Seated in the chair, first time in her office, asked a ton of questions about my vision, which is expected. Of course I do not know the details of how bad my vision is. Dr. Lee became frustrated with me..she says to me, well what do you know about your eyes...umm well I have astigmatism....Bitch, I am here for a reason I am not an eye Dr. So tired of attitude, this is the last time I use my insurance website for a Dr. referral. she measured my old glasses and said to me, this is as good as its going to get. Word of mouth...is the best referral.... the only thing that is cool at this place is they take your picture when you try on glasses so can see yourself and compare on a monitor, and then charge you all the money. read more

Dr Lee is amazing! I had an eye infection and had visited optometrists before but it hadn't resolved and the urgency of the situation wasn't conveyed to me. When it got worse and I had a red eye and blurry vision over a weekend while on vacation, I found Dr Lee and decided to get my eyes checked up. Even though it was the 4th July weekend and everyone was out, Dr Lee identified the necessity of immediate treatment, consulted the specialists in her network, connected me to the right resources and made sure I immediately got treated. Over the next few days, she continued to follow up on how I was doing. I am very grateful for Dr Lee's quick response to my situation and her going out of her way to make sure I got the right treatment and her continuous follow up on my situation. Carrie is a wonderful OD that really cares about her patients. And she's open Saturdays! So, Friday night God knows what gets into my right eye and the pain is excruciating. I'm up all night icing my eyeball to numb is so that I can close the lid and try to sleep (yeah right. good luck with that). Saturday, I have to admit that my eye is likely scratched and I need medical attention. I called my regular optometrist only to find out that he was out with knee surgery and to have the assistant worriedly tell me that I needed to go to a doctor. The last thing I want to do was spend all day at the Minor Emergency. I found Carrie on Yelp by searching for any optometrist open on Saturday. She was able to fit me in within an hour, was extremely attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. I was in a huge amount of discomfort, so she did a second thorough inspection of my eye and then fitted me with a "bandaid" contact to help ease the pain. My insurance didn't end up covering the service, but she worked to get me the lowest price possible since it would be out-of-pocket and also filled out all of the insurance submission forms for me to submit to at least get the money documented toward my out-of-network deductible. She called me a few days after my followup visit to check on me, making sure I was back to 100%. This type of caring physician is hard to find; I highly recommend her. read more

Dr Lee is wonderful. She was recommended by a friend who is her patient. I was actually looking for an optometrist for my daughter, but wanted someone who would be sensitive to a high functioning autistic 9 year old. When I called to make an appointment it was actually Dr Lee who answered the phone so I was able to talk to her about my daughter's situation right away. She assured me that she was all right with it. When we arrived for the appointment both she and her staff were very accommodating to my daughter's barrage of questions, they were friendly and patient. What I observed was a gentle, kind approach to my daughter. They would explain everything they were about to do with her so it wouldn't be a surprise, they would ask if she had any questions about it, and they would wait if they asked her a question to let her process it before answering. I was really impressed when Dr Lee was going to fit some glasses on her that she asked her first if she could touch her face and head before fitting on a pair of frames. It's the first time my daughter had a truly positive first time doctor's experience. Usually the first doctor's visit is fraught with anxiety and some stress until my daughter spends some time with them, but this was not the case with Dr Lee. It was pleasant from the get go. I recently saw Dr. Carrie Lee for the first time after nearly 10 years (maybe more) of going to the same optometry practice. She was highly recommend on one of the neighborhood Yahoo Groups for parents, and while the recommendation was for her work with kids, I sought her out after reading that she has a family practice (right in my local neighborhood!) and works with adults as well. She was fantastic, and I write this as someone who is not particularly prone to gushing about much. My typical response--"eh, it's fine." Not so with my experience at Eyedentity Vision. Dr. Lee is clearly energized by her work, and while I admit the thought of looking at eyeballs all day nearly makes me want to run out of the building screaming--hers is the kind of energy and commitment that is *precisely* what you want in your eye doctor. (You really don't want to entrust the care of your vision--or that of your kids--to someone who's thinking, "How soon can I stop looking at this eyeball and be on the first plane to Aruba?" during your exam.) Energy alone does not a good doctor make, however, and Dr. Lee's enthusiasm and excellent "bedside" manner complement her knowledge, thoughtfulness, and clear (and respectful) communication style. I really appreciated how she showed me what she was talking about with a diagram that illustrated what she was talking about. There are few things that bug me as much as medical professionals who either a) use a smattering of medical words or phrases I don't understand and don't bother to break things down into plain English or, b) break everything down to such an extreme that it implies they think I'm an idiot. Dr. Lee struck what is surely a tough balance, and communicated her knowledge clearly and in manner that was conversational and friendly. Finally, I loved that there no pushy sales effort to get me to buy frames at her shop. Admittedly, it's a small shop, so there aren't oodles of frames to choose from. Nonetheless, the fact that neither she nor her staff were breathing down my neck created a pleasant, pressure-free environment in which to peruse her selection of frames. I'm quite pleased with my experience, and will gladly return to see Dr. Lee (and will be sending the rest of my nearly-blind-as-bats family to her as well). read more

