This little cafe sits just below in the shadow of the Tarragona Cathedral, to the left as you look at the structure from the steps leading up.
The building sits on the old roman ruins from over 2000 years ago. As you walk through the front door, look down, there is a heavy glass floor panel that highlights to ruins below, that now serves as a part of their wine cellar. Seating available inside, upstairs and out, we sat indoors.
Our servers were professional, kind and attentive.
Had a wonderful lunch with a group of friends and shared several tapas over the course of 2-3 hours. Its how comel rolls in Espana.
Anchovies on toast with tomato, and a little evoo. So simple, fresh and tasty, one of my friends favorites, so we started there.
Patatas Bravas, done traditional. Fresh patatas with an aoili dipping sauce. Simple and good, and a standard on most of menus. Each a little different, this version was very good and more than enough to share.
Andulusian Calamara, quick fried, lightly breaded and so good. Again a nice serving of fresh squid thats ample to share.
Pan cristal con tomate, one of my favorites. Tomato bread, Crystal bread lightly toasted with freshly shredded tomato, a little sea salt and a light drizzle of evoo. So simple, delicious and tasty. Their version is very good.
All in all, a solid choice for a good meal, in a great locale in old Tarraco
4 Stars worth the effort and support
