I was totally in my element here. It was like a mini haunted house, there were so many different rooms and they each had a different vibe than the last. All of the staff were very friendly and you could tell they enjoyed working there. I loved all the work from local & independent artists! I ended leaving with my arms full of prints and stickers. I love this place and can't wait to come back. read more

Ghoulish Mortals is a really fun store. It specializes in games and movie and pop culture memorabilia with an emphasis on the horror genre. Make sure that you walk through the entire store. There are new experiences and things to look at around every corner. Check out the pictures because words don't do this place justice. I ended up buying a game for my husband's birthday. The items were priced reasonably. I highly recommend Ghoulish Mortals! read more

I've been doing the Ghoul Pool here for a couple years now, but this was my first time at the actual location and LOVED it. Can't wait to go back. Such a neat atmosphere with a great variety of products to choose from. The space was so much bigger than I anticipated as well. Highly recommend. read more

I finally got around to check out this store. It's massive, the main floor has the bulk of it. There's a bottom floor with many opportunities to take selfies with. There are two pinball machines that you can play for free, Godzilla and Stranger Things. Prices of items are competitive to what you would find elsewhere. It's nice to have everything in one place. The owner was very pleasant. You can find free parking in the two lots closest to the store but it's very limited on the weekends. read more

This is one of my favorite places, so much fun to walk through. You almost always find something you have to have. This last trip I had to have the DOOM floppy disc magnet and the blinky figure. There is literally something for everyone, from horror to goth and pop culture they got it all. 2 full floors oh pleasure. It's almost like a museum but you can buy the exhibits. Bonus: the bar/restaurant next door is great! It's a great location right downtown on a corner. Everyone is very helpful and friendly. It's a place you wouldn't soon forget. Well worth a special trip, its a special place. You can tell it is someone's passion. read more

My friend wanted to go to the horror shop and I had no idea what she was talking about, but omg. This place is huge and everytime we walked into a room I thought it would be it but this store just keeps going and going. It was also packed. I'm surprised they are open year-round but clearly they found an untapped niche and I love that for them. They have literally everything here and the different themed sections were awesome. I kept finding things I wanted but had no legit reason to buy. I was tempted AF though. read more

Ghoulish Mortals - What's up, Audrey II? - Props Near Me - St. Charles, Illinois

A little Getaway to Saint Charles for the Scarecrow fest and drove by Ghoulish Mortals and saw the bright green sign. Looked it up and decided to pay a visit and boy am I glad we did. I might be biased since Halloween is my favorite holiday and it just happened to be October so what's better than a shop of nothing but scary characters and fun things!!! If scary things is your thang than this place is for you. From Stranger Things to Michael Myers to Pennywise to demon babies. So many things to look at, so many cool things to see. Free Stranger thing and Godzilla Pin ball machine for you to try out. Basement floor was even scarier and better. I got myself a Chucky Cuddlecult and got my son a Kirby star plushy. Spent a good hour browsing and taking pictures and we had a blast! I highly recommend this cool shop for all the Halloween lovers out there!!! read more

This place is a horror, pop culture paradise! This place goes "all out" when it comes to giving a memorable shopping experience, incredible Halloween decor too and showcasing hard to find items and collectibles. I happily enjoyed the free play pinball to distract me. Big horror collections from : Halloween, Freddy Krueger, Friday the 13th, Killer Clowns from Outer Space, Alien vs. Predator and many others are showcased here. Highly recommend visiting this place! What a fun and unique store for things creepy, monster-y and horrific! This entails everything from Godzilla/kaiju to Cthulu to Ghostbusters to Nightmare Before Christmas to Edward Scissorhands to Stranger Things. The truly creepy stuff (heads in jars, horrifying clowns, bloodspattered babydolls) are in the back room (where a dad cheerily led his young son while we were there...hope that kid got some sleep that night :/) I loved the Mothra and Gamera woodblock prints by Brian Reedy and will have to check back! Ghoulish Mortals is a creepy delight for pop culture fans of most ages. read more

