Carvana: My Experience Starting from the beginning: Finding and Ordering: It was easy to create an account and search for vehicles. There were many in the categories I was seeking. I found the vehicle I wanted and had financing ready via my bank. It was easy enough to review and sign documents. It was also easy to upload the documents they needed to complete the transaction. That portion of the process was fast and with no glitches. This was completed July 10th at 2:22 pm via a confirmation email. Via phone I had asked that the rep have the "carvana" license plate holder removed as I don't advertise for the people I purchase from. He stated he would have that taken care of. Granted, the paperwork I completed stated that I had to put it in writing, and I did ask for the email address of the person to send the request to, he gave me verbal confirmation that he would have it removed and specifically told me I didn't have to email anyone. My vehicle arrived with the Carvana plate holder. Delivery: I was given one option. 7/15/19 at 8:30 am local time. I received a call on Sunday 7/14/19 from the local office stating that my car was "scheduled for delivery overnight." However, the car had to be inspected and tagged and they may be as late as 9:30 arriving with the vehicle. There was no lie in the wording. It was "scheduled" however, it was not "on schedule". See that twist of wording? At 7:26 am on 7/15/19 (I have pics of these call logs) I received a call that my car was not delivered and they are tracing it. I was told to call back with any questions. Why didn't I have the car? Why was I not told that it wasn't ON schedule? Did you know that I arranged my delivery this way because my current vehicle is in the shop and I have no transportation to work, which is 45 minutes from my home? What call back number should I use? So, I called the number back that had called me. The number was a Washington DC number. The lady who answered the phone was highly confused. I explained the situation to her, she put me on hold and consulted with her coworkers only to come back on the line nearly 8 minutes later to tell me the "local" representative could help me. I asked why this number came up in my call log and she stated that the number is part of a trunk system that is used in this region but may not come from the local office. She gave me the "local" number and I called that representative. I explained my frustration with the whole situation to the local representative, Chris, who was very understanding and assured me, "this happens all the time on Monday mornings." Chris was willing to get me a rental car as I explained I was without a vehicle and had to borrow my boyfriend's car. He went through the motions however, the rental didn't work out due to the timing of the rental office closing and my work schedule. I then consulted with my boyfriend who was able to help me by allowing me the use of his car for the foreseeable future, until my car arrived. I requested that Chris have Carvana reimburse him for the mileage I would be adding to the vehicle calculated at the standard federal rate. He agreed to that. It is probably much cheaper than a rental. After several calls it was relayed to me that my car was in Pennsylvania. (It originated from a TX dealership) It was now scheduled for delivery to the local affiliate Thursday morning. I would receive the vehicle Thursday evening. Upon delivery two additional dents, one very deep, down to the metal, were noted and photographed. I drove the vehicle and accepted delivery. I was told that Carvana would contact me in reference to the two additional dents not noted in the original sale. They emailed 3 days later offering me a $100 which is how much they would discount the vehicle for the additional damage. Also, at the time of delivery I was told I would need to have a front license plate cover installed as they didn't want to put holes in my bumper to do it themselves. I was told not to worry it is covered by the insurance. Upon reading the insurance stipulations I would have to pay a $50 copay. The cost to purchase and install the plate holder was $35. At the time of delivery I was told that my permanent plates would be fedexed to me overnight and that had I not received them by the week prior to expiration I was to call Carvana for a resolution. Tagging: Fast forward to 8/6/19, I respond to the email requesting an update for the check and tags. Fast forward to 8/13/19, with still no response via email, I call Carvana. I placed the call at 9:02 am. I was told my wait was less than five minutes. Then 15 seconds later I was told my wait was less than 20 minutes and I could leave a call back number without losing my spot in line. 9:27 I call back. 9:34 the call is taken by Monet and at 9:35 I was put on hold as she researched my tags. At 9:42 she came back on the line and said she couldn't reach anyone at the local office to discern where my tags were. The plan then was read more

