I was hit by a vehicle in April 2026 and chose CARSTAR based on what appeared to be fairly decent reviews. After dealing with them, I'm seriously questioning whether those reviews are even legitimate.
The repair work on my vehicle is absolutely unacceptable. They used a ridiculous amount of body filler on my left front fender, and the paint now looks like someone took 80-grit sandpaper to it. The owner claims it is "shrinkage," but whatever excuse they want to use, it looks like shit. There is also a scuff mark trapped underneath the clear coat, which tells me the job was poorly prepped and rushed.
They replaced my bumper and fog light, but instead of matching the two bright-white LED fog lights I had, they installed a yellow OEM-style light. Now one fog light is bright white and the other is yellow. How does any professional body shop look at that and consider the job complete? They also replaced the left front fog light bezel with a used one, which began collecting condensation and had to be replaced again. Even after that, they still could not replace the fog light itself with the correct matching light.
It is now August 24, 2026, and CARSTAR is refusing to return my calls or respond about correcting their terrible workmanship. Even Progressive has tried contacting them and has been unable to get a response.
I am completely fed up. I trusted CARSTAR to properly repair my vehicle, and instead I received sloppy bodywork, mismatched parts, poor-quality paint, used parts that failed, excuses, and absolutely no customer service. I would not recommend this shop to anyone. If they are willing to send a vehicle out looking like this and then ignore the customer, that tells you everything you need to know about how they do business. read more
