(2) Owner could not set a price on the services I wanted - he had a difficult time determining what his time is worth. He couldn't provide an estimate. (5) Called the owner and asked what's the deal: "baby sitter wasn't available" so he couldn't commit to getting it done in the agreed timeframe. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOAT TO TERRACE VIEW! I've been coming to Watts bar for over 40 years with family…read moreand friends and just last summer decided to store my boat with Mark at Terrace View. I paid for indoor storage for the winter and when he pulled my boat out this spring the ski compartment was filled with water, leaves and mildew. He had obviously left it out all winter. When I confronted him, he blamed it on me. Then he went to put my boat in the water and told me that it wouldn't start, and I needed a new fuse. He told me it was going to be a couple hundred dollars to fix it. At this point, I was so frustrated that I just wanted to take my boat. I told Mark don't replace the fuse box but his mechanic had already cut the fuse box out. I ended up taking my boat back to the house with the fuse cut out that Mark INSISTED needed to be replace for my boat to run. I got the boat home, and IT STARTED RIGHT UP! Recommended by two local friends for their fairness and professionalism, I made an appointment to take it by for some work. They offered me choices based on time and price and how much I wanted done, gave me an estimate on some upgrades that I want to make "someday," texted with progress and pricing things, and as was the experience that others told me, didn't try to be "shady" about the cost. LeAnne is a treat and he is like an uncle that tells you what needs done, can show you, and explain it to those of us who aren't mechanics or auto techs. All of the stars! I found the place. The old Jeep is like a primitive dune buggy with all of the personality and quirks without any pesky modern amenities or safety features. Held together mostly with bailing wire, bubble gum, and hope. I need a place like Shadetree to be able to enjoy it and still be able to afford food and gas.