DO NOT BUY FROM CARVANA! I realize the title is an absolute. Let me explain why I used the title. On Jan 28th we traded a vehicle and purchased a vehicle from CARVANA. This was our 11th purchase with them since they started. We have been loyal and until this last purchase have been impressed with their support, the compassion and professionalism of the people we have worked with. I would go as far to say some have been stellar and very impressive relative to solving problems and challenges over the years. This all changed on January 28, 2022. The Jan 28th 2022 purchase put an end to our long-standing impression of the company. A couple facts: 1. Vehicle they delivered was leaking oil and needed $10,628 of work and wasn't safe to drive. 2. Our trade has still not been paid off after 50 days. 3. We attempted to replace the initial purchase with 3 other vehicles which all made it to the hub and the day of delivery and hours before the scheduled delivery time we would receive a text letting us know the vehicles were undeliverable. From engine lights, strange screeching noises, brakes not working, to we don't know what's wrong but we have to get something fixed. We tried! We tried hard. Made compromises on what we wanted and tried so hard to buy a car. We were told multiple times that our trade "should have been paid off and that they don't know why treasury hadn't paid it off yet". I even spoke with our current lender and they confirmed that CARVANA had requested payoff info as late as March 8th. The lender has serious concerns and will look into this once the payoff is completed. We provided Capital One all the images, emails and texts so they are fully aware of the experience. Since we were essentially down to one vehicle we had to use Uber as a second vehicle to do the things we had to do while one of us was working. We were told "don't keep track of the receipts, I don't want to add them up so I can just send $750 to compensate for the hassle and travel". We agreed and felt that was fair and would cover our expenses since the vehicle they delivered on 1/28/22 was not drivable. It just sat in our garage and dripped oil. It took them 6 weeks to finally come and pick up the car with a tow truck. And at this point were told by Executive Resolution people (2 different "Case Managers") that they would follow through with their commitments, get our trade paid off, and do what is right. One even apologized profusely in email about our experience and could not believe this had happened to us. We learned from a prior purchase to record calls with CARVANA because they had previously promised us $250 for delay hassles and frustration. This was never sent. We have tracked every name, date, time, and notes from every conversation and have every conversation recorded. My attempts to speak with them ended after being yelled at and berated during our last conversation with Lena from Executive Resolution team. She was rude, dispassionate, and indifferent. She even threatened to return our trade during the call. We could not believe the posture and rudeness expressed to us. This was the same person that 10 days before said she would send us $750 for our transportation cost for Uber and our hassles during the purchase. In order not to get too granular, their vehicles rarely arrive clean. They rarely arrive on time. From watching vehicles go from purchase pending back to inventory, appears they have about 25-30% of their vehicles declined upon delivery and are returned back into their inventory. Our trade has showed sold for the past three weeks. We had been loyal. We had purchased 11 cars from them. We had recommended them to family and friends and I feel horrible about that. Simply put. You can not trust them. They may not follow through with promises. They may discreetly add conditions when wrapping up calls that are not even connected to the promises made earlier in calls only to come back later and trap you into being honest with them just to say "ah-ha, got you". It's so sad to see what CARVANA has become. They are no longer a caring, trustworthy, or capable I feel. Instead they are dismissive, disingenuous, and a disrespectful company. I miss the old CARVANA. Don't buy from them. Go to a local dealer. Put up with their ridiculous games they play. Spend hours you don't want to spend. But, at least, at the end of that horrifying experience you will have the opportunity to buy a quality vehicle and leave feeling exhausted but happy the next morning you walk out and get in your new car. If you buy from CARVANA it may become a nightmare that 51 days later we are still experiencing. They still have not paid off our trade. read more

