I needed a somewhat complicated 5 channel camera install so my AMG had Tesla like surveillance, including parking mode. Took a lot of wiring for all the cams and special power supply units. Randy the manager was very receptive to my requirements and specific instructions. He communicated very well throughout the course of the install, and is very knowledgeable. Ben was the technician and he did a fantastic job, clearly showing his decades of experience. Everything worked perfectly and the install was super clean without any lengthy cords, battery nor data storage units in sight, and my vehicle fitted with a nearly 360 degree surveillance solution. I do not recommend Cartronics on Carothers. I visited the store with my new car and arranged an appointment for a 12 volt outlet to be installed in the front in the cab area. The man at the counter advised it would be a one hour job if I appeared right at 8 am on the day of the appointment and that the installer would talk to me on the day of installation about the exact location. I walked in at 7:59am. Waited quite awhile for amother customer to be helped. And realized that appointments have no priority over walk in customers. I told the man at the counter that the agreement was that the installer would consult with me before installation for the exact location of the outlet. Some time went by and I went to the counter again and repeated that the location of the outlet was to be determined before the installation. He said he would talk to the guy in the back. After 2 1/2 hours, the car was finished. No one consulted with me about the location of the outlet. The outlet is unusable unless I develop another joint in my arm to reach it. It cannot be moved in the panel to a different location without leaving a gaping hole in my new car. Very poor communication. This could have been a good review but I am sorry I contracted with these people. No wonder there are so many bad reviews. read more

Just over a year and half ago, I had the team here install the new/upgrade soundbar and speaker system for our JL Series Jeep Wrangler Unlimited. They talked me into the 'made for my vehicle' new Alpine system. I upgraded the head unit, got a new amp, but no sub, just an fyi on that one. We are impeccably careful with our audio systems, both in our automobiles, and the systems in our house. No excessive volume, bass, etc. We like quality over blown systems or eardrums. Well, as we speak, my 'new' soundbar system sounds like garbage, one of the sides is rattling and making that 'completely blown' sound. We don't even have the bass enhancer button turned on the head unity. Not to mention, we have the EQ set to very reasonable levels. Not only is Alpine not standing by this piece of garbage setup, but I have to pay $135 just to get them to look at it and try to diagnose the problem. Whaaaat??? I will not be back here again, nor will i ever purchase the overpriced Alpine speakers they have seemed to be. Extremely disappointed in the support. I've written a review previously about the amazing work Jerry and his team have done in upgrading my '95 Honda Passport. But this next modification was stunning. They switched out old halogen headlight bulbs for newer LED set-ups and lighting is incredible. It's so good I'm taking my 2019 Honda CRV to get the factory installed LED swapped out. Everything is illuminated now at night. All street signs no matter how bad their condition are clearly illuminated. Reflective clothing on pedestrians and on drivers glow. And this is without the high beam setting selected. I was expecting some increased brightness but not to this level. If you got an older car like me, I highly recommend you do this. read more

I brought my GMC SIERRA Denali to the brentwood location wanting my sundown audio SA12s put in my MTI box, I had already bought the 1/0 wiring kit along with a LLJ T-harness for plug and play to the LOC since I'm keeping my factory 8" head unit. I should have knew better when they called and said I wouldn't need the 17' RCA, that the 3' is all I would need. I got there, paid over $300 for a install of wires and amp which I'll touch base on shortly. I drove about 40 mins home playing it, sounded ok but was a bit muddy. Got home and checked out the work. They grounded my amp with 2 self tapping screws. ‍ but wait.. there's more. The power wire was run nice through the firewall and the connection to one of the batteries was good. The problem I have is the T L-harness was NOT used, again, this is a plug and play situation. Plug into the factory harness, the wires then get put into the LOC, the RCA is run from the loc to the amp. The LOC was using wires from where they tapped into the factory BOSE amp. WHY? The t harness was there to use, you all was very well aware of this along with the noise cancellation harness as well which was also not used. They spliced into my factory wires which I DID not want done reason I bought the T-Harness to avoid that. I did send them an email in which I have not heard back from them. Not sure what will be done. The damage is already done., The amp install was $200 and I supplied all the wiring. $25 was to bench test my equipment which was brand new. Wow what a joke. $50 to install a bass knob, $40 of which was for the 3' rca "I needed". The box has LEDS in it, they told me they couldn't find the connector so they couldn't hook it up, I mentioned to them on the phone it's in the back of the box plugged in. Not sure if they just didn't care or didn't see it plugged into the connection. Either way It was where I mentioned to them it was. Now with all that said looks like I'm going to have the issues addressed elsewhere. Lesson learned. read more

