This restaurant is run by the fine folks over at the Casa Cubuy Ecolodge, but anyone can stop in for dinner and a drink.
There is a regular, but small, menu of pastas, mofongo, and other typical local fair. They also have about five daily specials. When we stopped in they were meatloaf, pork chops, a couple more pastas, as well as soups and salads of the day.
We enjoyed a pesto pasta and a pork mofongo. Both were very nicely made and the pasta came with salad and flan.
The restaurant is set on a cliff that overlooks the El Yunque rainforest, and the views are amazing.
Everything is done to order and has a definite home-made feel. Mary Anne and her two helpers really were working hard when a few more groups of tourists showed up.
This isn't somewhere to eat when you're in a hurry, this is somewhere to order a few Medallas, watch the sun go down, savor the mofongo, and sneak a few scraps to the local pooch.
We are going back again tomorrow. Really looking forward to it! read more