Growing pains begin to show but still best option My girlfriend (now fiancé) bought a 2012 Cadillac SRX in November of 2015. She was blown away by how easy and pleasant the experience was from A-Z I wanted to buy a Wrangler unlimited Sahara so we began looking on Carvana and found a good selection and as always good prices. The online portion of this purchase was flawless. The first hiccup came when one customer advocate said I could pick up my car in Nashville at the vending machine on Monday or Tuesday 1/1-1/2. Would have been a 10 hour drive but I was off those two days anyway. ROAD TRIP!!!! I started planning the trip, good thing I did not call my friend and invite him to go. I got an email to call. The delivery had been delayed. New date was Thursday 1/6 meeting driver about 35 miles north of where I live. His name was Bobby. Like all Carvana employees he was professional, courteous, knowledgeable and polite. There were some items missing from the car so he ordered them for me. He also sat patiently while I took a 30 minute test ride. He answered a question about tag transfer as well for me. It was dusk, almost dark when I picked up the car. The next day I noticed the interior was showroom clean and engine compartment was close to it. (2nd hiccup)The exterior, however was fairly dirty. Like it had sat a bit. White vehicles in particular show water run off and road dirt. When I got off of work on Friday I called the Silver rock warranty company to set up getting a 2nd key. Bobby said there was only one when he delivered it but the warranty company would pay for another. (3rd Hiccup) This first call was at 3:30. The SR Rep could not find my account with phone #, last 6 of vehicle VIN, or my name. I was put on a long hold while Silver rock called Carvana. Come to find out, my contract had not been processed. Before I hung up with Rep I confirmed with her that I was 15 mins from dealership and asked her, "Now this same thing isn't going to happen at the dealership?" She said, "Oh no, contract is being put in Now. It will be in there when they call from dealership. Of course it wasn't. The keys are the type that have to be programmed. The techs leave at 5pm so I said, "Go ahead, I will pay the $250 if they don't. Not about to go home and have to come back" to the service writer. Maybe the 3rd time I called the Rep who contacted the department that enters the contracts and promised me she would call me back when it was good to go. This was approximately 1hr after my initial call on the way to dealership.This made 3 calls from me and service writer combined. She never called me back (Emily maybe). I called them back at almost 5pm (4th call in 1.5 hrs). Another rep confirmed it was in so service writer (5th call) called and payment was made. So in closing, we loved everything about Carvana in our first deal and told tons of people. This time, there was a lot of good in the deal but a number of times the ball was certainly dropped. Please focus on that original vision Carvana. We were your biggest advocates, telling people all the time about how easy and wonderful buying a car is from y'all. Now, I wouldn't feel comfortable not including at least some of these hiccups when I tell people to dump the dealership. I got a great deal, on a great car. Little below average on trade in but I was cool with that. $500 off for friends referral, no doc fees, free 100 day warranty and NO SALES PEOPLE, FINANCE PEOPLE, EXTENDED WARRANTY PEOPLE which make traditional car buying unbearably bad. Had a few things messed up but all addressed eventually. Only had the car since Thursday evening. Will update if anything changes. read more

I recently took delivery of my 2014 P{rius C from Carvana .I had started out looking for either a smart ED or NIssan Leaf. I really thought an all electric car would work for my commute. I was searching when i found Carvana. I had originally ordered a 2015 Nissan Leaf from Carvana. When i discovered an error in the cars information listing(it said the car had a quick charge port, but it did not), i reconsidered my choice. I should say here that i actually did not discover the error, i asked a customer service person to verify that the car did have the port, and he checked and discovered that it did not. So after discussing it with the wife, we decided that a hybrid might be a better option anyway, so we went with a Prius C. The entire process was pretty much painless, and all people involved were very polite and genuinely tried to be helpful. It is my understanding that Carvana just recently started doing business in the Pittsburgh area, and i was one of their first customers. There were a few glitches that came up, that i would think will be addressed in the future. Firstly, The car came to me without PA state inspection. CArvana does not have an inspection license, so they cannot inspect cars. IN PA, a non dealer cannot get a PA inspection, only the registered owner can. When buying a used car form a local dealer, they always have a new sticker on