Support this business yall!! I visited this store back in October and I haven't stopped thinking about it since! A few weeks back I ordered a print and sticker from them and because they didn't have one of the items in stock sent me two complimentary prints! Came here with an old friend a while ago and the staff was friendly and very chatty, helping my friend be more at ease, seeing as he was freaked out by the awesome decorations haha. But, even for someone who's easily scared, he found plenty of cool things he loved like the large amount of ghostbuster merch, stranger things lins and even the pinball machine. I will definitely be coming back halloween time! read more

Found this joint months ago on Google but refused to go until my older sister was visiting so we could go together. I'm obsessed with this store and kind of just want to hang out inside all day. From top to bottom you can tell the owners love all things horror and weird. The love that went into creating this experience is palpable. The merchandise comes from many local and extended artists and the shop owners are the coolest and sweetest people. I could have chatted all day-they, too, have art and textile art in the store for sale and they're amazing. Check out their sons vision of TNBC as the character art from The Haunted Mansion-they're gorgeous. If you love art, horror, weird, and macabre, go visit Ghoulish Mortals in St Charles and be sure to look at every corner and every basement stairwell. read more

Cute "scary" addition to St. Charles. Drove from Algonquin to see this specialty store. I'm looking forward to more merchandise but didn't leave disappointed. I love horror and love Disney's Haunted Mansion a tad bit more and this store brings that mix. The front part is filled with art items intermixed with items to buy. The second portion is more for ages 12+. I will be back, once more merchandise rolls in. Good luck, ghoulish mortals. read more

Literally my favorite store of all time. Amazing variety of products from all sorts of genres. Perfect place to get presents for a spooky person you know ! The owners (I'm assuming) are usually up front at the register and they're always so nice :) cannot get enough of this place read more

This store claims to be "Chicagoland's only retail monster and horror store." If you're a Nightmare before Christmas, Addams Family, classic horror or some sort of Gothic Lolita, they'll have tchotchkes and decor for you. Offerings range from jar candles featuring the Addams Family or classic movie monsters to skulls (molded purses; shaped candles including some freak skulls; firepit skulls; etc.); various types of jewelry (pendants - lots of Ouija board pointers; mini-animal skeleton pins) to art prints (classic movie monsters; It; Freddy; Haunted Mansion knockoffs; various Gothic Lolitas/undead lovelies) and the occasional creepy doll. In the back things get a little gorier; if you'd like a bloody (foam head) hammer or an It circus poster, they'll set you up, or perhaps you'd like a photo of your horror-themed tattoo made into a fake display looking like it was peeled off your body and then framed? Prices are affordable; I picked up a lithograph of the Bride of Frankenstein. Lots of fun if you like this sort of thing. I'll look forward to seeing how crazy this place gets around Halloween. read more

As the queen of all things odd, creepy, and morbid; this place wins my dark heart! If it were up to me, everyday would be Halloween. Alas, it is not up to me; except at my house, where everyday is for the wicked. Ghoulish Mortals never lets me down when I need a new piece of art for a dark mantle, wicked teapot, or other goodie. My daughter is inheriting my love of all things wicked, and requested her 12th birthday be there. Now, if they do parties; they've earned ALL of the stars! read more

Loved EVERY CREEPY CORNER ! My 14 year old is an artist and after her crappy JR high showing props to every sports star--I wanted to take her to see the amazing and affordable art at Ghoulish Mortals. They have jewelry, haunted mansion, Beetlejuice and awesome serial killer and ghoul merchandise. My daughter is autistic and this shop was comfortable for her--no jump scare just displays that are fun and awesome! We laughed it up and bought a ton of creepy goodness. The people waiting on us were so nice and outgoing and so creative as well that it gave my daughter hope and inspiration. I studied special fox make up so I loved every turn. We could have bought the entire store! So fun! read more

What a fun place! It's like being in Halloween-town all year round. I really enjoyed this place. They have fun things like candles to finger prosthetics to posters. This is a great place for all your Halloween needs or if you're like me and love the haunting, dark spirit all year round. The front is more kid-friendly and the back side is somewhat gory.
