They are all now a part of our Family and will be Remembered on a daily basis. Without their experience and professional but comforting attention, this could have been anything less than perfect. The whole experience was, in fact, Perfect on all levels. Thank You All. We Love You. Could not recommend more. They will give you a warm hug, take your hand and memorialize your Loved One with Grace and Compassion.

The staff here - primarily comprised of Joe - couldn't be better. Last summer, I found myself in need, for the first time, of making arrangements for a funeral & burial. Joe was just wonderful - walked me though all my questions regarding purchasing a plot, what kind of plot I wanted/needed, drove me around the cemetery grounds showing me which plots where available - in short, I liked Prospect Hill so much (both the location and the service here), that I've since purchased several more plots here - establishing a kind of a family plot to be near my deceased grandmother in this beautiful cemetery. And speaking to that point, they have a nice system where you can 'reserve' one or more plots you wish to purchase - you pay a small part of the price upfront, and then have a longer period of time to pay the remainder of the plot's price. If you change your mind and don't pay it, the only 'penalty' is you'll lose your down payment - but that's really just a reimbursement to Prospect Hill for taking your plot off the market while you're deciding. All in all, I really recommend Prospect Hill Cemetery - the location is beautiful, and the staff is respectful, kind, and great to work with. May God bless them for the wonderful service they provide to people during an especially trying time.

Omps provided horrible, Unfeeling and uncaring service to my family when my 40 year old son who was also a father sadly and suddenly died of a heart attack. The service was the worst possible! They overcharged us and acted in a rude and unprofessional way. Even using an inappropriate attempt at Funeral Humor. Which as a grieving parent is about the last thing you wish to hear. You make up your own mind I think behavior such as this has no place at any time or in any place. We certainly will not ever again use this organization!

All the staff there are very kind and professional and go above and beyond in customer service. The Funeral Director, Matthew Shehan, was nothing less than perfect in his work ethic, professionalism and compassion in assisting our family with the details in the handling of Bonnie's funeral arrangements. At first we weren't sure that we were going to have an open casket because we didn't think that she would look like herself but Matthew assured us that he would be able to and he did. We were able to find and compile many photos of Bonnie and sent them to Matthew. By the next day he was able to get them processed into a memorial DVD to be played at the planned memorial service. The DVD photo montage was very professional and tastefully produced. He also chose the perfect photos to use for bookmarks and programs and those turned out beautiful as well. I have nothing but high praise for Matthew Shehan and all the staff at Omps Funeral Home. Special thanks to Kandis Jenkins for assisting us with follow up paperwork and copies. Thanks for looking out for my dad. Thank you all for everything.

My nearly 95 year old grandmother passed away last year, and my family is so grateful to have chosen Maddox Funeral Home. The entire staff was not only sympathetic and helpful, but they were very sincere without any affectation. We particularly had a lot of interaction with Torena and Keith. Keith was the one who came out to our home the night my grandmother passed away to bring her remains to the Funeral Home. Although it was likely a 45 minute drive for him at about 1 o'clock in the morning, his manner was completely competent, compassionate and kind. It was a very comforting element in that fresh moment of loss. Every step along the way, I found the staff's assistance to be both personally supportive and professionally stabilizing. More than once, I made last minute calls to the office to ask Torena time-sensitive questions - and every time I received the help I needed. Without making or pressuring our decisions, the people at Maddox Funeral Home helped guide us through all the necessary details and choices we needed to make. It really took a burden off our minds to know that nothing was slipping through the cracks, and that everything was being handled well. For those who are in need of such services and may be considering using Maddox Funeral Home, I heartily encourage you to do so. Having their assistance and utilizing their talents at such a critical and difficult time was truly a great blessing for my family. It is a peace, greatly cherished, to know that the final services rendered to my dear grandmother were of such an excellent and respectful nature - and God bless them for that.

Never got the life they thought they still had ahead of them. Just endless rows of white stones stretching across the quiet hills of Winchester, Virginia. More than 5,000 Union soldiers are buried there -- many of them killed in the endless fighting that tore through the Shenandoah Valley during the Civil War. Some have names. Many do not. Winchester itself became one of the most fought-over towns in America. The town changed hands over 70 times during the war and saw THREE major battles: * First Winchester (1862) -- Stonewall Jackson launched a surprise attack that sent Union General Nathaniel Banks retreating north in panic. The victory helped turn Jackson into a Confederate legend. * Second Winchester (1863) -- Confederate General Richard Ewell crushed Union defenses just weeks before Gettysburg, capturing thousands of Union soldiers and opening the road north for Lee's invasion. * Third Winchester (1864) -- one of the bloodiest battles in the Shenandoah Valley. Sheridan's Union forces slammed into Confederate lines around forts, fields, and stone walls surrounding the town. Casualties piled up by the thousands. Walking that cemetery today, you realize you aren't looking at one battle. You're looking at years of accumulated sacrifice from the same valley. Young men from Vermont. Ohio farm boys. Massachusetts factory workers. Immigrants from New York. And now they all rest together beneath identical white stones. That's what Memorial Day is really about -- not just history, but remembering the human cost behind it. We were very impressed with the care this area took to preserve these sacred grounds.