Real nice guys. I called them, they said come by in an hour. I had an old alarm in my 99 Tacoma they call a Gulf Coast Alarm. Toyota dealers threw in cheap alarms to raise the sticker price along the Gulf Coast back then. I showed up an hour later, and they went to work in 5 minutes. 20 minutes later, I could start my truck again and that monstrosity with 10 wires everywhere was out and the factory wiring all hooked back up. I was charged over 2x what I was quoted over the telephone for a remote start installation. They also took longer to install than originally quoted. When I returned to pick up my car, the dash had several warnings on the dash. I asked why these lights were activated. They took the car back in and 20 minutes later said they had no idea why the lights went on and could not make them go off. I rolled into Cartronics last week concerned that my speakers were not working on my drivers side of my car. A young guy went to check out my car and was able to have them working. Its been a year of not working it was a relief. He went back in the store. I thanked him and asked what I owed him he said nothing I thanked him. While the speakers they installed my car were fine, Cartronics tended to cut corners with me, for example, not installing a new subwoofer, (which makes the car sound like it has no bass), not putting new wiring in the car, which caused all the speakers they installed to stop working, which required me to take it to another repair shop to get it fixed. And these are just the installation issues. The customer service is awful. I had a tracker installed in my car that wasn't working, so I had gone back in to ask Cartronics assistance, since they installed it. Not only were they unwilling to help, but they were unbelievably rude, suggesting that I "take a hike." All in all, they do cheap installation work, which will break, and the customer service sucks. My wife has been driving her car for years with blown speakers and a factory installed radio. She didn't want me to put a new radio in, because of the cost, but it got to the point where I couldn't drive in her car without being overly frustrated at the sound. What drew me in here was that Luke gave me model numbers, brand names and with that I searched the Internet to find that he was as knowledgeable of these products as anyone. While I didn't have any actual service performed here, I will say the staff was helpful and knowledgeable as I questioned them about my install choices. They even would install something I purchased and brought to them. In the end, it was price, and nothing else, that kept me from doing business with them. I bought a Kenwood CarPlay radio from CarTronics about a year ago. The service was excellent. They didn't try to oversell me. Just gave me what I needed. For some reason, my radio stopped working. I brought it in and was told it was still under warranty but it needed to be shipped to Germany to get fixed. I was told in total, I should get my radio back in about 3-4 weeks. Unfortunately the parts that they needed to fix was backordered. Cody and Nathan, the manager went out of their way and worked with Kenwood to get me a brand new radio. Even though I made an appointment, I was told it would be 20 minutes before they could look at my car??? After having car looked at, he said I could have radio sent out and fixed or pay $460 for a new one. He seemed irritated when I asked him what it might cost to get repaired. At this point, I gave up, found Titan Motoring on yelp, and got much happier person and a quote for $200 installed without steering wheel controls, which he said would save me $100. Went to CarTronics to pick out a stereo for Christmas. Having little to no idea for what I was looking for as far as what would fit a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon, Ben (an employee) came over and was more than happy to assist me in choosing a great quality stereo and subwoofer (which my car desperately needed). The entire installation of the stereo and subwoofer took about 5 hours. The satellite receiver and hands-free microphone for the Bluetooth phone feature are installed in such a way that the wires are completely hidden. This place is WAY overpriced and their installation is lousy. No prices on the shelves means they like to play "let's make a deal." Only when pressed will they commit to a price. The previous reviewer got a match on a price - not a better deal. He didn't trust his car to them to do the install, probably a good move because they screwed up my installation and never could fix it. Now I have a loud annoying interference buzz in the audio when the TV/DVD player is in use. They claim that they have a lifetime warranty on their installations - well they don't. They lie to you so you waste an hour finding out that their intention was to get you in the store to sell you some more overpriced stuff. read more

I had purchased a brand new car a few years ago. Decided to get 2 10' sub's in the trunk. After installation they worked great for awhile. Mind you the car was of high quality, with 5000 miles on it. One morning I go to start my car and it won't turn over. I had it towed to the dealership where I purchased the car. After talking with them they determined it had to be the after market equipment they added causing the problem. However it never had a problem starting for them once they towed it to their location, or any time since. It must of been a gremlin in the car, faulty connection who knows. The point is Cartronics did not want to help me at all. Even though they had recently worked on it and this was a brand new car! The whole day this is going on, I am on the phone with a Cartronics manager I guess. Assuring me that it is not a problem with their installation and that my dealership is I quote " certified part pullers" meaning they don't have the knowledge to work on cars. At the end of the day from about 8am when this all started to 8pm I had my car back. By that time the manager had stopped returning my calls. Thanks for the service. read more

While installing the speakers new HID headlights, LED turn signals, Dash-cam with rear camera and a module I provided for a pulsed warning of the third brake light. Let me start by saying the front office did an excellent job in making my vision of a custom enclosure come true. It was a custom job for my 370z roadster that required fabrication of a fiberglass enclosure for 10 inch subs behind the seats. They installed a head unit, 2 amps, door speakers, tweeters on the dash, and did some other request. Overall, I was very pleased with the work, but here is where I got my monies worth. When I had a major problem, they stepped up and resolved the issue immediately at great cost to them and that why I wrote this positive review. read more

I even bought the wrong bass knob and they helped be get the right one and it works great!!! Jacob did the install and it was great he checked in with me and gave me many option on where and how he can put and hide things and made sure I got exactly what I wanted. About 7 months ago I had all the speakers replaced in my Ford Probe by this Cartronics store. However, they did a horrible job removing and putting back the all the panels. When I first picked up the car, I could slide my hand between the door panels and the doors. It was obvious that they haphazardly pushed things (panels) back. Even the panels in the trunk were misaligned, plastic snaps broken or missing, just very disappointing. And they had the cheek to say that it is an old car, and that the door panels must have been removed in the past by previous owners, that was the reason for me being able to put my hand easily between the door and the door panel. When I told them that I had been the only owner of the car, they said nothing. I took the car back, they made some minor readjustments, but the door panels still pop away from the door within a few seconds of pushing those together. So in summary: they did a horrible job, and di not fix it later. I would avoid them. read more
