I bought my first kettle from here for when I moved into halls at University. Every time I use it, the kettle equally reminds me of my first year at uni, and this cute little shop.
You can buy lots of different electrical items from here, such as fans, toasters, telephones and blank CDs. The greatest thing is that prices will match (or be cheaper than) most major retailers who deal in this area. So it's definitely worth dropping by for a price check, and for supporting our dwindling little independent stores.
But I think my favourite thing about this shop is that it sells such a vast selection of lava lamps. I haven't seen any of these for ages, so it was a surprise seeing them here. I love them because they are both arty and practical.
If you're browsing through the window Carter's from the outside, don't be put off by the elderly lady who works there. I know she does stare out the window quite a lot at people, but once you start talking to her, you'll realise how friendly she is! read more