it. That is something that i will have to deal with (and pay for) with my Carvana purchase. Andrew, the young man who delivered my car, brought me a $25 gift card to compensate for the expense. I let him know that it would cost me more than that to get the car inspected, so he promised to send me another $25 gift card, which showed up in less than a week. Other than that, the process was smooth and painless. I love the car, it is very clean and exactly as described. The deal i got was fair. I would do business with them again. Their "7 day test own" is an awesome program, and they called me twice during those 7 days to see if i was satisfied and asked if i wanted to keep the car, or if they should come back and get it. I also love the fact that they don't charge an extra couple of hundred dollars like dealers do for paperwork. They only charge the fees that the state charges for title and registration. Thats a couple of hundred bucks in savings right off the bat. I loved the fact that they delivered the car right to my home on their own flatbed truck. The car was immaculate, they do a terrific job of detailing before delivery. As i said above, it was exactly as described and pictured on their website, no surprises whatever. I have purchased and owned over 100 vehicles in my life, and i like this process a lot better than the silly kabuki dance at the dealer. 3/22/2017 update. I am 100% happy with my car after driving it for almost 5 months. A cool touch was i discovered a $25 gift card taped to the back of the fuel door when i finally had to refill my tank .Nice! read more

This company has really let me down. My delivery was delayed multiple times which cost me because I bought car insurance starting the original delivery date. Then they said they would reimburse me. I have not received anything and its almost October. Then they said registration would be taken care of, paperwork submitted and paid for. The car was delivered with a temporary plate and I was to receive my actual plates within 2 weeks. No plates and temporary tag was about to expire. I called and they said to wait a couple days then call back. Nothing so I called and was promised an extension on the temporary tag. Had to call back quite a few times to know the status since I hadn't received the email or the document that was to be added to my "dashboard" on their website. After multiple calls I finally received the new tag and it was for Tenessee. I live in Georgia! They said it would be ok, that I can operate the vehicle. I still did not receive the Georgia plates so I called Carvana again. They said registration is through a third party and they have no access to the information or any way to contact the third party to see what the issue was but it said "processed" in their notes. Then I called my local tag office. They said they received paperwork but Carvana never paid. I asked how much and it was $20. I figure fine I'll pay but the tag office hours of operation are during my work hours/closed on weekends and I won't make it on time unless I request time off from work. I am a teacher of small children and not able to just call out. Carvana said they would reimburse me the $20. So I felt alright with that even though they should've handled it originally as the process is supposed to be handled. Temp tag expires October 7,2021. I figured I should be able to get my official plates by then. Well today, September 27,2021, I got pulled over on the way home from work because they saw the original temporary tag was expired but then I showed them the Tenessee temporary tag. They looked it up and it was not on file. It was fraudulent! Now I have a ticket and have a fine to pay for driving an unregistered vehicle even though Carvana set that tag up and said it was legit. I trusted them! I have called and spoken to 5 different people (I talked in a calm, professional manner because its not the current representative's fault, its whoever set up the tag and the third party registration personnel) and each call has gone blank!At the beginning of each call they state that they work from home because of Covid so if the call is dropped they will call right back. None did! I have been on hold on the phone waiting for another attempt to have them fix this mess. I tried the automatic call back system. I tried the texting route. And no help! This is really awful and I plan to leave as many poor reviews as possible to warn everyone and even sue if I have to. This must be made right. read more

