Con artists, I ended up taking these windowlickers to court and won.
I bought an iPhone online and through this particular shop and as it was my first contract had no problems for a year. I got speaking to someone else with the same phone and realised I was paying more than I should be. I found out from O2 when I queried my account that Carphone Warehouse had signed me up for a more expensive contract with O2 than I had requested, should have been £35 a month but Carphone Warehouse had put me on £45 a month. O2 refused to do anything and would not amend my tariff. O2 refused to speak to Carphone Warehouse, and Carphone Warehouse refused to speak to O2.
I supplied Carphone Warehouse with my original email order confirmation numerous times, by screengrab, jpg, pdf, word doc, text file and brass rubbing, as I had ordered online and the phone came from this local shop. Carphone Warehouse told me I was wrong, and even accused me of falsifying the email order confirmation. I said if they did not amend my tariff with O2 and refund me my money I would take them to court. This went on for the best part of a year. Prior to court Carphone Warehouse instructed their solicitor to send me sinister letters saying I would not win and I was at fault. They also falsified a witness statement from an employee of Carphone Warehouse I had never dealt with, trying to intimidate me with legal bull. As the court date got closer they attempted to pay me off by offering about £100 which I refused as I was owed over five times the amount as O2 were demanding me to pay off the contract in full which I refused to do.
When the court date came Carphone Warehouse did not even bother turning up which annoyed the judge presiding the case who had some choice words for them. I won. If they had simply amended my tariff, apologised and refunded me it would not have cost them thousands in expensive solicitors fees. They are as thick as mince.
O2 are also at fault here as they refused to amend my tariff even after seeing proof of the email order confirmation. O2 passed the account to TWO debt collection agencies who I had to fend off stating that there was nothing they could do as this was going through court. After I won I emailed O2 three times to say I had the money and it would be transferred when I had received a letter of apology and the debt recalling from the debt collection agencies and wiping. O2 were more concerned to get me back on the same contract which I told them to foxtrot oscar.
The customer service at both companies is pathetic. You could train chimps that eat their own crap to do a better job.
