The Ice cream at this location is fine but the employee's and owner ( older gentleman with eyeglasses ) are not. The employee's are rude and act like they are doing you a favor. Plus i'll never get over what the owner did regarding all the covid stuff. He had people waiting outside in the freezing cold and summer heat because of not wanting too many people inside , way after all those nonsense restrictions were lifted, almost like he enjoyed controlling people... and now he puts orange cones out in front of the place so you can't double park. As a owner why the hell in the world would he care who parks where , as long as his business is thriving , who gives a crap what's going on in the parking lot? Plus i've seen him side with employees that we're treating customers rudely. I drive a little further & go to Carvel in Jefferson Valley where they appreciate their customers business. read more

The layout onside this place is pretty awful but the people are great and the product better then most Carvel locations, certainly better then the 4 other locations within 8mi. Tiny shop with no tables or inside dining but the place is reliable - I just wish they were open later. read more

Typically I'm a once or twice a year patron here... an ice cream birthday cake (which I call in a 'small' since they don't keep that size in-stock, just so you know!). So I was in the rare mood for a lil' sundae and went in to get a kid's size. As soon as I said that, the girl behind the counter starts filling the little cup with vanilla and says, "Vanilla okay?" I stated it was not. She then filled a new cup with chocolate and quickly said, "Whipped cream and a cherry, right?" I again stated no, that I wanted hot fudge and peanuts. Lo and behold I was charged just shy of $6 for a 'kid's size' sundae which I was emphatically told this was not a kid's sundae because 'their' kid's sundae comes with whipped cream and a cherry! That's like ordering oat meal and getting hassled for wanting sugar or milk! I guess NO MORE ice cream birthday cakes moving forward! read more

Great customer service every person my husband and I interacted with was kind and helpful. Never have I ever had an ice cream cake quite like this one. The ice cream was creamy and soft. There isn't any actual cake in the cake it is just ice cream in the shape of a cake. I was a little surprised by that but the ice cream was so good I didn't mind. I am not even a big ice cream fan (my daughter is and wanted this type of cake) but I would definitely go back and get another ice cream cake from here. read more

Seriously there's prob a reason that this place didn't have a yelp before me. I just wanted to share my story. I have an online coupon app that I can use for different places. They have one for this carvel. So I went in thinking I could use it get an ice cream for me and my boyfriend. I go in and they won't accept it. They say print out only. The girls like we only accepted printed coupons that those coupons on the app aren't our coupons. Are you kidding me you're a carvel so any carvel coupon you should accept! Extremely pissed off so much so I wanted to share my review on yelp but this place is prob so bad no one even bothered to make them one until now. So please share your stories on how the carvel wouldn't accept a carvel coupon!!! read more

I'm really pissed off, not only did I feel rushed while I was ordering my order, but one of the worker was standing over me like a corrections officer at sing sing, making it uncomfortable to place My order. I know you want to leave, but every customer should feel comfortable while spending their money. Our whole order sucked, and for the amount of money I paid the product should of been good. The Chocolate thick shake tasted like was made with pond water. Nothing thick about it. The carvel cake hard ice-cream tasted sour, the Strawberry and vanilla crunch were the best part of it. I will not be giving this place my business, and I will be driving to Croton for ice cream for now on. read more

I have been coming to this Carvel since I was a kid. Every birthday, celebration or Wednesday Carvel was the go to. After 10 years I had no complaints until about a month ago. Every Wednesday my family enjoys bogo sundaes. I order my four medium sundaes and try to place my order as simple as I can so there is no mistakes. Instead the employee rushes to try and memorize all of my four different sundae orders in her head. I completely understand feeling overwhelmed by a line but if this employee took their time, I would have no complaint or story to tell. I drive home open my cup and find missing toppings. I drive back considering I live local and politely ask for my topping that I ordered and paid for in a separate cup and TIP the employees anyways. The following week, the same employee messes up three of the four sundae orders again rushing to memorize my order. I again have to go back to the store for my missing toppings. The employee rudely greets me with a "yes?" I explain my order once again is messed up. Instead of owning up to her mistake, the employee responds "I didn't know you wanted that". First of all I was charged for it. Second I've been ordering the same order for the last 10 years I am 100% certain I ordered correctly. I respond to the employee "well the same thing happened last week when you served me". To which the employee responds "I won't serve you anymore". That is A-OK with me considering I am the one who is going home disappointed week after week. My next visit the same employee hides in the back while I am ordering. The following week, a different employee who has nothing to do with the situation asks another employee to take my order. As this employee is making my sundae I hear her say "I feel like she's watching me" about me to her coworker. What else should I be doing while I'm the only customer in the store waiting for my order? Close my eyes? I am very disappointed with the new staff and the immaturity. I know when I worked in the food industry/customer service I never would treat a loyal paying customer like this and my manager wouldn't put up with it. Update: when I spoke to the owner about this employee instead of apologizing for my experience, the owner stated "she has the right to not serve you, I have known her for years". Sorry Carvel you have lost many loyal customers. We will be at Jefferson Valley. read more

