carbs. The crab cake had plenty of real crab, but could have been slightly crispier considering it's on a sandwich. Served with fries. I enjoyed and would order again. Overall it was a good night out. They have a few kinks to work through but I'm hopeful. There's reasonably priced items on the menu so I suspect this will become a go to spot for families.

I know. "Fine dining" and burgers? But that's what I wanted. I searched the web and found the Chefs Table in Vintage Park, and it wasn't too far from us here in The Woodlands, so we decided to make reservations and head there. From the moment we entered, we were treated like special guests. The ambiance is rich, but not overdone or stuffy. Simply classic and relaxing. Our booth felt private and unhindered by conversations of nearby diners or wait staff bustling past. Our cocktails were perfect. The calimari we ordered as an appetizer was probably the most tender and delicious either of us have ever had. And when our burgers arrived, I was so happy. It was exactly what I had set my mind on when selecting my birthday dinner experience. The blend of brisket and chuck was absolutely delicious, set atop a perfectly buttered toasted bun, with some crispy onion straws on top. And the fries... oh my! I rarely if ever eat fried food - so clearly this was my big day to completely go off my standard fare, but those fries had the perfect crunch and flavor. Apparently, when my husband made our resv, he told them it was my birthday, so our server brought out a delightful complimentary spiced cake dessert after we were finished eating - for us to share. It was the perfect finish to an already amazing meal. Thank you to the entire staff at The Chefs Table yesterday, for helping to create a memorable and delicious birthday feast for my husband and me. We will definitely be back to try some other delights because the menu is packed full of amazing looking dishes.

I think this is one place that I would trust to go out of my comfort zone on food and everything will be phenomenal.
