My new dentist recommended Dr. Gray to start the correction process. When I got my nerves up I made the appt and went for consulting. My very first visit to Chesapeake Dental Specialist, I felt I was in good hands. Dr. Gray is super knowledgeable in dentistry, comfortable with his skills and confident in his work. I knew he would take good care of my Colgate smile. He answered my battery of questions with a smile and ask if I had any more! His warming and welcoming staff are friendly. Kim at the front desk is just a lovely lady who welcomes you with a bright hello. I'm sure there is a smile under that mask. Takes your temp and ask the Covid precautions questions that we are all so use to now. My short wait wasn't even enough time to check email or Pinterest pages. I really appreciate the short wait time as my time is valuable as well. The decor of the office is bright clean, clean and nicely decorated. Very stylish like a picture in DECOR magazine. Plants dot throughout. I noticed a air purifier in the bright clean waiting room. So my tooth extractions were scheduled according to my schedule. I was given a order for propalatic meds to help keep infection away. The orders were ordered electronically send to the pharmacy. The dental assistant advised me how and when to use them. I needed a driver to accompany my home since I was receiving anesthesia. The office sent me reminder text prior to my visit. Very very helpful since the healing time was 3 months apart. My procedure started by making sure I was comfortable. Rinse swish first, Dr Gray explained the procedure again. My vitals were monitored, anesthesia administered. I awoke in no pain. I was walked out with assistance to my hubby waiting in the spacious waiting room. I was so pleased and wished I had not waited so long. 2 teeth extractions, virtually no pain. I waited some time took 2 Ibruprophen after a few hrs at home. The office sent me home with a bag of supplies, gauze, tea bags, cold compress and post on instructions. Nice touch. My procedure today was a continuation of the above procedure. Jackie,Dr Gray 's assistant was friendly and caring. She took time to make sure I was comfortable and calm. No anesthesia today but still monitored my vitals. Dr. Gray is a caring man who educates his staff as my procedure proceeded. I have worked in Healthcare for 30 years now, various states, various positions. I've heard a multitude of doctors speak to staff and some patients with condescension attitude. Dr Gray is NOT of that element. His respectful demeanor earns my seal of approval. I have a few more visits that I can look forward to now. I'm in good hands and although Dental surgery can make anyone cringe, make excuses and even lie to your self...I can recommend Dr. Gray at Chesapeake Dental Specialist with highest regards. I was sent home today again with a bag of supplies, gauze, lip balm post op instructions and a cold compress. Very thoughtful touch.

Today's visit had Dr. Gray removing all of my uppers (only 11 left) for partial dentures. I am going through alot in my personal life & this visit had me more anxious than when I found out my complete 3rd degree heartblock, my incarcerated hernia or even my right lung PE. I was so nervous that it made me physically ill. I am not a worrier, except for today. I asked Dr Gray how he was feeling and told him that I said a prayer for him and his crew. Initially I had alot of pain but I am 11 hours post op and the bleeding has stopped and I have very little pain. His staff really make you feel as if they are a member of your family. Everyone is kind, gracious and caring. I couldn't recommend Dr Gray enough. And just like that last time, Keisha called after I had been home for a bit to see how I was doing. This level of care and customer service is hard to find.

Konikoff Family Dentistry assured me they could help and got me in the next day. I was relieved. What followed felt less like patient care and more like a bait-and-switch. After X-rays, I was told they couldn't actually treat the problem and that I would need to see their specialist -- with an appointment scheduled a MONTH later. A month. For a cracked wisdom tooth causing significant pain. But somehow, despite being unable to address the urgent issue I came in for, there was still time to discuss teeth whitening treatments and tell me I supposedly had multiple cavities that would require extensive work. I left, found another dentist the very next day, had the wisdom tooth removed immediately, and was told there were no cavities or other issues. I understand referrals happen. Specialists exist for a reason. What I do not understand is bringing in a patient in acute pain, failing to meaningfully help them, then pivoting to cosmetic upsells and questionable diagnoses while they're sitting there suffering. If your office cannot provide emergency treatment, be honest about that upfront. Don't tell people in pain you can help, only to turn the visit into a sales opportunity. I would strongly encourage anyone seeking urgent dental care to get a second opinion.

I literally look forward to the experience because I know I'll leave the chair with a Hollywood smile. I scheduled my 6 month checkup at my last appointment, but they were already scheduling 8 months out (appointment was in February, scheduled next appt for October). I just received a phone call telling me that they need to reschedule my appointment due to the hygienist being scheduled out. The only available appointment is tomorrow, which I cannot take due to work. The next available appointment isn't until FEBRUARY. This is completely unacceptable, that due to NO FAULT of mine, I am not able to have my regularly scheduled appointment. I have requested numerous times to speak to the office manager, and have been given every excuse in the book as to why she is unavailable. I have been waiting over 3 weeks for a call-back. They put it in writing, showing what they were going to do, how much it would cost, how much insurance would cover and that my co-pay was ZERO. It had my insurance plan at the top. So when they said it was covered, I believed them. IT WAS EVEN SIGNED! Then I got a bill for over $2,000. "Oh, we don't accept Medicaid, just your Medicare." "Yes, your insurance DOES pay for what we did, but we don't accept it, sorry about that!" They said they ran it. They said Aetna said it was a covered service. I disputed the bill with Aetna- yup, I'm on the hook for it, even though Aetna sent me a letter of denial and assured me I would not be billed. Do not trust these people!! I asked PLENTY of questions and was met with assurances all around. I'm on disability and now I have to pay them over $2,000 when I could have just gone somewhere else that really did accept my insurance. This should be illegal.
