Cool cafe! I like novelty cafes especially with upcycling to this scale! For those who might not be aware, this cafe has two train carriages with plush seats decked out for diners if the wish to latte somewhere a little bit different. I was keen to pop into the inviting black locomotives but hubby's choice was out closer to the water and ducks, which was pretty nice too. We had morning tea here for the first time, coffees and cake, or more specifically sweet muffin and afghan biscuit. Both were super tasty but my coffee was a bit blah. The place was staffed by lots of young faces all quite friendly and helpful. The place was very popular, and I eyed off my neighbours scrumptious looking egg benedict. We had to walk through a garden centre to get into the cafe which was fine by me as I wanted to drop into a garden store whilst out and about. At first we had our reservations but 1 visit change all that! The food is brilliant! The coffee lip smacking good! (Bach espresso) the cafe isn't too expensive either - intact some of the popular breakfasts are actually cheaper than Main Street cafés! Seriously disappointed. The reviews on Yelp made this place sound like a hidden gem so we gave it a go. The interior is in desperate need of attention. I think they play on the use of the train carriages as a novelty dining option, but it was shabby & unkempt when we ate there. The staff were young & unprofessional, chatting to each other about their drunken weekends & ignoring customers. The food portions were massive! Eggs Benedict was drowned in a hollandaise that had an after-taste of curry & not much flavour: it basically ruined the other ingredients. The hash browns were deep-fried to within an inch of their lives. Everything came off a little like a truck-stop: the chef clearly loves the deep-frier & favours quantity over quality when it comes to meals. Unfortunately we're not truckers. So we won't be back, unless I hear there's a new chef in the kitchen. And even then I'll be hesitant. read more

Breakfast Review only. I have been to this place multiple times and every time has been a pleasure. The food is great and the staff also great. If you are out that way stop in check out the garden shop and get some good food in you. Trust me you will not be disappointed. I had the Eggs Benedict and i am so used to the sauce being broken. Absolutely cannot recommend this place. Thirty minutes after ordering and the rest of my table had finished their meal my wife went to ask how my meal was coming along and was told it was on the way, continued to wait 15 more minutes and wife went back up to counter to see what was happening as it had now been quite some time since the rest of the table had finished and i hadn't been served yet and she had to wait about 10 min and then was given my plate to give to me. She handed me my plate and the first thing I noticed was there was a hair on my eggs. The meal was also cold and congealed due to it having sat in the warmer for obviously quite a bit of time. At this point having waited so long for my meal and being the only one at the table who hadn't eaten, the hair was the last straw - and it looked rather pubic..... I immediately took my plate to the counter untouched and asked to speak with the manager. She came out and I said "there is a hair on my eggs", she looked and asked "where" when I pointed it out she said "well that didn't come from us and it looks like a bit of fluff" I began getting a bit disgruntled and decided I didn't want the meal and didn't want a replacement as I didn't want to make my table wait for another 45+ minutes for another meal and asked for my money back to which the manager seemed bewildered and kept saying "that's a piece of fluff it couldn't have come from us" Fortunately for the manager the cashier decided to reimburse me and slammed some cash in my hand so this would be concluded - unfortunately the cashier also didn't pay attention and shortchanged me a few dollars. Obviously I'm not impressed at all and would advise others to stay well away from here. In addition the place was not very clean, had a rather large ants nest living in the window of the carriage, uncleared tables everywhere and the wait staff seemed to be on another planet and oblivious to their customers. One plus is the coffee was good but hey I can get better for less at other places.... not enough to draw me back here again..... neat concept with the train carriages but executed quite poorly..... :-( not recommend!!! read more

Small menu selection but that doesn't matter as they have a good variety. Cost is reasonable too. Coffee was absolutely devine and I would go back purely for the coffee. The service however was a real let down. Quite a few staff but had to yell to place my order and still had to repeat myself two or three times. I requested water off one of the waitresses as the jugs on the table where you help yourself were all empty. She was going to say something but obviously saw the jugs were empty so went and filled one up and came back with it then said very rudely "next time you're here help yourself to the water which is up there" and pointed in the direction of the water. She then slammed the jug on the table and walked away. I'm sorry but when there are two of us who have just spent close to $70 on lunch, the waitress can bring me water without the attitude. I then witnessed an elderly gentleman go up to get his water and again the jugs were empty, he asked the same waitress to fill them up and she replied you can fill them yourself the tap is there. The couple behind us asked her a question and she responded to them very abruptly and was very rude. Bad staff let good places down. I'd get rid of the waitress who obviously hates her job and is not a people person and hire someone who appreciates there are a lot of businesses out there that are vying for loyal customers who work hard for their money and wish to spend it at establishments where they are treated with common courtesy and respect. I would give this place 4-5 stars if it weren't for the rude waitress who really lets this place down. read more