Carrie is quite knowledgeable, exceptionally professional and she & her staff take customer service very seriously. She is also very good at encouraging preventative maintenance for your eyes. Oh, and she is ultra, ultra polite...which I suspect may explain why another reviewer might have misunderstood her intent and as a result, gave her such low marks. Anyway, most recently, after my annual checkup, I ordered new prescription sunglasses with progressive lenses. After the new sunglasses arrived, I tried them out for a few days and they were not dark enough for the mountains, where I use them most often. Carrie took them back and had the manufacturer darken the lenses. No charge. And then called a few weeks later to make sure they worked out. read more

Dr. Lee saved me. I awoke Saturday morning with my eyes puffy and swollen. I couldn't open my right eye fully. My eyelids felt like sandpaper on my eyeballs. Normally, I would just try to wait it out. In my experience, it's not worth hassling with medical care on the weekends, unless you are facing imminent death. But I realized that this was not going away and my vision was impacted by the swelling. I called Dr. Lee's office and they scheduled me in before lunch. I'm sure Saturday is a busy day, but Dr. Lee did a thorough exam and set a course of treatment. 24 hours later and I'm already feeling much better and seeing well enough to use my computer comfortably. She wrote everything down for me and, most important, gave me clear procedures for followup and tracking. I hate leaving a doctor's office, getting a new symptom and then wondering what to do next. She made sure I had her contact information for the next 72 hours so I could contact her if anything progressed unfavorably. I've been seeing Dr. Lee for many years now. Both myself and my daughter have corrected vision. My daughter can be a bit of a challenging patient. She is bright, but nervous and a bit high strung. She is personable and talkative, but needs to understand in detail everything that this being done to her. She has a particular concern about anything touching her eyeballs. Dr. Lee's friendly, gentle and attentive manner put my daughter at ease. My daughter trusts her completely and is actually *happy* to go to her appointments. Maritza and the rest of the team do a great job running the office. They are super clear about the costs and payment terms for all eye wear and treatments. They always followup to make sure new eye wear is working out and adjustments are often available on a walk-in basis. read more

I have had 20/20 vision my whole life but over the past few years my vision has gone downhill. I setup an appoint and can't tell you how beneficial it was. Dr Lee did a bunch of tests and gave me a thorough explanation of all the tests and the results. I had an eye injury a number of years ago and she even looked to make sure there was no residual scarring. I ended up having to get reading glasses and Dr Lee walked me through a few tests to understand how close I will be to computer monitors and reading material to get the right lens for my needs. The office assistant (sorry horrible with names) did an amazing job picking 4 frames out, from literally over a few hundred, and ended up choosing one of those frames. Dr. Lee and her staff are fantastic! As a person, Carrie is warm, extremely friendly and genuinely caring. As a professional, she's thorough, knowledgeable, wayyy smart and just makes the patient feel that s/he is in very good hands. She explains everything she's doing and is hapy to answer questions big and small. I bought two pairs of glasses (regular and sun) through her office earlier this year and lost one of them. Dr. Lee is an amazing O.D. She is beyond friendly and always takes a genuine interest in each of her patients. I have referred four of my friends to her and they all say the same thing. She is very thorough, whether it be following up on a new pair of glasses just to see how they're working out, or hounding you (in a good way) to make sure you come back and get your eyes dialated. It's good to see someone enjoying their profession as much as she seems to. I have been to other eye doctors that have misdiagnosed me in the past and never had a problem at Dr. Lee's. As a life long glasses wearer I highly recommend Dr. Lee to all. read more