I saw the ad on a Saturday morning. After 45 minutes online I had purchased a 2016 Lexus ES 300H. I am a former CEO and current senior executive at a nonprofit and I was amazed at the forethought every step of the way. I figured that first the car may not have clean history. Nope, it did and was guaranteed as well as still on Lexus Warranty. Then, I figured they would low ball my trade. Nope, right on target with my searches online for resale/trade value. Then, I figured they would try to push a higher financing rate. Nope, matched the credit unions we have used for previous car loans. Scanned title, Drivers License....done. Scheduled delivery. Met with Eddie. Test drove it while he tested mine. Looked the car over one last time and saw two rash marks on one side - nothing major - that'd not been reported. He took photos. They are sending me check for $350 to have those buffed out. Called to make sure I still liked it as the next day was the end of the 7th day return option. Yep. I love it. I did not spend half a day or more in a dealership. No haggling. No pressure. Great customer service all the way around. Even mailed me a CD I had left in the dash player of the trade in. I did not expect a perfect car as it has 36,000 miles on it, but with the additional $350 after identifying some rub marks, I think I got a steal from what similar cars were priced at in our market. My only complaint is a minor one - the detailing could have been better. I'm not sure if this was done at point of origin or Chicago, but it seemed like it was done at a car wash and not the same as dealerships that truly detail and dress a pre owned vehicle for pick up. Dusty inside with a dead moth between the windshield and dash. As a positive, some marks on the top of the rear bumper were really just hits and marks on the adhesive protector. Eddie pulled that off and I used some elbow grease and hand sanitizer gel to rub the tough adhesive off. It was worth 30 minutes of work to realize that an area that had been marked as Level 1 was really not. With that said 99.9999% awesome. A+. Easiest car buying experience that I have ever had. The $350 repair offer really made my day the day before I could have returned it. Bravo, Carvana. I have literally told dozens of people about my positive experience. You'll mostly read negatives about car buying as happy customers don't take the time as much to self report unless surveyed or incentivized. I was neither. As a corporate leader, I take the time whenever I can to take surveys or report experiences. I will do here more in the future. I hope those that read this will understand that there may be proportionally more negative reviews for car buying than say a restaurant. read more

Why would not just ONE, but MULTIPLE employees give the same address to send loan approval documents? Why have an unmonitored email address? AND then give it out to customers? FRAUD? All of the conversations were recorded. The "executive" at Carvana confirmed the email address and information I was given was provided by THEIR employees. I followed all of their procedures. Carvana said the documents were not seen by their underwriting team to an email address I was given by their employees!, so the car was placed back on sale and available. Someone came in and purchased the car I had a contract and the financing on. I can only guess the new buyer used their financing which they can make more money on. They were unwilling to cancel the other parties transaction even though I had a prior claim to the car. The response I received was "sorry, human error. How about $500 off any car we have?" F YOU! DO NOT BUY A CAR FROM CARVANA. They will leave you stuck with a subpar vehicle and they have horrible customer service. Trying to return this lemon has been a nightmare. They are all "working from home" so you are never routed to the correct person and you are stuck repeating yourself because they keep poor notes (if any at all). Each rep tells you something different and you can not just work with one person. Trust me, I've asked multiple times because the runaround is nauseating. You are waiting hours on the phone and this is no exaggeration, unfortunately. It is THE worst car buying experience I have ever had. At 8pm (5 hours beyond my quoted delivery time), they asked me to come and get the car myself at the hub. I had to speak to someone about that and the car got delivered an hour later. It was a gift for my daughter who was thrilled... until she started to drive it and it made this wretched sound. By then (within 10 minutes of it being dropped off), the delivery driver was long gone. There is no way they could have missed that this car was clearly in NO shape to be sold/delivered. I called first thing the next morning and got the complete runaround. I am talking ring around the rosies...pockets full of posies runaround. Now, (3 weeks later) I am still trying to get this issue rectified. The problem? When I initiated the exchange the next day they said the new car was being transported. The system registered it as a new sale and they wanted to run my credit all over again (creating another inquiry). I told them (them being about 5 different people) this was an even swap. Finally, after about 2 hours they said they fixed the issue on their