What a cute little boutique nestled on a quiet side street in downtown Calhoun. If I wasn't just…read moreaimlessly window shopping one afternoon while seeing family in the area, I wouldn't have even known it existed. I'm glad I took a stroll over and discovered this hidden gem. Aside from super cute clothes and shoes (boho tops, platform sandals, wedges, leggings, loungewear), I found some adorable necklaces and earrings, a few handbags (higher end materials) and a bunch of nice home decorative accents, like candles from The Rustic House line, which I was told were made exclusively in Tennessee (manager mentioned it). Most of the clothes were from area designers and such and the selection and prices were really comparable to nearby boutiques and big box retailers. I liked a lot of the pieces, but only picked up a few as I needed room in my luggage to pack for the trip back north. There was a surprise scavenger hunt sale going on, so I drew for a discount code at the registers and was pleased to have received a nice percentage reduction on my purchase (30%), which is a healthy savings. Yay for surprise scavenger hunt sales (a few of the local boutiques downtown were participating that week)! I'll take a nice sale any day! The manager also told me that I could order anything from the store and have it shipped out of state, too, so that's a bonus. She also told me to check out their FB and IG pages, too, both of which seem chock full of interesting finds. I just checked out their IG and they have some nice items on there. I'm about to do some online shopping now..... The new stock is adorable. Service was friendly and the manager-owner chatted with my husband and I for a bit and mentioned a couple of other local shops I might actually like to check out. First rate shopping experience at a local independent biz.

I visited this store recently on my way back home from FL…read more I was looking for some rare Paramore vinyl, and to my luck, the manager working (he said he was a "key-holder" and I assume that's what that means) said he was a huge Paramore fan! He listed off all of the great rare Paramore vinyl that he owned, and I was really impressed. He asked if I had any of their jukebox singles, and I said that I had one (Misery Business) and that I played it all the time. He told me I was crazy for playing the record, because you shouldn't play rare records. Having them remain unplayed is the only way to collect. He then told me that the Hot Topic Paramore records were rare and that they didn't have any, but that they had some rare My Little Pony figures. I guess if you like Paramore, it is assumed that you like My Little Pony. He was wrong. But I did like his hat. It was fuzzy. I think he said his name was JJ or Zay Zay or something like that. I give my visit 4 stars. And if any readers have any rare Paramore vinyl, let me know!

Since there's pretty much nothing to do in Calhoun, we spent the majority of our time in either Chattanooga or the Lake Conasauga Recreation Area--both far drives from my childhood abode. After taking a shower at home, I slathered myself in my mother's Lemongrass Cardamom body lotion from the Bath & Body Works Outlet. When my mother told me she scored it for 75% off, I rushed to the outlet before the 6 p.m. Sunday closing time to get a couple bottles for myself. "You probably wouldn't think we're nearing an outlet mall," I joked with my friend as we drove past my former piano teacher's house, progressing past a horse farm and pastures. I went a little berserk when I saw all the discounts at Bath & Body Works. Really nice lotions beckoned me at 50% and 75% off. I grabbed a huge Nectarine Mint candle marked at half the original price. I'm talking antibacterial hand soap, room fresheners, hand creams, body wash and more for astonishing bargains. I've been to this Bath & Body Works Outlet before when the prices matched the regular store more closely. Yesterday, however, all the shelves screamed with deals.
