From the start, so many things went wrong with this order. Such as: misinformation/confusion from the sales person as to which shades could or could not work in our windows, a grumpy installer who had to come back several times to get the measurements right, poor installation (one of the shades would not operate correctly), the wrong-sized shade that had to be recut and reordered. Hunter Douglas is supposed to be the premier shade manufacturer and I don't know if the problem lies with Hunter Douglas or with the local store who did not seem to know what they are doing and made little attempt to make this right for us. As of right now, January 2021, we are still missing one of the shades that had to be recut because of an error in the measurements. The order was originally placed in the summer of 2019. So we have been waiting for 7 months for completion! You would think the sales person would offer us some kind of remuneration, or would do something to expedite this last section of blind, but that has not happened. I will say that the shades that did manage to get installed look very nice. I will also say that our windows are very oddly shaped. But still ... we could have taken a little vacation on the money we spent on these drapes, not to mention the aggravation of trying to get it all done correctly. I wish I had shopped around. The attached pictures shows one of the shades that would not operate correctly after the installation.

They called right before they were supposed to arrive and said they were caught up with another job and won't be able to make it. My fiancé used 2 days PTO which she will not get back. Not to mention the time waiting around for a "No Show" Company. Ridiculous and very unprofessional. We ended up working with Sauni, who quickly scheduled someone to come out for measurements. The estimate we received was very fair, and we decided to move forward. On installation day, the team arrived right at 9 a.m. and got straight to work. Within just a few hours, the project was complete, and the results were outstanding. The craftsmanship was excellent, and the runner looks perfect on the stairs. We have another staircase that will likely need the existing runner replaced, and based on this experience, Carpet House will be our first call.
