Avoid this company at all costs!…read more We commissioned Classic Joinery to manufacture 4 windows and 1 door and frame from solid oak. The owner gave us a quote of £4,800.00 and a turn around of 5 -6 weeks. He asked for half in advance which we gave straight away. After 4 weeks I telephoned to enquire how the job was going, to be told "David will get back to you soon" another week went by and David had not got back to me, so I rang again to be told by a lady "David is on another call he will ring you straight back" no one called back. The next day I rang again, he answered, hooray! My excitement was short lived as he informed me that there had been a problem with the Oak supplier and my job had not even been started. I asked when it will be and when it will be finished, he promised me I would receive the windows in 3 weeks, this was a real blow to our schedule, but I thought well ill just have to live with the delay and work around it. To my horror this scenario went on and on and on for 16 weeks, when I eventually got part of my order. 2 weeks later I got the balance. I had the windows and door installed, initially they looked great I thought the wait was worth it, untill the Oak door started to swell, and stick shut closed. I telephoned the owner to ask why this was happeneing to be told "You should have let us seal them for you" " I did" I replied "and paid you £300.00 for doing so. " "Ohh yes, it must be the weather where you live" After 3 more months of telephoning and him saying we will be there in a few days then no one ever turning up the door panels have now swollen so much ( over 3cm) the door has broken the frame and can not be used, the windows will not open at all. If you buy anything from this company they will promise you the earth until they have your money, then they will do exactly what they want (nothing) what ever you do avoid, avoid avoid.
