Our teachers thus far have been caring, knowledgeable, and dependable. While the school has gone through a few changes over the years, the sparrow community continues to hold together for the kids with help of parents and staff alike. The most important thing is my children are HAPPY at sparrow. They have made true friendships, they know all the staff on a first name basis, and are learning to love learning. Waldorf education is a different kind of educational pathway, however at sparrow all concepts that are seen in public school are still met at sparrow bcuz they are a charter and state funded. They just teach it in a different way. They are not perfect and it's an uphill battle to keep this charter school functioning as a Waldorf since we still have to meet state testing, but the village it provides makes it worth while. Those looking into Waldorf education private or charter, should really work to understand what, how and why, waldorf curriculum is taught.

DO NOT SEND YOUR CHILDREN HERE. The school is falling apart. They are losing teachers and faculty…read more They don't have a math teacher, hand work teacher and the Spanish teacher is horrible. I regret sending my children here. My son had to repeat 4th grade ("because it follows Waldorf development" but then they changed it a year later to conform to LMSV School District so my son got screwed and now he's a year behind all his friends.) This was the worst decision I have EVER made. The community is great. The families and friends we have met have been great. Thats it. Period.

We feel incredibly grateful to be part of such a warm, welcoming, and enriching school community…read more From the very beginning, our family has felt supported not just academically, but personally as well. The teachers and staff truly go above and beyond to create an environment where each child feels seen, valued, and encouraged to grow. We currently have three children at the school, and each of them has had such a positive and unique experience. The balance between strong academics and character development is something we deeply appreciate. It's clear that the school is focused on nurturing the whole child, building confidence, kindness, and a genuine love for learning. One of the highlights for our family has been the musical program. Our daughters have been involved in the school musical, and it has been such a meaningful experience for them. Not only have they grown in confidence and creativity, but they've also formed friendships across different grade levels, which has been so special to see. The sense of community that comes from these programs is truly something unique. We couldn't be happier with our experience and feel lucky every day to be part of this amazing school. It's a place where children are encouraged to thrive, friendships flourish, and families feel genuinely connected.

Even the inside of the middle school was a disappointment because there were no walls separating the different classrooms. Fast forward to present day, my daughter is in 8th grade and I am so sad she is now leaving MHA to go off to high school. Mrs Robertson is now the director at the middle school, there have been major staff changes, they even spent all summer redoing the entire inside of the school! There are walls, student lounge areas, amazing new staff, Mrs Robertson's office is right there so she can oversee everything, and there is even a counselor that comes once a week that will meet with any student or parent that might have any issues or concerns that they want to discuss, they have monthly meetings with the entire middle school about mental health as well. My daughter is thriving and loving school! We feel so confident and comfortable with her there. We love the new/returning staff, new programs, building updates, etc. I wish they had an MHA high school!! We have a younger daughter that will be at the middle school next year and we are so happy that she will be at MHA. She has some learning disabilities and the staff has been so accommodating to her. We really appreciate all the positive changes that MHA has made for this school year. Not only are the students more happy this year, you can tell the staff are excited to be there as well. Thank you MHA!!

The curriculum looked comparatively good. The difference was the positive attitude of the teachers. It's on a beautiful private large piece of land. Very secure with a large area for sports as well.

Recess area is huge, multiple basketball courts, a large field for soccer, and they have a painting of a Map of the US. Tables where you have lunch are outdated and need to be replaced. Classrooms : Large, can only fit up to 40 students max plus the teacher. Large white boards in each room except for 1st grade which has a blackboard. 2nd grade has a fragment smell of cinnamon that can be annoying when working in there. Teachers : Mrs. Amigable (a-mi-ga-bi-lay) and Coach Brad are the coolest out of all of them. Some are annoying which are Mrs. Genna and Mrs. Zuniga. Substitutes : They have this one sub that always comes in named Mrs. Laybourne and she's annoying and no one likes her except for the kids that like to snitch on other kids. Mrs. Croft was the old six grade before the current and she's very nice unless your on her bad side. Overall it was a good school, except having annoying teachers that always have an authority issue and will call you out and get you in trouble for anything stupid.
