There are three floors of pre-war furniture, household objects, chandeliers, toys, medals, vintage jewellery and other collectibles. Over the years I've noticed the prices going up a little but it's still great value for money. The last time I went I came away with a beautiful vintage sewing box that I found amongst various ornaments and bric-á-brac. In the basement you'll find a café which does a mean weekend breakfast and serves good food throughout the day. The building itself is also noteworthy. Built in 1898, it was originally the Town Hall. The original mouldings and green tiles are still existence. The Antiques Village is a five minute walk from Levenshulme Station and a ten minute drive from Manchester City Centre.

There were lots of pictures from contempoary to traditional in all different sizes. I got two massive canvas' with flowers printed on them for the bargain price of £30. If pictures aren't your thing that have a great range of homewares with quirky designs and fantastic colours. If you're like me and have a daily struggle finding places to put things, you will love the large wicker baskets they sell. The prices are great. The only downside is that some of the items aren't fantastic quality but if you pay 50p for a mug don't expect it to last a dishwasher cycle!

Unicorn Home Furniture is the kind of furniture shop that hates Ikea, as it sells similar items at…read moreslightly higher prices, because not everyone can be huge multinational company and offer furniture at ridiculously low prices. They have a huge range of beds, wardrobes, dining tables and chests of drawers here, all at reasonable prices. The furniture isn't stunning, but then it won't break the bank and it will do what it's meant to do. The staff are friendly and the vibe is quiet. You could wander around here and have a good luck at everything here without people hassling you to make a sale. Oh and they sell carpets too. A bit of everything really and much closer than Ikea.

If you want to spend your money in here, your better off going to Ikea for similar prices and…read morequality. My parents bought a wardrobe set with matching bed side table and also a dressing table from here. Everything looked fine and dandy when they came to fit it, however, afterwards when they had left and we were putting things in we noticed there were a LOT of scratches all over the wood inside the door and there was also what seemed like ROT on the corner of the shelf inside. We also discovered a loose knut that hadn't been drilled in properly so we had to use our own screwdriver to do it, even though we had to PAY for the guys to fit it for us. What took the mick even further was when I opened up a drawer on the bedside table, there were some CRISPS and LEAVES inside. What the hell? It makes me think whether the set was new or whether it was a show room one. We rang up to complain and they said to send in photos of the evidence we found in email to them, which we duly did but have never gotten a reply off them which is very unprofessional and sly. I could never recommend this place based on my experience and will warn everyone NOT to consider it. The quality is no better than what you get in Ikea anyway, but at least when things go wrong in Ikea, you can take it back.

I ordered a freestanding shelf unit from Accessories for the Home and when it arrived (very…read morepromptly), I found it to be completely unusable - it was so wobbly, just a tiny touch sent it rocking around in circles. I immediately got in touch with the shop owner explaining the situation - it took me sending two emails and then finally calling to get someone'a attention. She then admitted that the shelf she had in stock was in the same state, so couldn't offer a swap but said I could take a discount or a refund. As I spent almost a couple hundred pounds on it I opted for the refund. it's now been two weeks and i can't get anyone to reply to an email or my phone calls. terrible customer service - stay away!!
