I want to share my appauling experience with Curry's PC world. After ordering a washing machine on the 29th January 2018 and agreeing a delivery time slot for 2nd Febuary 2018, the drivers arrived on time but noticed a deep scratch at the front. They took the machine away saying 'KNOW HOW' will contact me the same or next day. I waited till the late afternoon but there was no call. I then called them and was told they were not aware of such an incident. She apologised and arranged for a delivery for the next day between 9am and 1pm.
After waiting till 1.30pm and there was no show, I called 'KNOW HOW' again and was told the driver's had come and had called but I hadn't answered. This was impossible as I have been waiting for this delivery and had stayed at home all morning. Another apology and delivery time was booked for the following day. The machine was delivered but I was told by the installer the water valves in my old machine had seized and were leaking and so I would need to call a plumber as he was enable to tend to this minor problem. He left the machine for me to install myself.
When I attempted to disconnect the valves myself I managed it in one movement, there was no seizing or leaking! When I went to then open the packaging of the new machine, to my horror it was the same machine originally delivered 3 days ago with the same scratches in the same place! Clearly the same machine was moved from one van to another.
Another call made to 'KNOW HOW' explaining the whole scenario. This time I was offered 15% discount to keep it and received another apology. I refused as the deep scratches were just below the drum and clearly visible. I asked for the order to be cancelled which I was then told I would have to go back in store to do. Ok, so another afternoon was wasted going to Fosse Park Leicester to cancel the order. I was given a temporary receipt with a barcode telling me i would be refunded 24 hours after the item has been collected AND after I go in store AGAIN to have my receipt scanned.
I was told by 'Sam' at Fosse Park I can do this at any branch as everything is on one system. So 2 days later when I went to St.Georges retail park (a branch closer to home) for my refund, the manager 'Amish' said I would have to go back to Fosse Park for the refund as I had purchased it there. I explained the assistant at Fosse Park told me any branch could give me a refund to which he answered "tell the manager there his staff are not trained up to speed". So ANOTHER afternoon of work based as I then had to go to Fosse Park to get my refund. After speaking to the manager there, he still insisted I could get my refund at any branch. By this time, my washing had piled up and I am out of pocket for being away from work trying to get a refund for something which wasn't even my fault.
In conclusion, Curry's PC World customer service is non existent, not even the managers! Their staff are not trained to deal with customers, their drivers and installers are lazy and dishonest! I would not recommend purchasing from them ever. Clearly their 'KNOW HOW' team are 'NOT SO KNOW HOW!'
I eventually purchased a washing machine from John Lewis who together with excellent customer service also offered me free installation and free scrapping service for my old machine. If only I had gone there to start with. read more
