She ordered the X-ray, but in an ironic manner, saying "I can do a head to toe scan if you want". After receiving the results of this study, I had to take my husband to the emergency room, where he was a very bad diagnosis and fluid around his heart. My husband would have died if we hadn't arrived in time. This woman is a DANGER. She either doesn't know how or refuses to order tests for her patients. I called her superiors a week ago to inform them of what happened, but they still they haven't responded.

She said she'd never heard of that. I told her the abbreviation is DVT. She telephoned someone behind the wall but did not get an answer. So, she left to ask the practitioner about DVT. After a few minutes she returned and said I should go to the emergency room. No ultrasound could be performed at their office. I told her DVT is my best guess but I had come to the walk-in clinic so that a health care provider could tell me what was wrong. I was dismissed without the benefit of an examination and told to seek medical attention in a setting that would be far more expensive for me and a waste of hospital resources. If I am supposed to engage in self-diagnose then they should have taken my advice and written a prescription for a blood thinner. I won't waste my time a second time.

All of the staff are friendly and cheerful, making the visits less stressful than they might be otherwise. The lab is on site so you can get that taken care of without going anywhere else, and if you need an x-ray that's in the same building too. In fact just about any specialist you might get referred to will be found in that or the adjacent building. My visits with my doctor are thorough and I feel like he spends more time with me than other doctors I have had. I feel like I get very good care. They take most major insurance plans. My company changes insurance providers frequently and so far I haven't had a problem. The time you spend waiting is kept to a minimum. You are usually called in within minutes of your appointment time and once in the exam room rarely wait more than a couple of minutes. The rare times the wait has long, it's been because my doctor was tending to an unexpected medical emergency with another patient. One other plus? Since it's an Internal medicine group, the very spacious waiting room contains only adults. You will not encounter sick kids running all about coughing and sneezing on everything.

For a decade I had the greatest doctor. Although I generally visited once a year for my physical,…read moreshe kept up on my health through communication with specialists that I visited. When I would visit her she remembered personal stuff and would ask about my life, she would talk about medical stuff that was going on since I last visited her, sometimes she even gave me that hug I needed. I was truly heartbroken when she moved to urgent care a few years ago because of family obligations. Since that time I moved around the Olathe Health Systems and really wasn't happy with the doctors. In and out, push the patient through, no concern for the overall person, and no review of the overall medical profile. I decided to move my primary care to KU where I see specialists in other fields in order to help keep my files together and in hopes of overall more cohesive care. When I first visited Doctor Polsak to establish as a patient, I was not prepared for how the visit would go. Doctor Polsak came in the room well versed on my health history. I was impressed that she took the time to review my files so she was prepared with what questions she needed to ask and how to best serve me as a primary doctor. She was very thorough in reviewing my medical history, any needs of mine, and took the time to get to know me as a person. Based on the past few years with OHS, I was blown away. This was the care I was missing since my long time primary care doctor left. While not excited for doctor appointments, I am excited to have a PCP that truly cares for her patients. If you are looking for a new PCP, I highly recommend making an appointment with Doctor Polsak!

The office here was efficient and the appointment was thorough. I went to another dermatologist last year at another hospital who was almost mocking that I was in to get checked out. She's like, "you don't use a tanning booth and don't have anything worrisome? Why are you here?" Um. You know, to not get skin cancer and to do preventative care! It was the opposite here where my appointment ran smoothly while also taking any other questions I had. So if she's accepting new patients (no guarantee), I'd highly recommend Dr. Horner. She knows what she's doing and is overall top-notch.

The front desk told other patients the doctor was running an hour behind but not me... I am giving her 4 stars because she is personable, factual and gets it done quick! Every question I had she answered directly and did not hummmhawww like some Derms I have been too. She will point you in the right direction and give you her opinion on what you should do. She will also tell you if she feels comfortable or not removing a mole or doing a certain procedure. The parking garage is a pain in the butt, no one can park between the lines. If you drive a larger vehicle you should just head right up to floor 6/7. This is considered plaza 1 but its in building 3. The nurses were all very friendly and communicative. I have another appointment in May. She is part of St, Lukes Medical Services.

The inside is less spectacular. Bad hygiene for a hospital. Insane wait times. Some pretty unfriendly people. But they do see everyone and take care of everyone - as best they can - and I appreciate that. Our wait was close to 2 hours but it could have been worse, I suppose.
