After having our baby a year ago and going on several road trips and camping trips, you can imagine how messy and dirty our car was. We took our car for detailing and an oil change at carsmart because we heard such great reviews! When I got the car back, it looked just like when we had bought it new 5 years ago. Not a speck of dust or dirt anywhere! Everything was so shiny! They added a coat to the outside that has kept our car clean and free of bugs for over 2 weeks now. Service was thorough and smooth as well as easy to pay through a text link. Carla and David made the whole process seamless and always had smiles on their faces. We will definitely be back! People at Carsmart are nice to interact with, but buyer beware you may get a lemon that they will not stand behind. When buying a car I was told they stand behind the cars they sell. In the fist week after purchase the engine started making a knocking noise. When I reached out to Carsmart they told me there is no warranty, but we can schedule a time to bring it in for service at their service shop. Appears they only stand behind the service counter to collect money to repair the broken cars they sell. Beware when you're looking they say there is 3 months 3000 mile warranty, but if you negotiate a lower price they remove the warranty without telling you in the negotiation the removal is part of accepting the negotiated price. At signing I do remember a document slipped in that said it was as is, but they were fighting me over signing arbitration papers and I was late for work so I overlooked it and am now stuck with a lemon. They may be nice and may say they back the cars they sell, but when it comes time to backing their words you will be stuck pouring more money into the lemon they sell you. UPDATE From Owners Response: Dealer did offer to fix the issue, at my cost. This is not standing behind what you sell, seems more a lets sell a broken car and then make more money charging them to fix it. They say they serviced and inspected the vehicle and gave me all the information needed to make a decision, yet the vehicle began having turbo issues pretty much immediately after purchase. Integrity is demonstrated by how a person acts when things go badly, not how they behave when all is going well. CarsMart staff have shown they lack integrity and will stick you with a bad product to make a buck. If you read this, see other reviews here, google, Facebook, etc. You will see a theme of CarsMart getting great reviews when all is well, but once things go bad they will refuse to help you and they will make sure to make up a whole buch of excuses, I mean "reasons" why they were not able to back their word. You can make your own decision, but I recommend finding another place to purchase a car or to have your car serviced. read more

come on carsmart please do the right thing and fix my brakes you guys sold me a car with shot rear rotors and pads I brought the car back the next day and you guys gave it back saying nothing was wrong even tho I pointed out the sound coming from the tires. I had to pay for an independent inspection to find out you guys put good rotors on the front but dangerous rotors on the rear and expect me to pay for the brakes. I'm a disabled Marine Veteran I'm not rich please do the right thing and fix my brakes I even found you a cheap quote I shouldn't be going through this carsmart!!! You guys are quick to aske customers for good reviews and a picture for your Facebook before your customers find out you sold them a lemon. Don't screw over our Veterans!!!!! read more

There is a reason that used car salesmen get a bad rap, and this particular business personifies that. I recently purchased a car from them and during the test drive I noticed a really loud wind sound coming from the corner of the drivers door. Other than the obvious problem with the seal the car seemed fine. I was told they could easily replace the seal, they would just need to order it. I was hesitant to do so but they assured me it would be an easy fix. I purchased the car on March 11 and they said it would be about a week for the seal. And then Covid shut everything down. I kept in touch and was assured the seal had been ordered and received. I finally brought my car in and waiting outside, in the blaring sun and heat for over an hour and when they brought the car out they said they had done some "internet research" and found a system that worked better than replacing the seal. They stuck strips of weather stripping in the seal which by the way was not where the sound was coming from. I complained that was NOT what I was promised. Within hours as soon as the sun warmed up the seal, the pieces of weather stripping fell off. Of course I contacted them again and because of Covid did not want to ride with someone in a car and they said they would pick my car up. Then they said they wouldn't because I lived to far away. They knew where I lived because I bought a car from them. So again, I would have to bring my car to Berrien Springs. I made arrangement for them to pick the car up in Berrien Springs while I had a work assignment near by. I was told they would put some kind of "paint" on the seal, drive it and then determine where the leak is. (It's obvious where the leak is) They would find the leak and then would order the correct seal to fix it. An hour later my car was returned, as promised, and they said the found the leak and put rubber in the seal. When he showed me where I said, that was NOT where it was leaking. He then said, "I've taken time out of my day to help you and this is all I'm going to do. You don't have anything in writing." Well, I actually do have promises to fix the issue in writing in text messages. I also have a witness. The seal is most definitely not fixed and about an hour after driving my car I have found the product Great Stuff all over my seal and also on the car. Who in their right mind, especially a mechanic thinks it's a good idea to spray an expandable product into a door seal? Incompetent and dishonest. Buyer Beware and by the owners own admission, get everything in writing because obviously their word means nothing. Side note, I realize when you purchase a used car there could be problems. Within 2 months and really not driving anywhere because of Covid, I've had to replace the rear brakes and recently the motor on one the automatic windows no longer works. read more