end. The following day, I was told that the delivery date for the new car was unclear because the car "got lost" during transport. By then, my other contract was cancelled so both deals fell through. WAIT...there's more. They never came and got the first car (Screech). It is like they totally lost track of where it is at this point. Every time I call there is no record of this car..which means I can't get it fixed (despite me having paid for the warranty because it was cancelled), can't register it even if I wanted to keep it (which I don't), AND my daughter can't drive it without triggering people's anxiety every time it howls. So, now I am still waiting for "someone to look into the matter and call me back". I call everyday and this is the response. A mess...Please stay away...do yourself a favor and wait the hours in the dealership. I know it is a pain...but this is a special kind of torture. Both vehicles (Screech and Ghost) were C-Class Mercedes Benzes. Never again for me. read more

In May we purchased a used vehicle from Carvana. In the next 45 days it broke down 3 times. After several repairs Carvana refused to fix it (even though it was the same issue) because it was slightly outside of the warranty they provided. We had broken down several times in this vehicle, most notably on the side of the highway 2 hours from home with our newborn in the vehicle in 95 degree heat. After multiple attempts pleading with Carvana to fix this lemon they eventually told us 'too bad, so sad.' Unrelenting, I sent an email to Carvanas legal team and asserted that the vehicle met the statuatory requirements to be considered a lemon. Their attorney, Grace, reached out and agreed to replace the vehicle to give us "a better experience." Right, I had to contact your legal team in order for you to agree to replace the vehicle. More like Carvana felt it was too costly to defend a lemon law case they were unlikely to win. Fast forward 2 weeks, we still do not have a new vehicle and they are playing games and putting us through hell trying to get a replacement vehicle. Everyone should be made aware that purchasing a vehicle from Carvana is incredibly risky and in the event of an issue they will have little recourse. I would not wish this experience on anyone. We are out thousands of dollars in expenses related to this vehicle, not to mention paying for insurance premiums while the vehicle sat in a shop absolutely useless. Carvana was less than helpful and every bit of this process has been painstakingly difficult because there staff does not have any training on how to handle situations like this. Long story short, do not purchase a car from Carvana. They knowingly sell defective vehicles and see absolutely nothing wrong with it. They put me and my families safety in jeopardy in a vehicle that was never roadworthy. Not only that but in addition to the mechanical issues, our car had been hit and repainted. No accident was disclosed or reported to Carfax, but it was clear from the mismatched paint. If you purchase from Carvana you never know what you will get. Go to a dealership at least you can really see what you're purchasing. Their pictures are great at hiding defects (must be the lighting). I have sent over 40 emails, 50 phone calls, and spent 25+ hours on the phone dealing with them and their customer "advocates." The only thing Carvana advocates for is itself. I would strongly advise against buying from Carvana. You may get a great car or you may not. In the event you do not prepare for a living hell. I have broke down more in 1 month in Carvanas vehicle than in all of my life. read more

WOW!! That was EASY!! BYE BYE DEALERSHIP! OK first off let me say that I wasn't looking for a car. I was on the internet and stumbled across this site. Started looking and within MINUTES seen a CAR I like and a price I LOVED!. Started filling out the paperwork and yea that was QUICK. I verified everything by the next day. Didn't really like the value they were giving for my trade-in. But I didn't really care because of the car and the price. There was a 2 day delay in getting the car but it arrived within a week. Before they arrived Carvana called and said "WE MADE A MISTAKE ON THE VALUE OF YOUR CAR" and gave me a lot more! I needed to go online and re-sign the retail agreement. Um SURE! DONE~! OK I didn't ASK they just DID and REMEMBER I was OK with what they were giving me for my trade-in. RIGHT THERE, SOLD! They showed up on time and very very professional. He explained everything (did a very good job making sure I understood, but I was so impressed I didn't care). Now before they arrived, he asked me over the phone if I was excited. I was like....I guess MAYBE. By the time they left, I was so EXCITED I could do CARTWHEELS. THANK YOU CARVANA, THAT WAS E A S Y ! ! ! *************************SIDE BAR********************** Little background I am a dealership's