I called the store and immediately this man named JOSE said not to worry and that he would come out to check my car. He came right out and was so kind and understanding. Said they did have the right battery and that he would install it. When he went to take out the old battery it was melded together to the terminal with corrosion. Jose took 30 MINUTES OR MORE to work on getting the terminal off. He even went back in and got some Wd40 to continue trying to get it off. He worked and worked and worked. He never gave up or suggested he couldn't do it. He did all of this while wearing his pristine grey Auto Zone long sleeve shirt and didn't get a single stain on it! I was so impressed not only with Jose's work ethic, but also by his cheerful attitude and the fact that he simply was determined to help me and not leave me or my car stranded without a battery. I am SO appreciative of Jose. This Auto Zone is kinda located in a basement area in San Clemente, so it might be easy to miss. But I will search it out again and again simply because of your employee, Jose! I did ask Jose who his boss was and wanted to make sure this message gets to Joe Peckett. Jeff was having a bad day and took it out on me…read more...... I went in to get a lilium battery charger. Asked Jeff for help when I purchased it, he recommended the most expensive one. I asked him if it was returnable he said yes. I got back into return it as it is not a lithium charger and he treated me like garbage. Suggested that I changed my battery and then wanted to return it. No I did not even use it. Proceed to batter me as if I was retruning a used item and made accusations towards me. Just completely rude. So rude the sales person apologized for his co workers behavior. I wished Jeff a better day and hope he learns not to be such a DICK in his day to day life. - Although this shop is conveniently located I will be purchasing at Walmart or Lowes up the street. Upon inspection I had a nail in my tire that couldn't be patched. David came to help me see if they had a tire in stock. When he confirmed, he offered to get me through the process same day! I was so impressed with the quality of service, care, and attention David gave to me and my situation. People in customer service, especially auto centers, who care like David cares about service are hard to find. I'll definitely be coming back for shy future car care needs!

I will never come to this auto center again…read more I called yesterday, spoke to a kind and patient manager, and I asked for an estimate over the phone, and was quoted $50-$60 out the door for one single almost new tire under warranty to be replaced. When I arrived, I was haggled, told I needed to purchase a more expensive tire with a higher install cost. Was told my tread was 50% worn. I haven't even been driving my car hardly at all because of an issue with the registration. I told them I had been quoted $50-60 out the door, which I explicitly asked for while previous day, and they said no ma'am, it's going to be $80-90. I told them I wanted to see him measure the tread because it seemed sketchy, and the manager told me with a nasty tone that was rude of me to even ask and they were going to deny me service. I had already been there an hour past my appointment time at this point and had been in tears for 20 minutes because I lost my job and money is extraordinarily tight. I left and went to Laguna Niguel where the folks have been kind and understanding, with zero upselling or rudeness. Within 10 minutes they quoted me $48 plus tax. Don't bother wasting your time at San Clemente. They are scammers. Update: laguna niguel completed the work in the amount of time it took me to write and post this :)