I don't think I've ever had a better ice cream experience. I've tried other ice cream places but no one really sits down with me and walks me through all of the topping and financing options as gracefully as Chris does. Honestly the experience was so good I try to go back as often as I can. Prices were spot on, and the rainbow sprinkles seem to be much more radiant and rainbowy here than anywhere else. (Also I mean chocolate sprinkle are good too but, not as radiant) speaking of radiant. The smile coming off of the most beautiful faces, namely Chris, just warmed my heart. So much so I paid for everyone in line behind me. Except for the guy who wanted the little cup in the big cup for the little cup price...didn't care for him so I didn't pay for his...anywho def go here they are the best best best best best!!! read more

Doesn't get more brain-dead than this experience at Carvel in Cortlandt My wife and I each ordered a Sunday. She didn't want any topping. So I asked that her topping be put on my Sunday. The server refused following some stupid rule. And then he discarded the extra topping she didn't want rather than serve it to me. Not believing what I was experiencing, I asked to speak with the manager. So I then asked the manager to accommodate my request. She refused too. "We don't do that." Really. P_ss off a customer over a topping. Even Motor Vehicle agencies treat the customer better. Remember this story next time you consider trusting these people with your next ice cream order. Bought buy one get one and wanted one medium and one small and willing to pay the medium price. The boss wouldn't do it - it's against the rules. This location is appalling and the older man with glasses and gray hair is extremely rude. My child wanted a Sunday with extra toppings in a larger cup so they don't fall out the side after being put on the whip cream and he refused to put it in a bigger cup. Stating that he would charge me for a large size even if it was one scoop of ice cream. So who ever this man was I am FYI You are not flexible and very rude with a random "rule" as stated. You should support your customers and want to help accommodate and make a small child happy. If not leave the customer service industry. Terrible man. read more

Two words to best describe tonight's experience, absolute incompetence. Tonight the young lady server was bragging about being the "unofficial manager" to her friends, which consequently distracted her from properly making a simple sundae with all the correct toppings. Additionally, she acted like she was in a rush and didn't have time to wait on me as a customer, even though I was the only one there. Hopefully, upper management takes note and finds some teens who are more professional and friendly. read more

This place is no good. I just got two for one sundaes and the dishes were only 3/4 full. They also have a 10 dollar minimum on all credit card and debit card sales. This is okay for credit cards but there is no minimum on debit card purchases by Federal law. Never come here again. read more

You're usual carvel spot. Love this place cause of how well kept it is. Staff is always very nice, very quick and professional. The shop is always neat and organized and glistening in its white theme. Ice cream cakes are great here as are the shakes! They also have a few indoor seats which is nice once the cold weather comes. Be advised that Wednesdays (buy one get one free sundaes) can become extremely busy, and I mean line out the door busy. Very convenient for me too so I will continue to come back. read more

Me, my husband, and my 9 children went into Carvel on Wednesday. It is located right off of the traffic circle on Westbrook, but let me tell you, there is NO traffic in the Cortlandt Carvel. Me and the hubby were apprehensive at first because the line was almost around the corner but we were happily surprised to see how quickly the line moved. The store was the cleanest Carvel I have ever been inside. When my family squeezed our way to the front of the line we were helped by a smiley young server who was pleasant, quick and informative. She informed us of what came in the 2 for 1 special so we did not have any surprise charges for extra toppings and as a parent of 9 children me and my husband appreciated the heads up. She made all 11 orders very quickly and with no mistakes or problems at all. We were in and out quickly and left with delicious sundaes that we enjoyed outside. Needless to say we will be coming back to this Carvel. read more