dream. I don't haggle about anything, negotiate nothing. My trade in with CARVANA was my first BRAND NEW car. Friend and I went looking at cars one day. We got to the dealership. I told the salesman I wanted a blue civic with a clicker (keyless entry). I'm not RICH or anything like that. He told me what my monthly payment would be. Took my old car in for trade (not even sure how much I got for it). We were out of the DEALERSHIP in 45 MINUTES! On the way home and still to this day. Brandon (friend) can't stop talking about how fast I was in and out of their and how he felt he was on an episode of SUPERMARKET SWEEP! SO THAT'S HOW EASY I AM ! ! ! BUT! CARVANA was even EASIER! (I know easy!) ******************2ND SIDE BAR************************* I normally would never do this (remember I'm E A S Y). While waiting for my car to arrive I did a little research. We have a Fiat dealer here in town. I checked out Year Make and Model of cars of comparable to what I got. So, I'm looking to buy a fun car for myself. I have a specific make and model so I begin to hunt for it. I visit some local used car places, but selection is slim and sales pitches are plentiful. I look to the web to expand my buying choices in hopes of finding my little car. All the dot coms I could think of, Ebay, Cars, Autotrader etc... Then I searched on Craigslist and found a car close enough to what I was looking for so I investigated further. I read that it is being sold buy Carvana, so I go straight to the Carvana website and start to poke around. Sure enough there is the car I had seen on Craigslist along with several other very awesome choices. I had a field day picking out my new little fun car. Then it hit me, I am buying a car sight unseen over the web. I could just see my grandfather's face telling me I am crazy. Or that the car was someone else' lemon that would become some sort of money pit. Like most, I started to research this Carvan car dealer. I searched the internet for complaints, read several reviews of prior purchases. I even purchased my own VIN check. All looked good so I jumped in.The process was as easy as described on the website. Finance rate was better than any other offers out there. Carvana even beat the CarMax estimate by $500 bucks. The new car was under manufactures warranty which was a big plus! I figured with the 7 day 100 mile test period and no off putting record history on the car I was pretty much covered if i felt the deal was not for me. I couldn't be happier with the car. Like some I did have to wait on my new tags. I elected to surrender an old vanity plate for a new one which added to the turn time. It was no big deal as the temp tag the Carvana associate placed on my new car was much better than a taped piece of paper stuck to the bumper. The temp was an embossed state seal temp tag that adhered to a nice Carvana logo plate. I was not worried in the least that the new tag would not arrive and sure enough, 2 weeks after the second temp tag was delivered my permanent plate did arrive. I now have an awesome car that I definitely could not have found locally. It is quite cool to have a one of a kind car in the neighborhood. I would absolutely do it again. Let me begin by stating that I do not work for Carvana and this is not one of those fake reviews that some companies and dealerships would publish. I am also not tech savvy so this was a big risk for me to purchase a car offline as well as trusting the companies' pictures and description. After picking and reserving my car online I called to make sure that I was following all of the correct steps and the young lady was very helpful. Although I could have done everything without assistance I did not want to take the risk. I even went with Carvana's credit offer as this was 0.50% less than my own bank, and this was approved in less than a minute. When everything was done I picked a delivery time and date and patiently waited, unfortunately Murphy's Law made a visit. I opened the site to show my son a picture of the car and it did not say "purchased" it had "car available for purchase". I immediately called and the very nice young man confirmed that there had been a glitch but that I should not worry. I thanked him and then got a call back a few minutes later from a manager who first apologized for the glitch, then said that they were working on everything but the car was still set for my delivery date and time. I do not know, or care, what happened because it was something with a computer and not a person. All I care about was the professional attitude of Carvana as they kept calling and updating me. On the delivery day the driver called to confirm everything and she even apologized that she was going to be about 15 minutes early for the delivery. Yes, apologized for being early. After taking my car off of the truck we were given an hour to look it over and test drive, which has never been an option at a car dealership. After the test drive we signed a few sheets of paper, accepted out keys, and started out 7 day trial which is something else a dealer has never offered before. I highly recommend Carvana to anyone looking for a car as my experience was wonderful and the car was better than I expected. We are still looking for the two spots the detail person said were wrong with the paint. After looking at several cars on other sites and at dealers, I saved around $2,200 on the purchase and did not have to play negotiation games at the dealership. read more

