I also asked him to give me some estimates of what should be done, the cost and anything that needed to be repaired, corrected, changed, etc. My experience with some previous inspection companies was that they would identify a problem and then just state that I should call a licensed professional for further information. That is why I was pleased that he was able to offer suggestions and propose solutions for the defects and possible improvements that could be done to the property. He took the time to thoroughly explain this information to me. I also felt that their price for the inspection was fair. I then received the inspection report by e-mail a few days later.

I called on Friday and left a message, Marty Evan got back to me within 2 hours, explained his credentials and my options as well as his scheduling availability. I was impressed with the clarity and professional manner he presented my options. He even offered to come on Sunday to accommodate my schedule . Marty was on time, and as pleasant and professional in person as he had been on the phone. He arrived in a clean, late model professional looking truck and was able to provide ID on request without being put out by it. He spent enough time to throughly check all 3 floors of my home and it's numerous nooks and crannies. His fee was very reasonable and provided all forms and a signed paid invoice for my banker on the same day of the Inspection! Amazing by any standard, but impressive during The Holidays. When the radon levels came back bad they needed me to move some stuff in the basement and expected me to do it in a couple hours. When I explained to them that I have work and I will move it when I get the chance they decided to show up to my house without even calling when I called to tell them that I didnt appreciate them coming to my home when I wasnt there I got yelled at by Rick and told that I was a terrible customer because it took me too long to move boxes. When we contacted him a month later about concerns we had that the system wasn't functioning correctly due to repairs made to the sump pump where it was installed, he begrudgingly came back to check on the system. At that point he became irate, saying the system was working fine (even though the liquid in the J tube had nearly disappeared completely, so there was no way for us to gauge the system), and then demanded cash for his inconvenience, which we regretfully paid him. No repairs were made, not even to the broken gauge. He stated he would write a report documenting the visit. When we got the report, it cited a number of things that needed to be corrected, which he did NOT mention at his visit. We assumed the report was not a matter of urgency since he stated at the visit nothing was wrong and he had not made any arrangements with us to fix the problems AND since some of the information in the report was erroneous. We are writing now because we have recently found out that we have radon levels in our basement 10x the acceptable levels, and we will never forget how awful he was! Basically, he lied to our faces by stating everything was fine, then sent a report citing problems, and then never followed-up with us about his poorly installed system to make sure we were safe. We find this unacceptable.
