The experience was extremely pleasant and I don't believe there could be a more helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive staff/environment anywhere else. I feel equipped to take the next steps in my life after a time of crisis. Additionally, all of my experiences with the front desk and phone lines has been perfectly good and pleasant. You will get out of Adult PHP what you put into it. Like any other therapy, it is largely patient-driven in the sense that you need to want change, be present, and advocate for yourself. This may sound like a challenge, but I want to reiterate the staff are excellent and are 100% rooting for you. They, in my experience, will do anything they can to help you bridge any barriers.

We went through a long assessment with a Prairie Care Therapist earlyThursday AM during which I was not allowed to correct/make the therapist aware of my daughter changing her story from person to person, they did not call back within the 2 days as they had promised (we waited the entire weekend until about 2PM on Monday), they said she was not a good fit for the program that the hospital social worker had recommended for my daughter, then they stated they would send some information on a program they would recommend for her, after which they sent resources that had nothing to do with this. After several days, we remain at square one without a plan. Do better, Prairie Care; people's lives and livelihood count on it!

She obviously just did not want to take my case. I do not know why. This is what I experienced. She will ask you questions and while you are answering she speaks over you and interrupts until you are agitated by asking another question. This was repeated until I had to speak louder to feel heard. Then she says this might not work because you are getting agitated. I told her it was because she kept interrupting me. She said if she didn't I would just keep on talking. I feel like she did that on purpose and I believe that was very unethical behavior. Interrupting, being rude and triggering someone's PTSD on purpose isn't good or professional. I just needed medication management. I'm already diagnosed and I have a Therapist. I needed her to review my DSM and my psycho neurological tests which she didn't even have in front of her yet. Anyway she did reject me but I agree we aren't a good match because a psychiatrists most important quality is to be a good listener. I also feel like her knowledge of medications is lacking due to our conversation about Straterra and Cataplexy. It absolutely can be used to treat it. I googled it and it is used for that sometimes and it has helped me with my Cataplexy so, she was not going to continue a med I depend on to function anyway.

A follow-up to my recent review:…read more The provider's finance department contacted me about my Yelp review and offered different payment terms, and I greatly appreciate the provider's flexibility and the opportunity to look at a different payment schedule. The billing department did try to accommodate my needs. I was unable to accept the new schedule, but I consider that a reflection of the current financial climate and my financial responsibility, rather than the provider being inflexible. I think it is important to report when an agency or provider wants to make things better and help, and this one has.