My review is to allow transparency to help other buyers make a decision based on mine and other reviews. Cons: 1.) I originally selected a '15 Challenger R/T Shaker and was very excited about receiving the vehicle. The day prior I was notified there would be a 3-week delay, as during pre-loading the vehicle began to overheat. Due to the age of the vehicle and limited amount of factory warranty remaining I chose to select another vehicle. After reading other reviews it was very obvious that the company likely did not perform an inspection of the vehicle, as it was found to be overheating at the time of loading. 2.) The second vehicle was delivered as the 2nd choice to the first vehicle (Not what I consider to be Carvana's fault, as any used vehicle is subject to have issues regardless of inspection). The 2nd vehicle I know did not receive an inspection, as there were a couple of fluids that were low and the intake hose to the filter housing was not connected to the filter box. The wheels have some areas of paint that are delaminating, which was not noted in the vehicle descriptions anywhere. Going off of their imperfections definitions this would be a level 2. (I plan to replace the wheels to allow a wider tire anyway, so I did not reject the vehicle.) The 2nd vehicle did not arrive clean and there was wax on everything, including the plastic. Anyone that knows anything about cars understands the amount of plastic on a Dodge Challenger. I spent most of today removing wax and restoring the plastics. The car is an '18 and now that it is clean it is definitely something that I am satisfied with. 3.) The company's website says that ALL Vehicles come with two sets of keys, the driver informed me that mine only came with one. They did not have the second set of keys. (Cost of second key, approximately $300 once purchased and programmed). This is the main reason for the 2-star review. Pros: 1.) Every time I've contacted the company the CSRs have been extremely pleasant to deal with and I give them 5-stars on that portion of the business. 2.) Awesome Driver - Stephen was his name. My experience with Carvana has been an absolute nightmare, and I feel obligated to warn others about the dangers and incompetence I've encountered. I purchased an Infiniti G37 online, touted as "Carvana Certified." However, the moment I hit speeds above 40 mph, the vehicle began shaking violently, with violent steering feedback. I took it to Firestone Auto Care, a repair shop recommended by Carvana, only to discover that the axle was bent and needed replacement. Deciding to give Carvana the benefit of the doubt, I attempted to trade it in for another vehicle. But instead of rectifying the situation, the advocate informed me that I shouldn't have even been allowed to pick up the first car. Frustrated and fed up, I requested a pickup to return the vehicle. Did Carvana respond? No. Not on Friday, not on Saturday, not on Sunday, not even on Monday. When I finally managed to reach a representative, I was told my vehicle file had been "accidentally deleted," and now I have to wait another 2-5 business days just to begin the return process. This has been by far the worst customer experience of my life. I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy. Carvana's negligence and disregard for customer safety are appalling. And to top it off, they have the audacity to lie about their so-called "150 point inspection." I guess it was presumptive of me to assume that the 150-point inspection included the steering, alignment, or mechanical components of the vehicle. I refuse to let others fall victim to Carvana's deceit and endangerment. I will be sharing my story on every platform possible to protect fellow consumers. Avoid Carvana like the plague unless you enjoy being lied to, endangered, and treated like garbage. Go to a traditional dealership where you have some recourse. Furthermore, I'll be reporting Carvana to the Better Business Bureau and filing a complaint with the FCC. It's time for Carvana to be held accountable for their deceptive practices and blatant disregard for customer safety. Lastly, if all that is enough, no one, including the 6 customer "advocates", 2 hub employees, and higher level employees at Carvana have made a singular effort to remedy the situation. read more
