She brought me three other dresses that she thought I would like. I'm glad she did because I normally won't spend $100 and up on a dress for myself. I really liked one of her suggestions so I purchased it. I was happy there was a 20 percent off sale. The dress ended up being $140 but I think I'll get enough wears from it making it worth it. They were so helpful with their recommendations and letting me know their thoughts on which dress was the best for me to buy. I didn't feel pushed into buying either. Can't wait to come again in the future to see new arrivals!

It seems like at the time I was here they'd just opened an expanded portion of their store, where they have some toys and things for older children--toddlers and up. You'll find lots of clothes, blankets, and books, as well as a couple wagons, strollers, and car seats. The owner is a midwife as well so you might avail yourself of services, too. I bought a couple of onesies that are magnetized. I keep hearing "no snaps!!" (but like EVERY PIECE of baby clothing has snaps...), so these were intriguing. They have a magnets along the flap as the closure mechanism so I bought a couple in the 6-9 month and above size to try them out. I have high hopes!

Not sure what happened but my friend said they packed the wrong size of ruffle butt when they got the outfit. I went to exchange but they no longer had the size we needed. After making a selection of clothes I was examining a felt case of magnetic blocks when my newly potty-trained 3-year-old told me she needed to go potty. There were no public bathrooms available at the store. As every mom who has potty-trained knows, this can quickly become a minor emergency. At this point I made two mistakes: first, I didn't check the price tag on the blocks, and second, I didn't keep track of how much I was being charged. Unfortunately, I was too focused on my daughter and whether we would need to make a quick dash out of the store. Once home I was dismayed to discover that small set of blocks was $69.99. I tried calling the store to see if they could help me but only reached voicemail. As it was already close to closing time I decided to return the next day. At the store the next morning, I explained the situation to the employee at the counter and asked if they could extend some grace and do a one-time return of this single item. The employee remembered me and seemed sympathetic, but had to ask her manager in the back. Her manager remained in the back and sent word that they would not make an exception to their no-return policy. I then asked whether I could simply exchange the blocks for other merchandise totaling the same amount. That was also refused. Instead, I was told my only option was to sell the blocks back to the store on consignment for less than half of what I had paid for them the day before. I declined, as I would rather try to sell them myself and recoup more of the cost. At no point did the manager ever come forward to speak with me personally, but merely sent her employee back and forth. For anyone shopping here in the future, I strongly recommend checking every price tag carefully before checking out. Some items may be considerably more expensive than expected!

I LOVE The Children's Place. It is one of the best places to buy quality children's clothing…read morewithout breaking the bank. Sizes start at newborn and go through 14, and the clothes gravitate more toward the Circo (Target) and Gymboree lines in terms of style: lots of bright colors, graphic tees, and denim. I love seeing collared shirts and khaki pants for boys, as one of my pet peeves is the way Americans dress their male children, which seems to include sweatpants and sports t-shirts, more often than not. And The Children's Place has great holiday collections for Hanukkah/Christmas outfits. You can also buy school uniforms here. Unfortunately, the Geneva Commons store is a bit smaller than most, and I often feel like their stock is not quite as impressive as the store at Stratford. You can usually find new items on the shelves, but the sale selection is slim. The staff is not rude, as one reviewer says, but they aren't warm/fuzzy either. But I'm not looking to make friends with the staff - in fact, nothing makes me happier than entering a store where I'm not bothered/harassed by salespeople every time I turn around. The only reason this Children's Place does not earn four stars in my book is because it's a smaller store with less selection. Otherwise, it's a great store, and I would encourage you to shop there if you have young children. The clothes are adorable, and the prices are spectacular! P.S. - I usually look online at the items I want to buy first, then wait for a sale (which usually arrives every week, so not to worry if there isn't one when you visit). The best sales of the year are the Monster Sales, which happen in January and June/July. I usually stock up then, as shirts start at $2.99, and pants at about $4.99.

When you are the Mom you have to buy diapers, shampoo and stuff like food. As the Grandma I can buy all the impractical stuff. I have only been there once since my granddaughter was born but I was able to find the cutest head bands with bows that attach for football games and St. Patrick's day. Sigh of bliss. How fun to buy such non essential items. They have tons of darling dresses, socks and coats that are so cute and cunning. I love everything they have here. Some of the items are custom made and are similar to what I make for my sweet new granddaughter and I love that also, it makes me feel like I am so darn clever. I don't know about you, but I plan to head over early and often.
