This company has thousands of dissatisfied customers because they have loopholes in their contracts to avoid paying legitimate claims.

I was a CarShield customer for 5 years covering my 2013 F250 SD Diesel. My check engine light came on and I took it to the local Ford dealership where I purchased the truck. I told the service department that I had a CarShield mechanical warranty and he immediately told me that they did not accept a CarShield Warranty as they were extremely difficult and time consuming to deal with. I finally convinced the dealership to try to submit my claim and CarShield declined my claim as they said my EGR cooler (the reason for the check engine light) was not a covered component. So, I had to pay $2,500.00 for the repair. My CarShield Warranty had cost me about $110.00 / mo. After 5 years, the total I wasted with them was $6,600.00. I immediately canceled my policy and I'm putting the $110.00 into a bank account designated for vehicle maintenance. You will be better off doing this than giving CarShield your money thinking that a check engine light problem is covered. In my opinion, they are very misleading in their advertising!! CarSheild is no good. I just had to contact attorney. They declined fixing my vehicle saying there were other issues. My timing chain broke and they are trying to say that it was driven afterwards and they are saying that someone deleted all the codes. CarShield - 2012 Range Rover that CarShield is refusing to fix completely - Auto Insurance Near Me - Saint Peters, Missouri

Bad in so many ways. Took my Jaguar to the only shop that would accept Car Sheild in a 50 mile radius. I quickly found out why no shop would accept this extended warantee. Mind you this was their so called top of the line coverage. It took the service writer 45 minutes to get a response to what they would pay for the repair. ZERO for diagnostics. $12 for a PCV valve. $60 for labor. ZERO for the intake tube. The service writer reminded them this was a Jaguar. She was them informed that there was a $250 deductible therefore they paid ZERO. This top of the line coverage was a monthly cost of 239.99 per month. The coverage was worthless. I'm not certain you could buy wiper blades for $12. I have canceled the "coverage" (non-coverage). I'm going to do a better job of researching different companies and disregard the TV advertising!! read more

Had a Carshield policy for over a year on my F-150. When I had an issue with the AC I took into the shop, foolishly confident that my policy would take care of any charges. After the inspector gave the runaround for several days with my mechanic he said it wouldnt be covered due to the system not being maintained. The vehicle had received regular maintenance and it lost coolant when the system failed. You're better off saving the money you would spend on a policy (that wont be honored) and put your cash in an interest bearing rainy day fund.After cancelling my policy, due to their terrible service they have the gall to constantly calling asking me to come back. Sending mail with no return address, and lying about vehicles. They sent a letter addressed for my grandma saying she has/had a sports car which she has never owned. Wouldn't be surprised if this was to get her to call them for them to sell her info to telemarketers. read more

They lie and do not cover MOST services. We have tried 3 different times and each time our service was not covered. We had it for 3 years until we needed to try to use it. I cancelled right away after the money that we spent on the protection for the 3 years read more

They LIE!!! You as a customer pay way more for a repair than they do. I had the "diamond" plan and it doesn't cover what they lead you believe. I have been a customer for at least 3 years, (paying $120.71 every month) I finally have to end up using Car shield and I end up paying way more than they did. They lied to me several different times and then have the audacity to call my wife and I a liar. I even cancelled my coverage and they took the money from my account and are refusing to give it back. A MUST READ: If you have CarShield "THEN YOU SHOULD RUN" Let me first start by saying I have two vehicles that I was paying $100 a month for each since 2018 with no claims. One of them is a 2011 Jeep Wrangler. I brought it in for service because I found a leak in the transmission pan. This and all associated parts for this service are clearly part of my coverage, but CarShield chose to deny coverage because there was surface rust on the parts. Ummm... dummies I live in the northeast, salt on the roads in the winter, of course, there will be some rust. So I called them and they said: "Due to corrosion we do not have to cover parts that have rust". This is their loophole to get out of paying for covered components', "corrosion". After a deep dive into the contract I did find mention of corrosion but it was not clearly defined or explained. This was the second time they pulled this corrosion stipulation on me and would not cover any part of this service call. The other was on front-end parts on my 2010 Dodge Ram Truck. I immediately terminated coverage on both of my vehicles. So anyone that is reading this then you may want to think twice about using CarShield at all or at least understand that if, no, when you need service on your vehicle and it has rust, they will not pay for what you have been paying for. I am now choosing to put that same $200 a month into a separate account for future repairs. That way I know whatever repairs are needed will be covered because I am covering them. Shame on you CarShield for ripping off people in a legal way. I will NEVER recommend your company to anyone and I will be sure to tell anyone that will listen. I give you a big fat, ZERO, F- rating and I'm going to share this news with anyone and everyone who will listen and post on any site that I can find who allow it. So if you're using CarShield, I encourage you to stop drop, and run! If you truly don't care about throwing money away then by all means keep on getting ripped off by CarShield. Car Sheild does not hold up to what they advertise. They will not cover the cost of diagnostics or labor charge cost. They will leave you to pay most of the charges for repairs. They even do not cover the cost of your parts. if your repair shop does not get the part from them, they will not pay for your parts. They also did not give me a rental car although I had the coverage and was without my vehicle for almost three weeks. They paid 500 on a 1500 dollar bill, and left me with the balance. I called and canceled my contract with them and they turn around and took an additional payment out my bank account without authorization. They do not do what they advertised. I have my F150 needing engine and Transmission work. The engine is covered and a part in the transmission is not. They expect you to know the parts in your transmission and that is not reasonable. They advertise that you will not have to pay a repair bill again and that is not true. I have Platinum coverage. The customer service people are very nice but they can only do so much.
